The Body Shop has discontinued my favourite vitamin e one and everything else I've tried makes them worse. Recommendations please.

Eucerin Acute Lip Balm or, assuming you are not allergic, pure lanolin nipple cream (really!). You will need to warm it a bit before applying in this weather.

TeaMistress · 14/12/2022 11:57

I really like the nuxe balm. Lovely texture and very soothing and hydrating for chapped lips.

TheArtfulScreamer1 · 14/12/2022 12:04

I love Elizabeth Arden 8hr balm as a lip salve or as pp said lanolin nipple cream.

alwaysonadiet1 · 14/12/2022 12:08

Thanks everyone. I've tried some of these without success so I'm going to try the nipple cream. What a great idea!

I've never found anything as good as lansinoh when my lips are really dry and it lasts for ever!

Isabellla · 14/12/2022 12:19

Blistex

This with bells on!

Doliveira · 14/12/2022 12:30

Apologies if this is a redundant suggestion, just thought I’d mention that taking fish oil supplements and drinking lots of water really helped my dry lips.

MoggyMittens23 · 14/12/2022 12:31

Burts Bees ultra conditioning lip balm. By far the best (IMO!!)

MassiveSalad22 · 14/12/2022 12:32

Lansinoh for sure

ShakespearesSisters · 14/12/2022 12:37

Lanolin is amazing. Stays on for ages. If you are putting it on before bed use an old pillowcase. Found out during breastfeeding that if on clothing washing doesn't seem to remove the greasy marks. Lots of tops had two tell tale marks over my boobs before I realised.
Good inside the nostrils too if they are feeling dry and around outside if sore from blowing. Great multi use product 👍🏻

Theoldwoman · 14/12/2022 12:37

Rawleighs medicated ointment
L’Occitane
Vaseline

Zoetrope1 · 14/12/2022 12:38

I second the nuxe honey lip balm (both the stick and pot versions)

For a lovely thick, occlusive option I recommend:
Ceravae healing ointment
Drunk elephant wonderwild miracle butter

Both of these are multifunctional - great for dry lips and dry, irritated skin in general

AriettyHomily · 14/12/2022 12:39

Blistex here too it's the only ones that actually penetrates rather than sitting on top

MischiefTheChicken · 14/12/2022 12:49

Once my lips have gone dry/chapped, only Vaseline will properly heal them. Clinique All About Lips is helpful for staying on top of the situation although I try and ration it so only use it in the winter months. I also like Pura Cosmetics balms and scrubs.

This. I won’t use anything else now.

I really like the nuxe balm. Lovely texture and very soothing and hydrating for chapped lips.

This is the only balm that stops my lips splitting. I only use it once a day before I go to bed. You only need a tiny bit.

OhWifey · 14/12/2022 13:09

Lansinoh again here. Went cold turkey from using Vaseline 5 million times a day and now just use the Lansinoh nipple cream before bed

Danana · 14/12/2022 13:10

I love Cymex, it seems to fix my lips the quickest.

TheFormidableMrsC · 14/12/2022 13:12

O'Keefes lip balm is absolutely amazing. About 4 quid in Sainsburys.

StrawberryPot · 14/12/2022 13:15

I get very dry flakey lips and find Carmex works best for me. Doesn't just sit on top of the skin the way some lip salves do. Cheap too!

8 hour cream is the best.

I just saw something where they tested a load of different lip balms for effectiveness and Burt’s Bees did come out on top.
