I have been bleaching my hair for over 4 years
It ended up so thin and snapping plus wispy at the ends
Anyway I got my hair dyed back brown yesterday and just feel awful
I don't even look like me anymore
It's so intense
Did I do the right thing?

I was, however, thinking if this would work
At my roots they are silver (with some dark brown left) and very noticable so I MIGHT just get a T Section done with platinum blondes to mix with the white roots as I do want it to grow out and see exactly what I have .

nowwhherredowestay · 12/01/2023 12:46

So much nicer darker! It looks lovely

Tobermoryeveryday · 12/01/2023 12:46

Your new hair looks awesome!0

I also recently dyed my hair back brown from blonde for same reasons. At first I hated it and my kids told me I looked like snape which was not helpful 😂 but it’s faded to a lighter brown now and is the same colour as my eyebrows which seems to make my eyes stand out more and I really like it. I’ve also been using olaplex serum, a hair mask (garnier) and had a keratin treatment on it and it feels and looks so healthy. I’ve noticed I can style it loads easier now too as it’s not frazzled. I think from your pics you really suit the brown and it looks lovely.

Waystation · 12/01/2023 12:50

It looks so much better. Very healthy.

Georgeskitchen · 12/01/2023 13:06

Looks great. I recently did the same, takes a little.time to adjust but I feel much better now

DaVariance · 12/01/2023 13:10

You did the right thing for sure. I might fade a bit

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 12/01/2023 13:15

It looks really nice.

catmademedoit · 12/01/2023 13:23

Love it ! Really healthy , natural and smooth

SirVixofVixHall · 12/01/2023 13:29

It looks good ! I had all my bleached hair cut off, I grew about half an inch of roots and then had a very radical crop. It was so stretchy and fragile, there was no point in putting a dye in my natural light brown colour over the top. So I think yours looks good OP. You might need very regular trims and to lose a bit more of the length, but intensive treatments and care should bring the condition back. I really miss my blonde too, so I understand. But having hair in reasonable condition automatically makes it look better.
As your own colour grows through you could have some lighter areas put through it, if you feel not yourself with darker hair.

I wish in a way I had got a few caramel pieces put in so it wasn't so one colour (if that makes sense )
I'm booked back in in 6 weeks so I might get them to add some
But maybe it will fade

It will fade for sure. I love it, lovely colour.

Consufed · 12/01/2023 13:37

It looks lovely and healthy with the brown. You could have a few highlights around the face if you want to feel 'brighter'

JamSandle · 12/01/2023 13:39

I think your hair looks gorgeous and much healthier darker.

MBM · 12/01/2023 13:41

Second pic is much better :)

MrsTag · 12/01/2023 14:07

I bet that has taken about 15 years off you!

lookinbaxn · 12/01/2023 14:10

@MrsTag funny you should say that because my friend said it made me look younger

100% the brown. It'll lighten and next time you can put in a few caramel highlights but definitely stick to the brown. Looks great!

OnMyWayToSenility · 12/01/2023 14:15

The dye will start to fade after a while and you'll have more blonde coming through.
I really like it brown btw

Nat6999 · 12/01/2023 14:17

Get some treatments on your hair at least once a week, put a moisturising deep treatment on & leave on at least a couple of hours or overnight, put one of those plastic showercaps on & a towel over the top to build up heat to get the moisture back in your hair.

Iknowthis1 · 12/01/2023 14:18

It's much nicer brown. The heavy bleach was a bit old fashioned looking.

AllOfThemWitches · 12/01/2023 14:25

Were you bleaching it at home or getting it done professionally?

NothingBut · 12/01/2023 14:29

It looks really nice! It will fade so why don’t you wait and see what it’s like by your next appointment?

SoupDragon · 12/01/2023 14:31

The brown looks way better!

lookinbaxn · 12/01/2023 14:33

@AllOfThemWitches I was getting it done at the salon yet still went like straw

lookinbaxn · 12/01/2023 14:34

@NothingBut yeah I'm going too -I think it will grow on me (she hopes ha ha )
