What would they be and why?
For you, not your DC and no cheating with multi brand retailers like Next. Next = Next own brand.

M&S for everyday jeans and trousers, because they fit me, plus underwear
Seasalt for everyday tops and dresses
Bombshell for special occasion wear

And I'd just have to look longingly at the Sugarhill jumpers which I love

I’ve been looking at the Sugarhill jumpers too, but can’t justify cost at the moment. I have a couple of skirts already that I wear to death.

SwedishEdith · 06/11/2022 13:35

Uniqlo
M&S
Gap - but reluctantly now since absorbed by Next.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/11/2022 13:49

Arket
&OtherStories
Levi's - I feel like this is a limiting choice since their core offering is denim, but their jeans are the best.

RuthW · 06/11/2022 13:54

Popsy, Matalan and Jd Williams

Vermin · 06/11/2022 13:58

BA&SH
whistles
zara or cos

footwear complicated as none of them do half sizes and I am very definitely a half size

Spanielsarepainless · 06/11/2022 14:02

Lands End for all sorts
Seasalt for tops and jerseys
Hotter for shoes

M&S have stopped doing the underwear I like so I don't go there much, though their jeans are an excellent fit.

Floisme · 06/11/2022 14:06

Ok this is based on the brands I'm most familiar with and therefore my current, as opposed to my fantasy, life and budget.

Uniqlo - but I'm keeping an eye on M&S and I'd love to see them get back on track.
Zara - a wasted choice in some ways, except they still very occasionally come up with something inspired that I never see at a similar pricepoint.
Second hand or sales Margaret Howell.

I may have left myself shoe-less.

Topbird29 · 06/11/2022 14:10

M & s and tu. Have a big bust, and size 20 so m&s covers underwear, sleepwear and jeans. Got some nice dresses there last year.Found tu is good for basics. Like clarks boots

Get most of kids stuff in tu or next

Sling · 06/11/2022 14:18

Torn between Uniqlo and Marks - I just switched to Uniqlo for all my undies but I love M&S jeans
Daughters of India for dresses but then I live in a hot country
Lululemon for leggings, hoodies and their dance joggers

Aspirational (possibly financially figure and indeed lifestyle!)
The Row
Vivienne Westwood
Eres again probably a hot country thing

QueenWenceslas · 06/11/2022 14:22

The vast majority of my wardrobe is made up of Topshop, River Island and All Saints so they’re my three.

CountryCousin · 06/11/2022 14:23

Please share your fantasy list, @Floisme !

Kwackerly · 06/11/2022 14:26

Hush, marks, zara.

Marks covers a lot of underwear/ sporty/ basics, hush for lovely work wear and going bits that fit really well on me, zara for the fun fast fashion side and some really nice coats/ shoes etc.

AnnaMagnani · 06/11/2022 11:32

Amazing choices.

Issey Miyake is not even in my Vestiaire/Vinted budget but I can still dream.

I know so many beautiful pieces. My husband brought me a dress back from Tokyo which thanks to yen conversion was very reasonably priced, just need to get yourself over there 😌

Mommabear20 · 06/11/2022 14:48

I literally only shop at primark anyway 😂

Laurdo · 06/11/2022 14:51

Tommy Hilfiger for everyday casual, Ralph Lauren for everyday, evening wear, coats and Nike for gym wear.

Ohchristmastreeohchristmastree · 06/11/2022 14:58

I pretty much only shop in H and M anyway, but I’d add Monki and Marks and Spencer’s (for undies) to complete the three!

Ooherr that's hard because, if I had that fantasy budget I'd know a lot more about the fantasy brands. But I realise I'm overthinking it so...

Still Margaret Howell
Dior because right now I'm loving their take on 1947 - the Bar Jackets with long skirts or wide leg trews.
And then I'd want a Zara equivalent - a bit of fun and innovation. Until recently I'd have said Vivienne Westwood but I'm not so sure now.

MintChocCornetto · 06/11/2022 15:01

Massimo Dutti
Cos
Free People

In reality: chazza shops & vinted

ClaraMint · 06/11/2022 15:07

My faves:
Esprit
Hush
Timberland

FinallyHere · 06/11/2022 15:07

Next (lift shape jeans)

Royal Robbins activewear

Georgio Armani

(Plus Dylon pre-dye and dye to solve the problem of searching everywhere for things in the right colours)

DramaAlpaca · 06/11/2022 15:15

M&S for basics, classics and underwear
Cos because I like their style aesthetic and being tall it suits me
Hush for their floaty dresses and my gorgeous leather jacket

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 06/11/2022 15:49

Uniqlo
East
Ecco (for shoes)

Underwear and socks could be an issue, Uniqlo do bras, pants and socks so I could make do but I would rather have my lovely Empreinte bras than the Uniqlo version.

Catsservant · 06/11/2022 15:51

H&M ladies premium range
Arket

Above 3 shops as they do natural material wool, cashmere and cotton

ErrolTheDragon · 06/11/2022 18:06

Lands End for all sorts

Oh... I forgot lands end. That's my go-to for T-shirts, cardis and nightwear, occasionally other items.
