Surprisingly great but cheap perfumes

I tested a New Look perfume, which was strategically displayed at the till yesterday and really liked it. I am certainly not their target customer (a couple of decades beyond)😂and I might actually go back to but it.

I find most perfumes way to overpowering and was surprised that this one was rather lovely. Which perfumes have you found in unexpected places?

The Superdrug Artiscent range! All great & last ages. Usually on offer for around £5.

Had compliments about them too

The Nivea/Nivea Sun are lovely I wear them everyday and a few have said how lovely it smells on me

The only perfume I get regular compliments from people on is Britney Spears fantasy.

I bought it for nostalgia reasons (my dad brought it back from duty free when I was tween) but I get multiple compliments every time I wear it. People are always a bit confused when I say it’s eau du Britney.

I have many beautiful, more expensive perfumes but clearly they aren’t as loved!

Some of the Milton lloyd dupes are great.
You can google a smells like list.
My favourites so far have been the dupes for Tom Ford Black Orchid, Giorgio and Coco.
All just over £5 on Amazon.
I agree with pp who said some of the M&s perfumes are great, and I have also been complimented on SJP Lovely recently, although I personally prefer a stronger perfume with more longevity.
A lot of people like Elizabeth Ardens Green Tea - it's very nice but, again, too subtle for me.

I buy a bottle of this every summer. It is beautifully green and fresh smelling but with incredible projection and longevity.

I love Cabotine too - beautiful scent and lasts ages

Ariana Grande's Cloud perfume is said to be a dupe for the trendy and much more £££ Baccarat Rouge 540

It's gorgeous, I get so many comments when I wear it. It's a bit sweeter but I prefer it

Next perfumes are nice - I promised myself I wouldn't buy any more but tested Next Candied Flowers and love (and bought) it 😆

I came on to say about the Britney Spears one. I've not actually got it but heard it's really nice. I've asked for it for Xmas and I'm 43!

I grabbed a bottle of Aldi's Jo Malone dupe in Poppy and Barley the other day and it's lovely. Cost &5.99.Lasts no time at all but at that price I can keep topping up!

Zara - Red Temptation is amazing! Only £20

I really like M&S Discover range, they’re so cheap and there’s such a big range. Personally I tend to mix my fragrances rather than just wear one alone, so you end up with something a little more unique to you. This range is perfect for mixing as the fragrances are simple and clean.

Elizabeth Arden green tea is lovely, light and cheap. Always get compliments.

Today I’m wearing Adam Levine - it’s a dirty vanilla and cheap as chips - probably in the bargain bin at the chemist.

I'm old-school but I like Calvin Klein Obsession, which is usually about £20 for a 100ml bottle these days.

Some of the Zara ones are OK, although they never last long.

I bought this when it first came out years ago and adored it.

Not sure why I stopped wearing it, but will be getting myself a bottle for Christmas!

From reading his sexts to his mistress 'dirty vanilla and cheap' seems appropriate!
