If you could only shop from three clothing brands….

What would they be and why?
For you, not your DC and no cheating with multi brand retailers like Next. Next = Next own brand.

Do I have to stick to a budget?

Because I would be shopping entirely at Vivienne Westwood, Missoni and Roger Vivier for shoes.

Reality - in a good week, on Vinted😢

Mushroo · 06/11/2022 09:43

Yes based on my actual budget:
h and m
zara
mango

I find them all good value and like the basic plain pieces - I’m not one for florals. The only issue is I get my jeans from Next petite but I’d just have to cope!

PassThePortMrsNorris · 06/11/2022 09:45

H&M
Lucy & Yak
Oliver Bonas

ChakaKhanfan · 06/11/2022 09:46

Wood Wood
Margaret Howel
Issey Miyaki

Tu (hear me out - great lounge wear and underwear and lots of choice that changes regularly)

Fat Face - dresses and denim in fun prints

M&S - because I'm struggling to think of another one that has a lot of choice and also does short length jeans!

Coconut80 · 06/11/2022 09:47

Baukjen, Boden,Marks

Tartifletti · 06/11/2022 09:50

Cos, Whistles, Sezane. Assuming I am allowed the odd knicker multipack with my groceries.

DiscoStusMoonboots · 06/11/2022 09:53

In reality:
Lucy and Yak
Cos
Vinted

In my dreams:
Ganni
Vivienne Westwood
Rixo

CountryCousin · 06/11/2022 09:57

Fabulous question!

In a world that will never exist I’d have a wardrobe full of wild imagining and the occasional bespoke thing from:

Amy Revier
Paul Harnden
The Row

But in the real world I’d be happy with a nice stretchy budget for

Casey Casey
Kolor
Queene & Belle

Thinking about shoes and jewellery would only make me cry …

Marks: Love their Good Move range and varied Jean / trouser length. Have found some real gems in terms of coats, dresses and jumpers there over the last few years. Good value and (some) good design. Covers everything from hats to boots and all the layers in between. Feeling a lot of Marks love at the moment, which definitely wouldn't have been the case a few years ago!

Baukjen: can be a hit or a miss but some of my nicest dresses/jackets/ t s come from here. Generally high quality.

Air and Grace: love the boots and trainers. Extremely comfortable.

BestIsWest · 06/11/2022 10:32

I pretty much only do shop from
Seasalt
Marks
Fitflop

vitaminC · 06/11/2022 10:56

Reiss
Comptoir des Cotonniers
Esprit

OrangePomander · 06/11/2022 11:09

M&S, purely for the jeans. I hardly ever buy anything else from them.
Seasalt, cotton and linen plain coloured basics that fit my shape and have petite lengths. I swerve most of the patterns though.
The third is hard, because I tend to buy bits and pieces from quite a few other retailers but for variety, reasonable quality and budget I’d agree with a pp and say Tu.

Partypoooooper · 06/11/2022 11:10

Next
Fatface
Joules

OrangePomander · 06/11/2022 11:11

It would be interesting to do this with footwear too.

Moonatics · 06/11/2022 11:13

Weird fish
Saltrock
Grenson

And multi packs of knickers from Asda dunno about bras yet, I'm years overdue buying any since debenham closed

IllDoItButOnlyForTheAttention · 06/11/2022 11:19

I'd have:

Fat Face for basics like jeans, tops, underwear, socks and hoodies

Finisterre for lovely wool knitwear, as I couldn't live without my Eyre cardis

Celtic and Co for sturdy leather boots and more lovely wool

That's the kind of stuff I wear, not bothered about dresses or heels.

OhMerde · 06/11/2022 11:23

Reiss
Marks
Sweaty Betty
I'm having an extra bonus shoe one....Christian Louboutin

orangeisthenewpuce · 06/11/2022 11:25

M&S because it fits me
Tu because it's value for money
George at Asda for the same reason as above

OhMerde · 06/11/2022 11:26

OrangePomander · 06/11/2022 11:11

It would be interesting to do this with footwear too.

Christian Louboutin
Rupert Sanderson
Lk Bennett

FredGarland · 06/11/2022 11:28

Hobbs
Hell Bunny
George at Asda (prevaricated between that and Tu, but I like the Asda bras more)

ErrolTheDragon · 06/11/2022 11:29

I'm short so need somewhere that does petite sizes.
With the demise of Debenhams I might want to find somewhere else that stocks Mantaray as I love their tops...though Ive probably got enough to last me for a decade.

Realistically, M&S and Next for basics, trousers, jeans.

And then the third has to be an outdoors shop. Hard to get down to one brand though, as I need berghaus for coats and fleeces, craghoppers for trousers.
