Just as above, I am looking for a really nice shower gel that will leave a lovely smell in the bathroom (and on me).

Thanks

Anything Bath and Body Works. You can get it online at Next and in some of their shops now too. Loads of different scents.

'common knowledge' and yet scented shower gels are still on sale?

How mysterious...

Do you seriously think that everything on the shelves is good for you just because it is sold? It’s not a mystery.

Do you have any proper links? Surely you do if it's so widely know.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 16/01/2023 17:10

as in links to actual scientific studies, not cleaning websites Smile

I’m not doing the job for you, google it yourself if you want to, or don’t. I couldn’t care less.

For strong shower scents;

  • Lush (we love the 13 Unlucky for Dirt bar, it's rose and oregano)
  • Emily Victoria soap sponge in perfume dupe scents
  • Badedas (some will say TOO overpowering, and it's a very herbal, near-pine cleaner smell)

I'm agog at one person going through a full bottle of shower gel in a week.

My fave is L'Occitane's almond oil. Smells divine.

Honestly thought we were quite typical in our shower gel usage! He gets the £1 cheap original source stuff so I can splash out on mine 😂😂 mind you he uses it as shower gel, shampoo and face wash. Monster.
I love the L’Occitane too but it’s not really a gel that cleans me, I use a shower gel first and then use the oil after, there’s no lather to the oil!
@Deeandra I have one of those but I forget to use it. Must get into it again, I love the scrubby feeling.

Why so rude @StrychnineInTheSandwiches?

If there is a specific perfume you like, you could buy unscented shower oil and a small bottle of perfume oil from perfume parlour and put a few drops in the shower oil. Works well!

JadeSeahorse · 16/01/2023 17:19

If you are looking to more budget friendly options, OP, I could highly recommend Treacle Moon Honeycomb bath and shower gel. The scent is divine, great for the environment as uses only natural extracts, vegan friendly, not tested on animals and in a totally recyclable container. Huge bottle lasts me at least 3 months - used daily - and can usually be bought at the supermarket for less than £2.00.

Molton brown, expensive but I find a little bit goes a long way so a bottle lasts a while.

Also love the apothecary range from M&S - in particular the Calm ones. Smell earthy, a bit masculine. Look nice in the bathroom, and you can buy refills which is a great bonus

The ginger morning is also nice. I’d forgotten about those, just ordered some now.

If you just want your shower to smell nice, Method Jojoba shower spray goes a long way, both smell wise and how long it lasts and helps the shower stay cleaner.

Then you can choose whatever shower gel you prefer.

mrsbyers · 16/01/2023 17:38

I use babedas bath stuff a tiny bit produces so much foam a bottle last months

Campervangirl · 16/01/2023 17:40

Not a shower gel but I've been using Fabulosa bathroom cleaner and their kitchen cleaner, it's fab"ulosa" 😂
The whole house smells of it, I love the fairy dust fragrance.
You can smell it as soon as you walk in the front door plus it cost £1 from b&m and home bargains

poshme · 16/01/2023 17:40

Just don't choose the radox grapefruit one, and then try grapefruit gin. It tastes like shower gel.

TheChosenTwo · 16/01/2023 13:47

@JinglingSpringishBells one bottle
lasts you 6 months?! How?? One bottle here lasts me about 10 days 😂

My Molton Brown lasts for months too!! I only use a tiny bit as I find it goes a long way ..... but it is sacred and only me that uses it!

babsanderson · 16/01/2023 17:55

I have been on the same hunt OP and found bubble bath far better than any shower gel for smell. Also cheaper, but may need watered down slightly as some are quite gloopy. But the smell in many is amazing.

I would rather get a cheaper shower gel and use a proper amount than act as if I am using liquid gold.

It sounds like you speak from experience!

I'm not sure what's worse - having gin that tastes like shower gel, or having shower gel that smells like gin! I mean, if it's a nice smell, great, but I don't really fancy smelling like a raging alcoholic!

Augustone · 16/01/2023 18:06

frazzled22 · 16/01/2023 13:09

The original source tea tree and mint is always noticeable in our bathroom several hours after it's been used.

Love the smell of this but makes my foof tingle and not in a nice way. More like burn....

AtomicRitual · 16/01/2023 18:07

But yes, shower pouffs for the win. I only probably go through two or three bottles of shower gel a year, whereas DH (who has declared shower pouffs "not for men" 😡) goes through one a month.

no sources then :)
