The Body Shop has discontinued my favourite vitamin e one and everything else I've tried makes them worse. Recommendations please.

Nuxe

Aloe lips by forever living wins my vote. I tried a few of the recommendations on here. Thanks all.

Blistex intensive moisturiser is the only one that helps me. Since I've had covid I've turned into a dried out husk and now my lips are the only thing on me with any moisture.

Lip Warrior. Find it on Etsy.

I really like the nuxe balm. Lovely texture and very soothing and hydrating for chapped lips.

I love the Nuxe one too but I've never used it on cracked lips. I think the Blistex one is best for this but not sure what they call it now...

Eve Lom kiss mix lip treatment. Bit pricey but lasts ages and feels really luxurious.

Rainbowshit · 29/12/2022 22:55

Blistex, the one in the metal tube. Nothing else works.

Sorry it wasn't any good for you :(

Don't be sorry, I enjoy trying random items recommended on Mumsnet - I'm probably going to try the Blistex next.

If you're going to try blistex you need to get the one in the metal tube.

Blistex Relief Cream, soothing protective lip cream, medicated lip treatment for cracked and sore lips, 5g, White (2 Pack) amzn.eu/d/gvpVsn6

Ooh, looks medical! I'll try it thanks.

I have an enormous tub of pure Shea butter costing less than £10 from this place:

www.amphora-aromatics.com/natural-skin-care/natural-moisturisers/shea-butter-coconut-moisturisers/whipped-shea-butter-plain-120ml-single-info.

I mix essential oils that I like into a couple of teaspoons of the butter and it lasts me a couple of months. I only need to use it in the mornings now. I keep the tub in the fridge to help it last better. So far the latest pot has lasted two years and there's still plenty left. The only difficulty is getting tiny pots to put the finished 'product' in.

As a few PP said, specifically this one - it’s a different formula. Did you try it OP?

I haven’t tried the Aloe one (or Bum cream!).

I bought this one after seeing it recommended on Mumsnet and it does absolutely nothing for my lips. It really is a case of horses for courses with lip balms I think.

Stewball01 · 30/12/2022 14:11

Labello. You'll have to Google it.

Speedmacarons · 30/12/2022 14:13

O’Keefe’s overnight lip balm. Saving my bacon as I spend a lot of time outdoors in all weathers

ginggung · 30/12/2022 14:15

I use Dr organic coconut lip balm in the squeeze tube. I often bite and pick my lips but after 1 application with this it smooths my lips and moisturises really well.

PuppyPerson · 30/12/2022 14:23

I really swear by this lip balm, made by Caro's Creams: www.etsy.com/uk/listing/561082643/organic-lavender-lemon-lip-balm-zero
I've always suffered with sore dry lips, (especially like clockwork when I am pre menstrual so for me I think it is something hormonal, not just about needing a barrier cream to protect against cold dry air etc).
It's a small company, cardboard tubes so no plastic, organic etc etc. I really recommend it x

Citylab · 30/12/2022 14:43

I'm enjoying the avene lip cream. I also find lots of lip balms saying and this one is great.

I love Elizabeth Arden 8hr balm as a lip salve or as pp said lanolin nipple cream.

The 8 hour one is amazing. Seems to be hypoallergenic.

I second this. I’ve tried loads of different ones and this is the most heavy duty one, best for really dry or cracked lips.

Aquaphor.
Recommended by dd1 whilst on Roaccutane with exceedingly dry cracked lips.
