I wish high waisted jeans would feck off

Why do all trousers and jeans have such high waists? 😭 I really want a pair (or five!) of wide legged jeans, but where are the low rise/mid rise ones all hiding? I'm an apple shape, and hate the feel of anything tight around my middle, lower cut jeans are so much comfier and more flattering! Any fellow apples like to share where you buy jeans and trousers, please?

Spilling over the top describes me in low rise to a tee.

I have this issue with Finisterre, love their clothes but can't buy any of the trousers die to the waists coming up to my breasts. I am not even short.

It looks sloppy if you are slender and probably cuts in if you are overweight. A hourglass figure might suit them but I will always be reminded of the 80's Twilight Zone series

A nice mid rise is ideal, everyone wins. What irks me at present is how many so-calle did rises are fucking monstrously high .....M&S I is lookin at you, with your long crotch jeans with tiny, arse fattening pocket placements.

I have narrow hips and low rise look awful on me unless I am clinically underweight. Jeans that sit on my waist are infinitely better! Even though I need a 25w to fit my waist but my hips are a size smaller.

I prefer High rise tbh as low rise don't come up high enough on my waist

Agree, tiny pockets both look terrible, and are useless when you actually want to use them! I want full size pickets on my arse and for front pockets, the same as men get!

OMG - don't get me started on rubbish pockets! Just browsing H&M - some fab ones there, thanks, and a few other sites to have a trawl through. Realised what I really want is a pair of the jeans I used to wear in my twenties, but as I also cackled at the Helen Daniels comment, they might not suit me these days 😭

I love high waist jeans, I'm fairly tall and slim ish but with a massive bum, so anything lower than high waisted and my bum is showing when I sit down. If I wore low rise half my bum would be out, no exaggeration!

I'm apple shaped and high waisted are perfect for me. The waist actually goes where my waist is.

Have a look at salsa jeans. I wear their secret range which have a high waist but they are literally the only high waisted thing I can wear without getting indigestion. They’re very comfy and flattering.

They also have an excellent returns policy.

I loathe high waisted - and the wide leg jeans are awful imho. But then I’m only 5 2, short in the body and size 8/9 - they look like clown trousers!

Love high waisted they hold in my mum tum pooch which is getting removed next month.

Those sound like my dream jeans! The best thing about being pregnant was maternity jeans with the stretchy bit you could pull up to your boobs! As my childbearing days are behind me I love the new high waisted jeans trend!

I saw the low rise trend coming and as someone who has never quite recovered from the “size 0” trend of the late 90s/ early 2000s, I do worry for young girls. You really need a completely flat stomach to pull them off.

I'm not sure I entirely understand the everything spilling out above lower rise jeans, unless you're into wearing crop tops. My top covers my jeans so hides any muffin top, either tucked or untucked.

Personally I think that's more slimming than chunky denim pulled up to your chin.

And don't get me started on the high waisted denim shorts with your bum cheeks hanging out of the bottom...

I agree with you! High waists can go to hell. I have short legs and short waist and I feel like those guys in the 1930s with their trousers tied nearly up around their chests when I wear a high waist. I actually feel suffocated thinking of them now.

I agree OP, in particular 'Mum' jeans 🙄 I'm sick of gigantic bums whichever way you turn. Do these people not realise how huge it makes their bums look?! Presumably they think they look like Beyoncé..
