HELP! What were these boots called? Popular in the 80's/90's

It's driving me crazy that I can't remember! My Mum had a pair. Everyone seemed to have a pair, lol.

They were white and looked like trainers, but they had an ankle on them, so they came up higher than a trainer. They were always white.

MrsSkylerWhite · 14/03/2023 10:02

Lesina · 14/03/2023 10:02

Train007 · 14/03/2023 10:03

SoupDragon · 14/03/2023 10:03

I think possibly High tops.

Rayna37 · 14/03/2023 10:03

I had a beautiful purple pair- definitely not always white!

Needmorelego · 14/03/2023 10:03

I would call that style High Tops. I have no clue if that's a brand (like "Converse" for baseball boots).

Staplesonstamps · 14/03/2023 10:04

Fila high tops?

Mabelface · 14/03/2023 10:05

Nike hi-tops?

ArianahX · 14/03/2023 10:05

High tops - usually with neon laces I was about 13 a lot of my classmates had Reeboks but sadly my mum couldn't afford them.

Niceviewtowaketo · 14/03/2023 10:07

I remember in the 80’s white lace up buckskin boots worn with leg warmers being all the rage. Buckies with leggies was how the fashion was referred to

Hiddendoor · 14/03/2023 10:09

Hi tops. Or they could have been Step shoes. To do step aerobics in. With your white puffy sport socks pushed down to the top of them.

Hiddendoor · 14/03/2023 10:11

Reebok ones!

Boxing boots? My female mates wore them!

BeachBlondey · 14/03/2023 10:13

Thanks all. Definitely not Hi tops. They had a really silly name. My Mum loved hers. Sadly she has now passed, so I can't ask her. Like squashy white trainers that came up to your ankles. And they were definitely called something Boots.

Deadringer · 14/03/2023 10:15

I think moon boots too.

UnfinishedBusiness · 14/03/2023 10:18

Kickers?

BeachBlondey · 14/03/2023 10:19

I don't think they were moon boots. Not as squashy. More trainer like. It's driving me nuts!
