Just as above, I am looking for a really nice shower gel that will leave a lovely smell in the bathroom (and on me).

Thanks

I love the green radox one, think it's called relax.

I have some fancier oils and creams but this is the one that wakes me up and leave the bathroom smelling lovely

Mummymidwife33 · 16/01/2023 18:11

The white company flowers is to die for. I use that and the body cream and can smell it on myself and in the bathroom all day

@Saintasaurus. Ginger morning sounds wonderful!

Will keep an eye out for that one.

Thanks for the tip! 👍

Faith in Nature orange and geranium or Wild Rose are both gorgeous for about £5.

I know MN hates them, but Baylis & Harding Rose & Geranium smells out of this world - strong and expensive, not like harsh budget fragrance.

The ginger morning is also nice. I’d forgotten about those, just ordered some now.

There's one that is called Brazilian something or other... it's gorgeous .

Radox used to have Scent Touch in a squeeze tube, up until quite recently it was lovely was supposed to activate on touch, not sure if that was true but all the varieties smelled so good

I love the Clarins shower gel (the yellow one, not the blue one) and I find it really fills the bathroom with fragrance. Very uplifting.

no sources then :)

Just Google it. There are many many sources, picking one is impossible.

See, I bought Molton Brown shower gels after people recommending them on here and I found them no better than any other shower gel. I tried several different ones and they were just ok, for the price of them I expected to be wowed.

There are indeed.
Just as there are many many many links like this:

www.aap.com.au/factcheck/perfume-link-to-cancer-leaves-a-foul-stench/

Confirming that whilst most everyday perfumes, cleaning substances, etc contain ingredients which may be carcinogenic, we'd literally have to drink 5 litres of Molton Brown a day for years to even come close to risking anything.

And, as everyone knows, (surely) "natural" can also be just as harmful as synthetic. Nature never set out to be benign.

Here's one debunking the bollocks from the Cancer Research org.

www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/causes-of-cancer/cosmetics-and-toiletries

PAFMO · 17/01/2023 07:30

"There is no evidence associating the use of fragranced products with an increased risk of cancer in humans. Some fragrance ingredients have been shown to cause cancer in laboratory animals, but only at concentrations many times higher than those used in consumer products."

Cancer research Australia.

It's impossible to pick a link one reputable source...? 🤔

I think the poster missed the word "reputable" out of their sentence. Because, tbf, it most certainly is impossible to find one of those.

in layman’s terms.

That will be the Dr Hyman who sells his own range of "detox" snake oil and also has a "natural" cure for autism, will it?
Or a different Dr Hyman who hasn't been largely discredited by his peers for his gobbledegook?

PAFMO · 17/01/2023 08:26

“Hyman includes standard advice about a healthy lifestyle, but he mixes it indiscriminately with advice that is based on speculation rather than on credible evidence. And he makes claims that defy belief (curing autism with cod liver oil) and many that are demonstrably not true.”

"When scientific experts reviewed evidence on fats and cardiovascular disease and it didn’t align with Hyman’s own ideas, he endorsed an article by “RebootedBody.com” promoting the idea that the American Heart Association is a terrorist organization."

We may be (redacted the disablist foul word that your post is going to be deleted for) @Tull but using Radox is likely to be far less dangerous to us than anything recommended by Dr Hyman.

Anything from Rituals. My favourite is Ritual of Hammam (blue containers). It smells divine and the scent lingers in the bathroom all day.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 18/01/2023 15:48

Original Source (DD has the Mango one)
Method (DH uses the white one , it smells milky )

I have Molton Brown Orange and Bergamot which is gorgeous , I have a 500ml pump bottle which lasts ages and yes the bathroom smells divine

QuestionableMouse · 18/01/2023 15:52

Smells amazing and it lingers for ages.

Reading. I like something very strong smelling.

Shower pouffe households, does everyone in your home have an individual pouffe? and if so, how do you store them in an air-circulating way? Do you hang them all from separate little hooks or something? And how often do they need to be replaced?

I have off-putting memories of shared flats from my student days with other people’s shower pouffes mouldering in bathrooms, going slimy, so I’ve never bought one. We use bar soap.

We’ve often got shower gel to use up in the house though, because people buy it as presents or it comes in GWPs. Wondering if some of the plastic-free pouffes are worth getting.
