Mine is Dermalogica Precleanse. Actually Dermalogica products have changed my life. I'd always had bad skin, now it's pretty amazing.

I'd love a good shampoo/conditioner recommendation.

L'Anza hair products and L'occitane hand cream

carmenelectra · 27/01/2008 09:07

Saadia i do find that mixing the foundation with a highlighting fluid makes it a better colour and easier to apply. Also i agree what you said about that it goes on better if you have just applyied lots of moisturiser.

Trolleydolly, that retinol stuff sounds great, knew you could get on precript, but didnt think of the net(know its bit naughty). I expect it gives a chemical peel effect?

Wilkie · 27/01/2008 14:05

Cheapest place for Dermalogica www.care4yourskin.com - plus they always send you free Dermalogica samples.

I have to say, people with acne prone skin, the Dermalogica range is FANTASTIC.

Thumbs up for me:

Dermalogica Dermal Clay Cleanser
Dermalogica Active Moist (moisturiser)

Palmolive soap.

I ran out of cleanser last week and washed my face in palmolive soap and guess what... My skin didn't fall off and my face is clean!

TartanTeddy · 27/01/2008 16:13

Palmers Cocoa Butter Lotion is totally ace - use it on my face as well.

Maybe i could use that retinol in the winter when theres no danger of me being tempted by the sun. Understand the importantance of sunblock.

Palmers is lovely and i actually like the smell, but i dont buy it so often cos its so thick i struggle to get it out the bottle. Its a bit like getting ketchup out!

SheikYerbouti · 27/01/2008 17:09

sugar and olive oil

Mix some up in a bowl, use it as body scrub, rinse off (i usually was off excess greasiness wioth a bit of shower gel) and your skin feels gorgeous, much more effective than any body scrub I have ever tried

Also honey on the face is good (but I am not one to liste to when we are talking about faces - aI am covered in angry zits)

Those NButogena cushion things are good as well

SheikYerbouti · 27/01/2008 17:15

Also, steaming your face a couple of times a week is good for the skin (lean over a sink of hot water with a towel over your head to keep the steam in) Try and do 5 mins

Great when you have a cold too. You need to get over looking like a complete tool as well, buit tis worth it.

I have got out of the habit of this. Mus to it before bed.

The Boots "expert" range is my new find. It's very cheap reasonably priced, designed for sensitive skins (no scent) and all the products actually work.

PatsyCline · 27/01/2008 20:44

I love my eyelash curlers and my Chanel foundation. I have had a recent obsession with the L'Oreal Glam Shine six hour lip glosses.

My hair can be very dry and the only hair range which works for me is the Nicky Clark Smooth one. It annoys me because, frankly, I think he's a PITA!

PatsyCline · 27/01/2008 20:46

Oh, meant to say that I hated Touche Eclat. I expected it to banish my dark shadows, but it just looked very obvious that I was trying to cover them up...

bluebell1 · 28/01/2008 08:57

I am loving this thread. My fave newer product is no7 protect and perfect which has made a huge difference to my skin.My fave (been using it since launched product )is dermalogica daily microfoliant.

TracyK · 28/01/2008 13:25

Tesco Skin Wisdom deep cleanse balm is the same as Eve Lom & Liz Earle cleanse and polish - only £3 odd. Just as good.

Have just started using Dr Lowe non surgical eye cream and v. impressed so far. Eye wrinkles seem softer actually whole eye area looks 'softer'. I've only been using it for a week so far.

hoarsewhisperer · 28/01/2008 14:52

Tesco deep cleansing balm - almost identical to Eve lom, but only a fiver!

other than that Avon, Avon, Avon...

the anew eye cream
the Anew ultimate night cream and serum

I don't work for Avon btw...but do have one question......why does no one ever seem to confess to using them? They have brilliant stuff and I've tried all the Christian Dior, Estee ;lauder and Chanel products which are so much more expensive, and not as good usually.

hoarsewhisperer · 28/01/2008 14:56

sorry tracy...crossed post...also i was guessing re the price of the Tesco balm!

TracyK · 28/01/2008 15:55

me too!
Is avon really good - I always browse the catalogue - but never actually buy anything.

hoarsewhisperer · 28/01/2008 16:07

well, some things are great, and some not so....like any range I guess, but the anew range is generally pretty darn good and the eye cream thingy has got rid of my fine lines that were developing. I will say that the Anew Ultimate is equivalent to the Estee lauder regenerist...but given that a pot of that is like 100 quid and the Avon equivalent is 20 odd quid...it's fabbo.

The kids ranges are also nice and the makeup is pretty good too, although havn't tried the foundation.

i just buy via the internet when there's offers on....you get alot of free goodies.

Twinkie1 · 28/01/2008 16:13

Paul Mitchell The Conditioner - can be used as a moisturiser and in place of shaving cream as well as a leave in conditioner - doesn't make hair feel gross like most leave in conditioners!

Have to say I swear by Touche Eclait and have sobbed when mine ran out on holiday!

MAC - mineral face powder - is the best if you don't want to wear clogging foundation but need something! - just swoosh it with a brush all over your face!

NARS Mascara.

And my new top tip is Estee Lauder's Revelation Face Cream - brightening & for the first signs of aging - 4 people have told me that I look glowing since I started using it! It is both a day and night cream and makes your skin feel beautiful!

monkeytrousers · 28/01/2008 19:56

The Body Shop's stick concealer is very good.

matildax · 28/01/2008 20:39

olay affinity, foaming moisturizer is really lovely, nice smell, and makes even "hungover" skin look really radiant and healthy!! rrp £25, lasts ages and is really worth the money.

spiker · 28/01/2008 20:58

Is the Liz Earle cleanse & polish like the eve lom cleanser? everybody raves about eve lom but it did terrible things to my skin...

mrsmacleod · 28/01/2008 22:33

Anyone particularly a fan of Ren or Green People products? I love Fruitful Nights from Green People and Ren's amazing rose shower gel and bath oil but would appreciate pointers for other products from them. I also second Eve Lom cleanser (I've only had a sample but is fantastic) and the Dermalogica Microfoliant.

BearMama · 28/01/2008 23:10

Prescriptives PX Oil Control Specialist - I use this on my nose and it stays matt all day.

Also any lip balm - cant do without it!
