Agreed. It is amazing value and I'm sure the makeup is excellent but none of it is anything I'd wear.

I am interested in JL and F&M if there is a heavy discount.

I keep looking to see if F&M has been reduced. I'd be tempted by that or Harvey Nichols.

I've got a Natasha D palette in the Sephora calendar so I might give that a try. I probably only wear eyeshadow a couple of times a year though! I like lipstick, so eyeshadow on top makes me feel overdone, and I don't feel that it really does anything for me.

@MidnightMeltdown I would never dream of NOT putting shadow on a client but I have to force myself to bother on myself if I'm honest. However I always think I look better with , so should probably take my own advice!
I feel it softens me around the eye and creates a flattering .. guess what ..shadow !
What I really actually need is a lid lift 😳but they don't come in advent calendars unfortunately

I am the same, the gorgeous eyeshadow palettes in Flannels are so tempting but I know I would never use them (or use them properly). Ditto the gorgeous CT lipstick, eyelashes and Highlighter . Tragically the big appeal for flannels for me (although still not big enough to buy) is the retinol and eye cream which says all you need to know about my life!

I just know I’m going to see individual appealing things in the actual Christmas sales in a month or so — either products I regularly buy or things I’ve had an eye on for ages.

I am pretty certain I’ll get more satisfaction from those purchases than I would from another advent of ‘nice to have’ things, regardless of what good value they are. So I’m trying to resist any more advent temptation and save my ££.

I'm really pissed off about this and the discounts they've had. I bought it at full price at the begining. I definitely won't be buying so early next year.

I know, I sort of feel the same about SpaceNK, even though I think I bought it for €30 less than when it was first released.

Then I tell myself that it’s a very fortunate position to be in in the first place.

@OchonAgusOchonOh i am similarly pissed. Got CB for dd when it was released as she’s always lusted after one, but now I feel like a complete idiot for paying full price! Certainly won’t be shopping with them again. I actually think this year will be my last for venturing into the beauty advent vortex. All these discounts and fee gifts are lovely for those who hadn’t decided early on, but a major kick in the teeth for others. It’s really put me off buying again - unless the Liberty calendar appears attached to a brilliant GWP, which is vanishingly unlikely. Enjoy your calendars everyone. Over and out…………….

I completely get the frustration of buying early and not getting the discounts but I think this year was so uncertain for everyone that it was really hard for retailers to predict what would happen. CB normally sells out really quickly so presumably they made extra this year which would have been planned months ago and then bang along comes a recession. And they are discounting as don’t want to be left with them. I think they are between a rock and a hard place really.

I am happy with reductions because I haven't bought my main calendar yet. I can't afford £200+ calendar but if they get reduced I can get one.

I think the discounts are a big wake up call for everyone about the sustainability of middle and high end calendars and beauty subscriptions in the economic uncertainty so many are facing. Birchbox appears to be going under ... they have an announcement on their page that they're currently not filling any orders, even subscription boxes, and I don't think they ever managed to actually release their (pretty boxed) AC this year: www.birchbox.co.uk/

Damn you all! I had to buy the Flannels advent calendar to open in January, and before I saw it on this thread I'd never even heard of it! Such a brilliant value and I fancy some make up items. Now, come on Harrods and give us a discount or goodie bag and I'll be set up with beauty products for the year. I really want it but can't seem to pull the trigger....

The Harrods website won't load. It just hangs indefinitely.

This is the problem I've been having. Just hangs there if I try to access it when connected to wifi, but loads with no issues if I'm on my data. Everything else loads when connected to wifi so no idea why that particular page just doesn't want to load

Does anyone know anything bout MD Perricone products? I see the calendar has quite a big discount at the mo. Products are pretty tiny but wonder if they're effective?🤔

My Flannels AC has just arrived, I paid the cheaper postage when I ordered yesterday, so I’m quite impressed.

@QueefofSheena mine has just arrived too. This is ideal as DP is at work and it saves me explaining another parcel... For £7 delivery we should be getting it next day tbf! It's satisfyingly huge too.

@Peridot1 @TheDuchessOfMN I'm in agreement with you two. Yes it's annoying to pay full price when it then gets discounted but these things happen. Presumably it happens all the time, you just don't continue tracking the price of previous purchases!

@KimmySchmitt 😄 I haven’t opened my package yet, said it was ‘just Christmas stuff’ with a dismissive wave 😈 I’ll have a good look tomorrow, won’t open the drawers though. I’m trying to forget what’s in it now.

I know you are all right about the discounts but this is my first time buying a luxury brand one and in my very illogical mind, it taints it slightly.

But yes, I agree with @TheDuchessOfMN that we are in a fortunate position and I will enjoy opening it

I know it’s even more frustrating for you in Ireland too as you are so much more limited in what you can order. Bloomin’ Brexit. The gift that keeps on giving. With no bloody discounts!

It’s so heavy and so huge compared to the others!
