I have been bleaching my hair for over 4 years
It ended up so thin and snapping plus wispy at the ends
Anyway I got my hair dyed back brown yesterday and just feel awful
I don't even look like me anymore
It's so intense
Did I do the right thing?

Much better brown. The blonde is awful.

GraceandMolly · 12/01/2023 14:46

The darker hair looks fantastic. Much healthier and a beautiful tone. In the the blonde hair you can really see the damaged ends. You made the right decision.

pairofrollerskates · 12/01/2023 14:46

Colour looks great! Condition looks much better, too. I did this years ago and although I felt the brown "wasn't me" at first, it did fade out gradually, so it will get lighter and you will like it better.

Adviceneeded200 · 12/01/2023 14:51

Looks fab! And think of all the expense spared now as your hair grows and doesn't need colouring!

Colour really suits you.

I'm light brown and grey now, always natural and saves a fortune!

CuriousMama · 12/01/2023 15:02

God your hairdresser shouldn't have let your hair get in that condition.
Definitely better now to look at but use a very good hair treatment as the damage is still there underneath.
I was a redken colour technician for years and I definitely wouldn't have carried on colouring your hair.

Emmamoo89 · 12/01/2023 15:03

So much nicer brunette x

Talia99 · 12/01/2023 15:15

One more vote for the brown. It looks much nicer. If that blonde was professionally done, I think your hair dresser needs to go back for more training (unless you insisted over her protests of course).

ihatewinter2 · 12/01/2023 15:18

This makes me want to dye mine dark! It looks fab on you!

BungleandGeorge · 12/01/2023 15:22

It was too light before, it definitely looks healthier now. Can’t tell from the pic but sometimes with ageing people need to go for a lighter brown over time so perhaps get a few highlights or go for a slightly lighter tone next time if you feel it’s a bit harsh?

catandcoffee · 12/01/2023 15:24

The blonde hair looks like straw.
Your new colour is lovely and suits your skin tone really well.

Thesonglastslonger · 12/01/2023 15:35

The brown suits your skin way better.

The blond was almost white, kinda like a Barbie doll. I don’t think that colour suits anyone except the very young.

Try the brown for a few weeks then if you want to get a few golden highlights. But not white blond!

CatWithARabbit · 12/01/2023 15:37

It looks so much better ! And a lovely shade too

RambamThankyouMam · 12/01/2023 15:38

Gosh it looks so much better!

Dontjudgeme101 · 12/01/2023 15:40

l love your hair being brown. Is looks amazing!

DottieUncBab · 12/01/2023 15:40

Definitely healthier brown, i recently did the same thing :) and my hair looks so much better brown, yes it took some getting used to but know it’s for the best :) and now I actually prefer it

Mummyoflittledragon · 12/01/2023 15:51

I also took my hair back to a darker colour recently. Mine was not all over bleached but highlighted regularly for years This plus the hot weather last year mant it was far too light and unnatural looking. I then had just a few lighter bits put in at the next appointment and it now looks far more natural.

The brown looks far better on you.

roarfeckingroarr · 12/01/2023 15:54

It looks gorgeous brown!

I'm always tempted to go back to my natural brunette but chicken out. I did recently have about 7 inches chopped off and that made a huge difference.

Stravaig · 12/01/2023 16:10

Oh, that's much better! You'll soon adjust to the reflection in the mirror.

Try to hold off any more dye until your natural shade has grown through - at the moment it looks much healthier, but you need full regrowth for it to actually be healthier. It won't take as long as you think.

Thoughtful2355 · 12/01/2023 16:21

sorry but the first photo looks horrendous!! looks fake and cheaply done and old :( i think brown looks 20 years younger

Thoughtful2355 · 12/01/2023 16:21

Also the blonde doesnt look blonde it looks like yellow straw

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 12/01/2023 16:24

You could have some caramel put in to break it up. Looks much nice than the blonde which is very Barbara Windsor imo. It'll just take a while to get used to.

justasking111 · 12/01/2023 16:25

You might want to tweak your makeup with darker hair

CuriousMama · 12/01/2023 16:27

If you get any lighter bits put in that's more strong chemicals to lift off the brown. Please leave it alone and nourish it.

Ricco12 · 12/01/2023 17:06

It looked like straw before , it looks a million times better now.

RubyJack · 12/01/2023 18:21

It looks lovely :)
