Bleached hair disaster ...pics included, did I do right thing?

I have been bleaching my hair for over 4 years
It ended up so thin and snapping plus wispy at the ends
Anyway I got my hair dyed back brown yesterday and just feel awful
I don't even look like me anymore
It's so intense
Did I do the right thing?

I'm naturally brunette

Wow it looks so much healthier brown. It looks lovely with your skin tone too. Great decision

ChangedmynameagainforChristmas · 12/01/2023 12:07

The second pic looks much better than the first OP !

Peridot1 · 12/01/2023 12:09

It is really nice! Lovely colour. I’m sure once you get used to it you will be fine but I’m sure it’s a massive shock looking in the mirror expecting to see blond you and seeing brunette you. It will be much better for your hair.

lookinbaxn · 12/01/2023 12:10

I wish in a way I had got a few caramel pieces put in so it wasn't so one colour (if that makes sense )
I'm booked back in in 6 weeks so I might get them to add some
But maybe it will fade

It'll take you some time to get used to it because it's such a big change but I think you did the right thing - you look great!

OhPeggySue · 12/01/2023 12:11

It looks absolutely fab. It'll take some getting used to but you made the right decision for sure.

FurAndFeathers · 12/01/2023 12:12

It’s probably a shock for you but honestly the blonde looks awful. Much nicer darker

MollyMunster · 12/01/2023 12:13

Very sensible decision, your hair looks so damaged before, I’m sure that’s not the look you want. It looks nice now, and as you say you can always have minor adjustments next time you go in.

PaintByLetters · 12/01/2023 12:13

Honestly, it looks really really good OP - it's just going to take a bit of getting used to for you!

Adding some subtle caramel highlights next time would also look nice, but worth waiting for that appointment I think and seeing how you feel when it's a bit less of a shock.

lookinbaxn · 12/01/2023 12:14

Yeah I think maybe once I wash and style myself I will feel better.
My next appointment isn't for 7 weeks so plenty of time to decide what to do
Deffo not going back to the heavy bleach as my hair honestly was wrecked
I wish I could find the picture of the back to show you all

UncleQuentinsWife · 12/01/2023 12:15

It looks brilliant, honestly.

FatFilledTrottyPuss · 12/01/2023 12:16

You definitely did the right thing, it looks gorgeous now!

AnyFucker · 12/01/2023 12:17

That is a hundred times better !

Trinity65 · 12/01/2023 12:24

I think its nice OP

Bleach can be an utter nightmare for Me and it washes me out (naturally brunette).
I am red now.

IfOnlyTheyMeantIt · 12/01/2023 12:25

Looks gorgeous! Much warmer and classier IMO.

Your hair will fade massively so it won't be that dark when you go back in 7 weeks.

lookinbaxn · 12/01/2023 12:28

I was starting to feel really washed out with the blonde and because it was so bleached a bit naff

OP posts:
lookinbaxn · 12/01/2023 12:28

Ah thanks everyone
I feel a lot better now

Passerillage · 12/01/2023 12:32

Sooooo much nicer - you've made the right choice going natural. It's lovely on you. I like how she styled it too - much more on trend and flattering that the straight hair.

Hilly17 · 12/01/2023 12:33

I went darker and it does take some getting used to.
Bear in mind that the colour will fade/lighten a bit over time as the bleached hair probably won't hold all of that colour. But then you can decide if you prefer something slightly lighter or get the brown colour freshened up again at your next appointment.
I agree that it looks healthier.

theatrical · 12/01/2023 12:33

It looks so much healthier with the brunette colour.

HarryArry · 12/01/2023 12:35

The brunette is so much better, your hair looks lovely.

DoYou · 12/01/2023 12:40

It looks really lovely.

Yes
This is what happened to Me.
Years ago I had to have 40 volume peroxide but the last time (a year or so ago now) they used 30.
It dries out naturally brunette hair terribly as well.

Blendandmix · 12/01/2023 12:44

It looks so healthy! Deff the right move. I also struggled and wished I got more colours but I'm used to it and love it now
