Anyone wearing a gilet this year?

I liked the long oversized ones I saw last year but didn’t get one thinking they were a fad. They are still selling them in lots of stores and online so was thinking of getting one. I saw a short one with a hood on the M&S website from Joules which was almost exactly like I wore at least 15 years ago and it’s still in the back of a spare wardrobe. I might dig it out now!

I have this. Boyfriend hates it but I love it. Keeps me warm without feeling stuffed in the arms of a coat.

I have one like this and love it.

When my dd was little I found her a padded jacket from Boden that had a zip off hood and zip off arms to turn it into a body warmer. Bloody brilliant idea but sadly they didn’t do one for grown ups.

I ordered a couple of long black ones from John Lewis.

I looked like a slug.

Back they went.

Bought two more - one from Mountain Warehouse, the other from Barbour. Both were shaped and fitted. Cost far more but MUCH better!

I think you have to be tall & thin the wear the boiler lagging ones.

I was doing some People Watching while I was waiting for DS yesterday .
Loads of people wearing gilets

I did notice some of the longer length ones seemed quite stiff so if they were inzipped the gilet was like a tube shape when the wearer was bending etc. Probably soften up with wear.
