Couldn't agree more. I'm always looking at jeans in high street shops with ridiculously high rises. M&S never have anything mid or low.
It is true that there are quite a few low rise options around at the moment but many of these are 90s/Britney Spears inspired so they paler denim, baggy, fashion forward and not necessarily a straight forward pair of jeans.
Where are the simple straight/slim or indeed flared or wide leg mid rise jeans? I don't actually need that low rise, just something about an inch or two below my navel.
I am an apple (as in I'm not a pear) and much prefer lower rises. I think higher rises accentuate stomachs and arses, although obviously the latter is highly fashionable and imo partly why higher rises are in at the moment.
Wide legs shorten your legs so I think more often come in higher rise to lengthen the leg (not the torso).
What is infuriating is when things are labelled mid rise when in fact they are high. Sometimes things labelled low rise are actually mid rise, such is the distortion in favour of high rise. Wish online items just had the rise measurements.
Tommy Hilfiger Sophie are low rise. Molly at River Island are mid rise (skinny). I also got some Mango skinnies recently that are mid rise. Next are worth a look.
Esprit are quite good for offering a range of rises but their cords all seem very high rise.
Levi boyfriend are low to mid rise.
