Just as above, I am looking for a really nice shower gel that will leave a lovely smell in the bathroom (and on me).

Thanks

Shower pouffe households, does everyone in your home have an individual pouffe? and if so, how do you store them in an air-circulating way? Do you hang them all from separate little hooks or something? And how often do they need to be replaced?

I have off-putting memories of shared flats from my student days with other people’s shower pouffes mouldering in bathrooms, going slimy, so I’ve never bought one. We use bar soap.

We’ve often got shower gel to use up in the house though, because people buy it as presents or it comes in GWPs. Wondering if some of the plastic-free pouffes are worth getting.

DD and I use them , we have hooks on the wall (those 3M Commando ones) .

The one I have is starting to unravel but I read a tip on a soap thread about using a piece of it to store your soapbar and hang it so it doesn't go mushy . So I;m going to recycle it !

I only buy ones with suction cups attached and stick them to the shower wall. They dry out pretty quickly.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I will work my way through them but have the Radox and Badedas being delivered today.

I also have a pouffe which has a suction cup attached and sticks to shower wall and works really well.

Seconding Fenjal. Such a comforting nostalgic scent. I have the shower mousse - not a fan of gel. Bought two bars of the soap today too.

I'm agog at one person going through a full bottle of shower gel in a week.

My fave is L'Occitane's almond oil. Smells divine.

I use this too, partly because so many of the others make me itchy- particularly Moulton Brown.
I do love Jo Malone Orange Blossom too.

If you’re feeling fancy Le Labo is lovely

I love the green radox one, think it's called relax.

I have some fancier oils and creams but this is the one that wakes me up and leave the bathroom smelling lovely

My absolute favourite too.DH hates it as he thinks it smells like pine fresh but it is my no1! I also love the pomegranate one and the grapefruit. The grapefruit is definitely the one that fills the upstairs with scent.

I also am partial, controversially, to the Lynx shower gels🤣 My teen son has a stash and you cannot beat their sweat stench killing powers post sport.

Eau Dynamisante by Clarins.

connie26 · 27/01/2023 22:57

Why not ditch the plastic bottles and switch to a nice soap?

connie26 · 27/01/2023 22:59

Irish Spring soap smells lovely and lingers.

The original source tea tree and mint is always noticeable in our bathroom several hours after it's been used.

Just don't scrub your hoohaa with it 😬🥶

Badedas..it's been going for donkeys years. My sister in law used to use it 50 years ago (yes I'm that old) and the whole place smelt divine, I always think of her when I use it..amazing stuff!

Cyclingmummy1 · 28/01/2023 11:07

Rituals is great for this.

I like this but a few of my friends think it smells like sour sweat. I wore it once on an outing with a friend and she opened all the windows and thought I had BO! I've given up using it now as a few friends have reacted really badly to it.

I love this too. Veyr old-fashioned but it makes me so happy. DC sometimes buy it for me for Mother's Day even though they don't like the smell.

Wow! Ok good to know.

I am so envious of those that can shower in lovely fragrances. My skin is so sensitive I can only use Dove unfragranced soap.

My Molton Brown lasts for months too!! I only use a tiny bit as I find it goes a long way ..... but it is sacred and only me that uses it!

Haha, I’ve just discovered Molton Brown shower gel thanks to MN and it’s definitely for my use only!!

I don't know if your skin is so sensitive that it would react to even this, but have you tried shower steamers? Tablets that sit on the floor and slowly dissolve, you could enjoy smelling them and having your bathroom/upper floor scented for a couple of hours, without actually putting anything on yourself.

Cannot remember the blasted name but they produce the Frankinscence cream. Anyway I love their rose and geranium shower gel. Stinks the place out! In a blue bottle.

PearlRuby · 04/09/2023 15:11

Another vote for Liz Earle and molton brown - orange and bergamot is my favourite!

Second this - it was my mum's favourite and I've been using it ever since we lost her last year. Gorgeous smell...

I use Fenjal (original) shower stuff too. It’s a lovely feminine scent.
It’s usually on the lower shelf of my local Boots in the Bath and Body section. I love the talc too when I can get it.
