Desperate for a pair of slipper boots that will actually last
ImprobablePuffin · 17/01/2023 14:35
Wasn't sure whether to post in chat or S&B.
Birthday coming up and I'm desperate for a pair of boot style slippers that will actually last and hold their shape. They would need a hard sole rather than flimsy.
Please can anyone recommend excellent slipper boots?

M&S have knitted ones that do the job and keep shape well.

A pair of UGG minis will do the trick but they are expensive. I have some that are over 10 years old and still sturdy. However the short ones can be hard to get on and off if you have any motility problems.

I received some Totes sheepskin boots slippers for Christmas which I am loving

Actual sheepskin boots. I got mine on Ebay but I think they are Matalan own brand and they have lasted better than any slippers I have ever had, are lovely and warm esp on the cold floor in my office as the sole is thicker and don't look like droopy slippers

Short UGG type boots with soles. I've got a pair from TKMaxx which are well into their second year and still going strong.
CockSpadget · 17/01/2023 15:18
I got mine from next, had them a few months now and they are still like new.
RedCarsGoFaster · 17/01/2023 15:31
I have Ugg minis. I paid about £100 4 years ago and they look brand new, and in the current temperatures have been worth their weight in gold.
You could buy non-branded sheepskin ankle boots like Celtic and Co which would do the same and cost less, but I don't know about their longevity.

Currently wearing these which I got for Christmas and seem pretty sturdy. Before that wore these ones. DH would get me a new pair probably every 2 years as by that time they would be wearing through - I wear slippers all the time inside and these would also be OK for trips into the garden with the dog. Both styles are good. New ones do feel slightly sturdier than the Celtic ones. Ask me again in 2 years!

Luxembourgmama · 17/01/2023 15:41
My celtic & go ones lasted barely a year and I've had the Kitzbühel 3 years still going strong

I’ve just bought these. Feel like a yeti in them!

Was just Coming to say Uggs. Mine would last the end of the world, I'm sure of it.
DorotheaFrazil · 17/01/2023 15:53
I've got these on www.gumbies.co.uk/collections/womens-brumby-boots
Stylish they aren't 😂 but they are very warm and durable. Easy to slip on and off. Good soles for popping outside when you need to.

Same. Mine are like new and I’ve had them for donkey’s years. Never wear them outdoors though.

Haflinger. £££ but forked out in 2020 as I never left the house so I figured it was justified - still going.
dumbstruckdumptruck · 17/01/2023 16:37
I've got LLBean ones that have lasted 2 years so far...
Columbina · 17/01/2023 16:40
I have the celtic sheepskin ones in grey and they're on their 2nd winter. I wear them all the time working from home. I really rate them.
Howeverdoyouneedme · 17/01/2023 16:42
My Celtic’s rip after a year or so. I’m on my third pair-I really need something else.
amyboo · 17/01/2023 16:44
Shepherd sheepskin slippers are the best! I wear them all the time (on tiled floors) and they last a good 12-14 months. Way better than any others ai've tried. And they're around £70
A pair, so cheaper than Uggs.
AaandAway · 17/01/2023 16:50
Kiwi Sheepskin. They have sales every six months or so. Quite expensive but I've got the Ultimate Sheepskin boots with the outdoor sole and they've lasted years; you can get new inner soles to make them cosy again.
ReindeerSkull · 17/01/2023 16:54
I have Moshulu mule style slippers, they have a hard sole and have lasted over a year so far, still going strong! I bought my mum their slipper boots for Christmas and she loves them.
