OK, I am chief bridesmaid for best friend at big castle wedding in June. Her dress is big and fabulous. The other bridesmaid is approaching 6 foot and is less curvy than I. I am 5 foot 5 with tits and an arse. This is the dress that the other bridesmaid and bride prefer. The bride would never let me wear something I hated but time is of the essence and it is not easy to get together again and re-choose. I have a habit of being petulant and rebelling if I haven't made the choice myself and may be doing that in this instance like a sulky teenager. The dress pictured is a Dessy one (no 2043) and is sampled in blue, but the actual dress will be in chocolate brown. Do I look as horrendous in it as I do in my own head? Obviously it needs altering, but I think my hips look huge!! and yes, I have my magic knickers on already, but I don't think I was wearing heels. Pics on profile.

when i got amrried i didnt have any bridesmaids but if i had i would let them wear wahtever they wanted, not just choose a dress for them because it fitted in with my 'theme'

sorry but i think its a shame

i am struggling to remember the name of those low cut at the back bras, like the one i said i had when i got married. A normal strapless would have shown thru on mine too.

pirategirl · 29/01/2008 13:09

its called a longline bra

SoupDragon · 29/01/2008 13:09

"you clearly dont love it"

I don't think a bridesmaid has to love the dress, she just needs to feel comfortable and look good in it.

pirategirl · 29/01/2008 13:10

they come strapless.

Fireflyfairy2 · 29/01/2008 13:11

I like it

Anyway, it doesn't matter if you like it or not... it's the bride's choice

My sister got married last year & her b'maids were champagne, they were gorgeous! But the style was very plain & one of the b'maids didn't like the dress at all as she wanted to wear something fancier

I don't want to put the added pressure on her to start moaning about the dress and it is not really possible to start looking again. I'm going on my own on Thursday to try it again, I will try to be more objective.

Oh I am not moaning about the style of the dress, I agree its the brides choice BUT I don't want to feel self conscious all day though.
