M&S 12 days of Sparks - it's back!

Can't see a thread, please correct me if I'm wrong.

M&S has brought back its 12 days of Sparks offers. It was notoriously bad last year, but day 1 and I have a free hand cream to pick up in store. Not sure if I'll get the chance, but seems a stronger start than last year at least.

Yes I got the free coffee & cake too @bigTillyMint but it ran out the day before I was in store (and I forgot my beauty empties for the £5 discount)

I did however avail myself of a free coffee in Waitrose last week

Free handcream on day 1 and I'm satisfied with that. Otherwise yes it's rubbish but I don't think they could afford to give out 12 free items to everyone so I'm happy to have received one gift. For those who are getting nothing but money off vouchers that is indeed pretty rubbish.

Why don't they do a card similar to Boots and Tesco ?

Absolute rubbish scheme. 29% off a Samsung, £1 off shortbread, 20% off Xmas decs (as pp said they've got 30% off anyway).

Why bother if they can't afford to do anything meaningful?

I’ve had exactly the same in the same order.

Day 1 - bag of Percy pigs (not veggie so picked up and added to my food bank donation which is a good outcome)
Day 2 - 15% off cream liqueur
Day 3 - win tickets to Snowman
Day 4 - 20% off kitchenware
Day 5 - £1 off a shortbread lantern
Day 6 - 29% off random collection of items at Samsung

Agree with others that offers are rubbish and no incentive to go to a M&S. Happened to be near one so picked up the Percy Pigs but wouldn’t make a trip for anything offered so far

I got 29% off Samsung - pointless! So far the only free thing I’ve had is Percy Pigs which I don’t like. Otherwise just money off things I would never buy. Very disappointing. I did get a load of food offers recently which I tried to use but I’d picked up the wrong type of mushrooms, steak and chicken so none of them worked!

Also got the Samsung 29% off shite I can't afford anyway - f*ing useless.

It seems that the free gifts mostly came on days 1 and 2 and after that it’s just been offers. Pull you in and then constantly disappoint!

It looks like everyone got the Samsung rubbish today.

This is worse than last years - at least we got 20% off women's wear and the like.

i presume the point of this offer is to increase footfall into stores? If I won something decent I would pop it and then probably buy x/y/z as well but nothing has enticed me in yet!

I was interested to find out if the Sparks offers differ between the UK and ROI because I'm in ROI and I'm not getting the alcohol offers that the UK Sparks are getting. I wonder if they might be for later on (fingers crossed).

I got Samsung as well. Absolute rubbish. Just give me 20% off store wide instead of this shite.

It really is very underwhelming (again), isn't it. I think it might be worse than last year's, and we've not even had Gary Barlow make an appearance yet.

I'm very jealous of people who have had free alcohol or chocolate or anything remotely worthwhile. Mine has been:

15% off Christmas crisps
32% off Tonies
20% off towels
£1 off shortbread light up lantern

At this point, I'm only checking it every day in the hope that the "special" offer if you unlock all 12 is worth having. Although now, I'm fully expecting that one to be something like 10p off a pack of Stilton

I'm jealous of anybody who's been able to claim their free gift regardless of what it was, since I've just been to get my hand cream again and got nowhere again.

Haven't claimed my hand cream yet but it's now updated with other options if out of stock - pillow mist, body lotion and a make up bag I think so perhaps they're learning and at least offering alternatives.
The % off deals haven't been useful to me so will claim the hand cream (or alternative) in the next couple of days when I'm passing and hope for gin or Prosecco!

Have you checked the app as mine has now been updated with a few alternatives if out of stock?

I got my free Percy Pigs and Crumpets.
The frozen red cabbage for Christmas Fay was 15% off.
I'd still prefer a less convoluted loyalty card. 🙄

I have now, thank you! I looked at the apothecary range the other day when I was trying to find the hand cream, so I might just nip back tomorrow and get something else .

It's only a minor inconvenience for me because I have an M&S a couple of minutes away plus a big one another fifteen minutes walk or so, but I would be mightily hacked off if I'd gone out of my way. It's not like most of us have nothing else to do this time of year, after all.

Day 3 32% off Tonies (no idea what this is)
Day 4 20% off decorations
Day 5 £1 off shortbread light up lantern
Day 6 Up to 29% off Samsung

Seems like they got everyone hyped on day one but it's been crap ever since. The light up lantern is nice though, costs £5 to buy.
