I have been bleaching my hair for over 4 years
It ended up so thin and snapping plus wispy at the ends
Anyway I got my hair dyed back brown yesterday and just feel awful
I don't even look like me anymore
It's so intense
Did I do the right thing?

That colour is lovely, it looks like a dark blonde/light brown colour and much, much healthier.

It will fade back to being white blonde in the next 7 weeks op anyway due to the underneath of it being bleached.

It can take a while to get used to a completely different colour - it suits you and looks much nicer Smile

I washed it last night and the colour has settled a bit.
I will get used to it
Although I think my bobble hat this morning didn't match my brown hair which was a shame ha ha

I occasionally go darker as my highlights join you after a bit and it becomes block colour. It's annoying as all your make up and clothes then look wrong.
I try to make sure I keep my front bits blonde, think it's called a money piece otherwise I think I look a bit blah

The brown is lovely, and I've learned that light brown is difficult/ impossible for even professional hairdressers to achieve, so it's a brilliant result.

Posters saying how healthy it looks, bear in mind the professional blowdry. Even knackered hair looks swishy with a good blowout.

I'm bleach blonde myself and often think about going light brown but my experiments so far have been less than successful.

Have you tried just getting low lights put in?

On really light hair they need to put a warm base on before the brown. Hair has undertones and over lightened hair obviously hasn't any. If a 'colourist' puts a colour straight on it can look flat at best and even green 😳

I think I need to get back into being a colour technician after reading some of these 😂

I'll give it another go I think.
I find they don't take that well on top of bleach so I use a dark toner all over

Are you seeing a colourist? A lot of hairdressers aren't that knowledgeable about colour in my opinion. Good salons have someone who's a specialist.

It looks really nice. If you’ve got bleach damage, this stuff is supposed to be great.

The darker hair pic is sooooooooo gorgeous. I'm jealous.

lookinbaxn · 16/01/2023 10:48

Well hair update -only washed it twice and this is the current colour
Apparently my hair doesn't want to remain dark
At least it's a bit shiny anyway

It's because your hair is so porous the colour molecules come out. If you use a good quality treatment it's help flatten the cuticle on the hair and make it last longer plus look shinier.
