Hey all, think I missed a whole thread!

Anyway v excited for Advent. Slightly hmmmm that I bought at fullish price (just some cashback) but hey, happy to have Liberty and CB to start next week #excited

Pinenu · 27/11/2022 10:05

LiB is back on TikTok at 99.50 for those who want it.

I have space in my life for one more calendar to put away for next year and then I’m done. Unless of course some real discounts come on in the sales then I might be tempted.

I hope this thread keeps going after the opening threads so we can still share deals/have a safe space without judgement 😁

InfinityOrUndefined · 27/11/2022 10:05

LF has code EXTRA15 to take 15% off if you are interested in their calendars.

Pinenu · 27/11/2022 10:14

Up circle has 43% off the calendar.

Bobbi Brown has 30% off plus a free gift with £50 spends code CYBER25.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what to do with AC boxes after everything has been opened? The JL box is lovely and the Body Shop is a thing of beauty, with 3D paper cut outs. I haven’t the room or the inclination to hoard but it seems a shame to stick them out in the recycling box. If anyone here would like the boxes for their own AC purposes, I’d be happy to post on, assuming the mailing costs aren’t too ridiculous.

clary · 27/11/2022 10:42

@EmmatheStageRat I have sold last years on ebay for £7-10 this year.

Yes please!

Is anyone else with multiple calendars / a closet full of products worried about using everything before they go off. I know most products have a decent shelf life but sunscreen / vit c in particular don’t.

Passmeaplacard · 27/11/2022 11:24

I’ve listed empty calendars on Olio before and people have collected them for things like craft storage or to make calendars for their kids

You could repurpose by making your own advent calendars for friends / family or use for storage. Planning with Crystal on YouTube who does a lot of unboxings said her father in law loves them for sorting nuts and bolts!

I realise that I am an anachronism in 2022 but I have never bought or sold on eBay! Nor do I have accounts on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok.

My teen DD is going to set up a Vinted account to sell on some clothing to raise money for a Girlguiding Rangers trip to Scandinavia next year. So maybe she could have a go at selling on the boxes there?

I will check out Olio, thanks.

Ah, that made me smile about the nuts and bolts. My beloved dad died last year and I’m sure he would have appreciated the boxes to sort his war baby collection of screws etc in his pristine workshop that is a cross between a Wilko’s and a B&Q!

Just to add, the attached JL stores have stock of the AC; stores can and will organise free delivery of goods.

apologies - I know it’s not advent calendar related but asking the experts.

DS wants some Aqua De Parma aftershave, it’s 20% off in JL , but would anywhere else be better to buy it with better discount or a gift?

AprilLady · 27/11/2022 12:40

@Eve allbeauty have an Acqua di Parma special offer on today - worth looking on there:

Try Escentual, Notino or All Beauty.

Pinenu · 27/11/2022 14:07

Sephora have a gwp worth £200 with a £150 spend. Their AC is £139 currently.

AprilLady · 27/11/2022 15:29

So, confession time. I am both weak willed and a bad influence. I had decided against the Flannels calendar, even at the reduced price. I was relieved when it sold out online, removing temptation. Then today I walked passed a Flannels store. They were still advertising it in the window. They had one open next to the till. I looked at for a while, then asked the price (still £119). I gave up and went for it. There was a woman at the till next to me who said “How much?” And then pointed to one of the items that alone retails for c£60, and immediately decided “I’ll have one too”. So we both walked out with our big bags.

6poundshower · 27/11/2022 15:52

Is the Sephora advent sold out? I can't see a buy button

Also I think it might be excluded from the gwp, massive shame if so

loz12345 · 27/11/2022 15:58

Sephora has been sold out for over a week I think (I was lucky and managed to get one)

gogohmm · 27/11/2022 15:58

If any of you are looking for calendars still for teens, especially young adults, we bought canvas advent calendars today and filled each pocket with beauty and toiletries for each of the DD's. Meant we could tailor to each

Pinenu · 27/11/2022 16:04

@6poundshower It looks like. Odd as I received an email advertising it with a ‘buy now’ underneath its picture but there’s no option to buy it on the website.

@AprilLady that sounds entirely unavoidable.

@Eve, it’s also worth trying TK Maxx; my local store has the cologne in the yellow box in stock currently.

KimmySchmitt · 27/11/2022 17:05

@AprilLady Fantastic, I love the in-person enabling 😂 it's a bargain though! How were you both meant to resist?
