Desperate for a pair of slipper boots that will actually last

ImprobablePuffin · 17/01/2023 14:35

Wasn't sure whether to post in chat or S&B.
Birthday coming up and I'm desperate for a pair of boot style slippers that will actually last and hold their shape. They would need a hard sole rather than flimsy.

Please can anyone recommend excellent slipper boots?

Uggs. As long as they stay inside they'll last forever.

MyPenIsHuge · 17/01/2023 17:51

Just sheepskin ones from TKMAxX

beezlebubnicky · 17/01/2023 17:51

Seasalt. My mum got some in the same recently, they are a little pricey but great quality, especially if you bag them at sale prices.

UrsulaPandress · 17/01/2023 17:52

These are fab. And cheap.

I'm seriously considering getting myself a pair of these...

I have those. They're now into their third year and showing very little sign of wear.

TheForgetfulCat · 17/01/2023 18:11

Not cheap but lovely and warm, and while I've only had them since Christmas, look set to last

I have these - 3rd winter and at this rate will do many more! They are so toasty! yeti-and-sons.com/en/women-s-slippers/42-937-luxury-new-mens-womens-sheepskin-boot-slippers.html#/13,color,grey/35,size,uk-4-37-length-sole-252-mm

LockingJay · 17/01/2023 18:14

I was going to say Moshulu too. They have a sale on at the moment - have a solid sole and last really well.

QuietYou · 17/01/2023 18:16

My only Uggs last two yearsish, after that they wear through at the top and go bald inside. They are comfy and cosy so I keep replacing them but am jealous of those getting them to last longer.

Where are they wearing through? Is it the toes? Might be worth sizing up.

figmaofmyimagination · 17/01/2023 18:40

Moshulu are the most indestructible ones I’ve had- three years and still look new!

I recommend this website www.bedroomathletics.com/collections/womens-slipper-boots as I've had a couple of pairs from them and they have lasted years. And I wear my slipper boots every day even in the summer.

zighead · 17/01/2023 18:47

Actually not sure whether the soles are what you are looking for. They aren't flimsy but then they aren't rigid either.

ImprobablePuffin · 17/01/2023 18:49

Thanks so much for all the info/links I'm going to take a look through once kids are in bed.
Interesting to see Moshulu mentioned as I found they did not stand the test of time at all and needed replacing quite quickly.

Celtic Sheepskin. Mine are on their 3rd winter

Agree with this, I just bought new insoles for mine and they are going strong!

I definitely need a solid sole - I have weird ankles and soft soles lose their shape too quickly I find

Living kitzbuehel or giesswein

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 17/01/2023 18:58

Celtic & Co. Every time.

I'm on my second pair after wearing the first for 12 years. Worth every penny and sooooooo warm.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 17/01/2023 18:59

Celtic & Co.
11 years old and going strong.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 17/01/2023 18:59

Oh and they are made in the Uk too

Lurkingshark · 17/01/2023 19:05

Second the PP on shepherds. Mine are bit squished and needed a small bit of glue on sole but over three years old. Honestly they make we a happier person.

AdamRyan · 17/01/2023 19:08

My shepherd's got a hole in the toe after 2 years
I've got moshulus now but only just got them so I don't know if they will last

OnMyWayToSenility · 17/01/2023 19:16

My emus have lasted for 12 years! I don't wear them outside, very well made and cosy
