If you could only shop from three clothing brands….

What would they be and why?
For you, not your DC and no cheating with multi brand retailers like Next. Next = Next own brand.

Wood Wood
Margaret Howel
Issey Miyaki

Amazing choices.

Issey Miyake is not even in my Vestiaire/Vinted budget but I can still dream.

Floisme · 06/11/2022 11:35

Ten years ago I'd have really struggled to narrow it down to 3 brands.
Now I'm struggling to think of 3 brands.

Purplecatshopaholic · 06/11/2022 11:35

Judging by my wardrobe, All Saints and Ganni would be top two. Love their clothes, the general aesthetic and style. I buy a lot of dresses and both those brands do wonderful ones I have for years. Third place would be Vivienne Westwood as almost my entire wardrobe would be from her if i could afford it, but as it is I have to pick and choose. Again, her dresses are awesome. If we were separating shoes out, she would still be in my top three, along with Roger Vivier and Tory Burch.

tulipsunday · 06/11/2022 11:35

Whistles
Anthropologie
&other stories

KnittedCardi · 06/11/2022 11:51

Looking at what I have bought in the last couple of years, it would have to be:

Fat Face
Joules
Boden

(How terribly middle class!)

Shoes my most recent purchase have all been Jones & Co.

I don't know anything about supermarket brands as I don't go to those, and also I have never been in a designer brand shop, too intimidating. Clothes in general for me just need to be good quality, natural fabrics, and last.

KnittedCardi · 06/11/2022 11:53

Oh no..... I have just thought of White Stuff and White Company..... damn. OK get rid of Joules and Boden, and replace with about 😂. This is hard......

Satsuma2 · 06/11/2022 11:56

Monsoon
Fatface
Boden

I buy most of my clothes off Vinted , the brands above plus Joules and Seasalt as I know what sizes fit me in each brand. I really dislike trying on clothes so stick with what I know. I would love to try stuff from Sugarhill Brighton and Mint Velvet but the thought of finding the right size and sending stuff back puts me off.

OldKingCole · 06/11/2022 12:07

Zadig & Voltaire
Alexander McQueen
Victoria Beckham

although I might have to remortgage as well 😂

CountryCousin · 06/11/2022 12:10

@TheOGCCL did you actually mean dream wardrobe or just where people shop most often right now?

Feel I might have misunderstood the brief …

Lablover678 · 06/11/2022 12:11

The Fold (workwear, jeans, shoes)
Joseph (knitwear)
Talbot Runhof (occasionwear)

Caramac555 · 06/11/2022 12:11

Mint velvet
Tu
Boden

NancyJoan · 06/11/2022 12:15

Arket
H&M
Kin at JL

(this is too hard, like choosing a favourite child).

SmokedHaddockChowder · 06/11/2022 12:16

Boden.
Jigsaw.
Hobbs.
This is pretty much where my entire wardrobe comes from. They are great for classic staples.

Verite1 · 06/11/2022 12:17

Me and Em
Whistles
Third one harder. Probably Sézane, or Baukjen. Or maybe Sandro or Maje if I’m feeling flush!

scoutcat · 06/11/2022 12:20

Probably M&S, Hush and Sezane although the latter two are not in my budget at the moment. I just adore their ranges!

Couldn't choose anyone like Zara or H&M etc for their ethics - although I'm sure M&S are no better!

TheOnlyBeeInYourBonnet · 06/11/2022 12:27

Uniqlo
Ted Baker
Lululemon

Ticksallboxes · 06/11/2022 12:32

For the past few years I've only ever really shopped at:

The White Company
Baukjen
M&S

The White Company has dipped a bit in quality recently but still does lovely tops, jumpers and summer dresses that are always really on trend (for want of a better word).

Baukjen because the quality is fantastic, so even though it's quite casual, you still feel pulled together, and their things really, really last.

M&S has good and bad seasons (great this season in general). Their £20 Ivy skinny jeans are brilliant- not too tight so tend to look straight rather than unfashionably skinny. Plus they are getting increasingly good at copying more expensive brands and trends, particularly with shoes.

Eaumyword · 06/11/2022 12:42

Boden
M&S
John Lewis own brand

Magpiecomplex · 06/11/2022 12:47

M&S for everyday jeans and trousers, because they fit me, plus underwear
Seasalt for everyday tops and dresses
Bombshell for special occasion wear

And I'd just have to look longingly at the Sugarhill jumpers which I love

Stoic123 · 06/11/2022 12:48

Marks
Cos
Toast

Enko · 06/11/2022 12:48

Sahara London
White company
if money was no object Max Mara weekend but if money had to feature in then Live unlimited

SoupDragon · 06/11/2022 12:50

I think my entire wardrobe is basically Esprit and Primark. I can't think of a third (other than TK Maxx and that doesn't qualify)

TheOGCCL · 06/11/2022 13:01

@CountryCousin Either, great to see actual or aspirational!

OP posts:
Spaceprincess · 06/11/2022 13:26

Free People
TopShop
Manners London

OrangePomander · 06/11/2022 13:30

OhMerde · 06/11/2022 11:26

Christian Louboutin
Rupert Sanderson
Lk Bennett

For me it’s:
Fly London
Merrell
Clarks

But choice is limited due to awkward foot shape and a refusal to wear uncomfortable shoes!
