…what perfume do you wear?

I think the most compliments I've had were when I used to wear ....don't laugh.... the female boss by Tulisa! Really cheap everyday perfume so I did buy it again last year after not having it for years but it's s nowhere near as nice and not as available.

I tried Gucci Flora this summer- liked it first smell in the airport, given a sample and it became cloying and not like the fresh, garden scent I want.

Suggested Tiffany by Boots consultant- apparently similar notes to Stella. Given sample - hated it, I smelled like an.old lady.

DH said 'Oh no!' to both too. I am simply bereft- like I already said🙄.

I was stopped so many times over the years and asked. 😪

La vie est belle. Also wore Burberry Black for a while and got compliments too. When my friends hug me they can also smell my hair, I either use redken or herbal essences, so I think a combination of a subtle perfume spritz and fresh hair is what does it.

@Puffalicious bizarrely the Lush Rose Jam bath bomb gives me the same jammy rose scent I loved about Stella. They do it in a body spray but that seems to have a patchouli note that I don’t like,which seems a common theme with lots of rose scents, I really dislike it.I haven’t found a decent dupe, I’m just hoping they see the light and re release it without reformulating it. I’ve been wearing it for over 15 years, including on my wedding day. I have MANY bottles stashed

Van Cleef and Arpels Precious Oud which isn't really an Oud, it's a massive white floral with a touch of incense.

Other than that, I get asked about Lord of Misrule by Lush and Aerin Waterlily Sun.

Also for the people missing Stella - Perfume Parlour do a copy of it.

It's got mixed reviews, I find sometimes with PP perfumes they settle in the bottle after a couple of months and become much more harmonious. But might be worth a punt? If you want longevity, shell out for the extrait version which is a few more pounds.

This has only happened to me twice, by strangers anyway. I was getting on the bus and the driver said ‘Oh you smell amazing what is it!’ …a tad unexpected. That time it was Ca Sent Beaux Kenzo. The first perfume I loved that they discontinued. I don’t think I even realised that could happen… I was so gutted.
The only other time it was Stella..like PP’s it was my signature scent that I was so happy to have found. Discontinued. The dupe I have also has that patchouliness to it which I hate.

Oh actually it did happen one other time. When I was in the bank the teller complimented me on my perfume and asked what it was. I had to tell her I wasn’t wearing perfume and it must be my dry shampoo! However it did smell like Gucci Rush so added that in 😂

Thanks! Worth a shout. I have the Eden dupe (091 if anyone interested) which is pretty good actually- it's eau de parfam (not toilette) but it's not got the depth of actual Stella.

Online suggests Miss Charming by Juliet Has A Gun as a replacement. Anyone tried it? Where stocks their perfumes for me to have a spritz?

@Puffalicious I’m pretty sure I saw it on here about a year ago. I felt a bit silly ordering so much as I didn’t really believe they’d discontinue it, but I’m now glad I did. I almost wish I’d bought more, I’m on the dregs of my bottle and can’t bring myself to crack out a new one from my stockpile. I have vague notions that my dc may one day want a bottle of it to remind them of their younger days when I wasn’t so decrepit. One unexpected bonus is that I’ve realised I really adore perfume and I’ve spent the year trying out lots to try to find The One. I had no need before as Stella just WAS my perfume. I’ve steered away from rose scents as I truly think anything else will be inferior, but I’ve found some lovely ones and it’s quite novel deciding which to wear every day.
