My Flannels calendar arrived too 😊 it’s huge and heavy! I’m not sure it will go down well having all of my calendars lined up to open over December! I may have to save one for January, or just open one now 😬

The Harrods website is working for me….I even went to checkout after adding the calendar. It’s a bit of a weird one…not a big tech person, so have no worldly advice. It might be worth trying their customer service and purchase over the phone.

AnnieSnap · 20/11/2022 17:46

I’m still feeling very pleased with mine. I just can’t justify even pushing toward £100, let alone more, for one because I buy far too many clothes and fabric/patterns for dressmaking (I have to have some discipline 😳). I bought the M&S calendar. I’ll love it and use nearly all of the products. I really wanted the NUXE, but steadfastly resisted until I found it (a few weeks ago) reduced to £65. So I have to two to enjoy. I agree the Flannels looks lovely, but I can only use so much skincare stuff, can’t wear mascara or eyeliner and I would feel guilty buying it 😇

I know it’s even more frustrating for you in Ireland too as you are so much more limited in what you can order. Bloomin’ Brexit. The gift that keeps on giving. With no bloody discounts!

I guess the advantage of brexit is that i can't give in to temptation as they don't ship to us 😁

I’ve never had the M&S one but it always look great value and lovely products. I didn’t buy any calendars last year as I moved house this time last year, so I’m making up for it now! I haven’t bought as many clothes this year as I normally do as I’m either in work clothes, pyjamas or old gardening clothes. I’d love to do some dressmaking, used to love textiles at college many moons ago…you must be very talented, what a lovely vice to have. 😊

CorporateBull · 20/11/2022 20:22

We have MiL her M&S calendar today and she was thrilled. We did though admit to not having paid £300 for it, which is what the sticker on the front made her think!

HashtagShitShop · 20/11/2022 21:24

22ADVENT makes the look fantastic advent calendar £74.10
LFHONEY20 makes it £76.

It will be very interesting come Friday to see what the offers are on actual Black Friday or next Monday for cyber Monday

I’m a beginner, but I have made a few things I’m pleased with and learning all the time 🙂

I really recommend the M&S calendar if you can find it in stock in a store.

I’ve done a ruthless pre-advent beauty cupboard clear-out tonight and confronted the quantity of products I’ve already got … it’s a lot. A lot.

And that’s before I have opened my calendars (SNK and H&B) 👀

I really recommend doing it though. I got fully into it with cleaning products, cup of tea on the side (later wine), podcast on in the background. Looked at each thing and chucked anything lurking that was past its best.

The shiny neatness of everything being lined up and sorted has reawakened the enjoyment I had kind of lost lately, through weighing up the economic benefits of various offers.

why though, why have I got so much perfume, I don’t even wear it every day

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 21/11/2022 07:19

@LemonJuiceFromConcentrate I did this at the start of October when I ordered my CB calendar, gave a few bits away that I realised I probably wouldn't use and made a conscious effort to use some other bits up. It's amazing how much I've managed to get through since then (lots of smaller sizes of things that were cluttering it up but only took a few days to get through). My basket is now on the empty-er side so I'm looking forward to my calendar and LiB skincare edit!

Housewife2010 · 21/11/2022 07:31

I'm surprised that the Flannels AC is still in stock after being hugely discounted on Friday night. I ordered it quickly on Saturday morning as I was sure it would sell out quickly at that price. Mine is arriving today.

Peridot1 · 21/11/2022 08:38

I need to do a big sort out of my stash too. I have way too much. I’m planning a spreadsheet for my skincare stuff. And a good sort out of makeup. I’ve loads of lipsticks I just don’t wear. Colours just not quite right etc. And I don’t wear makeup every day. Might start again just to use it up!

I’m sticking at just one advent calendar though no matter what the discounts!

And a serious no spend 2023.

supadupapupascupa · 21/11/2022 08:43

I log mine in a spreadsheet and note down what I like and don't like. I put the month year and where I got from too so I can use up in order and know where to repurchase. Stops my hoard getting too large and I know what's next to use

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 21/11/2022 09:05

Oh I love a spreadsheet I can't believe I never thought of that! That's todays job sorted...

PosiePerkinPootleFlump · 21/11/2022 09:15

Dammit! I have the Flannels calendar arriving today and already have the Liberty one. I've never even bought one before.
On the lookout for one to appeal to mid-teen, as well as make up based one for 11 year old who complains she hasn't been allowed make up thus far, if anyone has any ideas

Thank you I will check Sephora out

Adventadventures · 21/11/2022 09:40

ASOS or Body Shop is usually quite good for that age group. Revolution/Sleek/Benefit calendars are popular for cheap make up . All of which have been on sale/reduced so look out for a bargain (Body Shop was on Brand Alley not sure if it is still there). Asos tends to have flash sales so if you are interested in that one wait for a sale
Sephora does look good too @gianfrancogorgonzola

ELLE is now £99

caroleanboneparte · 21/11/2022 10:30

I've just seen a Black Friday add for the origins one.

It says £74.25 for £164 worth. Plus a gift set worth £78 when spend over £45.

I've already got M&S, JL and Selfridges but I'm so tempted.

EmmatheStageRat · 21/11/2022 11:01

Just to say if anyone is having a clear out and doesn’t want to sell on, please do think about putting products in your food bank bin to spread a little festive cheer.

KirstenBlest · 21/11/2022 11:09

I'm not sure that the unwanted face mask is edible, even if it says Vegan on it.

Food banks also take hygiene and beauty products.

KirstenBlest · 21/11/2022 11:23

I usually donate unopened beauty products to the charity shop, but have donated essential hygiene products to the food bank. I suppose I could check what they take

Gutting. I bought it for my daughter.
