Is it too soon for a thread on these? I remember last year they were all coming out or going on sale in September so not too far off.

I got the spacenk one last year and it was first ever beauty advent calendar and I loved it. Still using some of the products and have gone to purchase at least five items in full size, two of them multiple times.

This year I'll get the spacenk one again but might also go for the cult beauty as well.

Title amended by MNHQ to alert folk to the presence of spoilers within the thread.

The No 7 waiting list is now open, if anyone is interested:

www.boots.com/no7-waiting-list

This is good value if you like the brand, but I will be waiting to see what's inside before making a decision.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 24/08/2022 10:11

@AprilLady I've added a ratio to go with my percentages and colour coding. Looks like CB is ahead in the interested/not bothered category. Liberty is ahead in the value of things I really like but that is flawed as Liberty is more expensive than CB (one of the items was €110 on CB and €155 on Liberty). Plus I'm not terribly bothered by that.

The main thing that is putting me off CB is the 8 hair products vs the 4 in Liberty. That said, there are 6 more items in CB. I still haven't ruled out LF fully.

The m and s one looks so well designed in a useful box. It's got some good stuff in for a great price.

But I think it is a pass for me. Two nail varnishes again. Plus two clinique. No thanks.

Now I've turned down the 40 quid one I can get another 250 quid one, right? That's how it works?

SoloCat · 24/08/2022 10:37

@Zeeza Absolutely….no enabling here, honest 😁

AprilLady · 24/08/2022 10:37

@OchonAgusOchonOh love it!

applesandpears33 · 24/08/2022 10:40

I love the look of the M&S one and am looking forward to buying it.

OchonAgusOchonOh · 24/08/2022 10:41

@AprilLady How sad are we that we are excited by a good spreadsheet😃

chillipenguin · 24/08/2022 10:42

I love a spreadsheet

I was hoping the two nail varnishes meant you got one of two colours but you're probably right. I am not interested in nail varnish and dd isn't bothered so she won't take them either.

There are only 23 items listed, if you count the nail varnish as 1 item. More likely that they have just left one out as it's their main item than they have left two out and it's only one nail varnish.

Don't we all😀

Maisa45 · 24/08/2022 11:03

I've been waiting to see what's in The Body Shop calendars. They're finally out and the middle-priced one isn't that different to last year's so I've just ordered last year's again half price from Brand Alley.

Zeeza · 24/08/2022 11:07

They have previously put in double nail varnishes. Even if I were to wear it, i wouldnt go for vampy red and purple like thet were that year.

MidnightMeltdown · 24/08/2022 11:21

Yeah I'm not a fan of nail polish either. Not sure whether or not I'll get it this year.

When I do get it, I don't normally count it in my advent calendar purchases. It's a practically a gift with purchase right? Right?? BlushBlush

OchonAgusOchonOh · 24/08/2022 11:35

Oh god yeah. It would be rude not to take it.

Doubleraspberry · 24/08/2022 11:44

DD adores nail polish so those are easy stocking presents for her for me!

SwishFish · 24/08/2022 12:27

@Maisa45 that’s interesting. I can see 2 on brand alley, green and purple. The purple one says it was £80.00 but last year purple was the cheapest at £55 and I don’t think they had one at £80.

beautyadventcalendar.net/the-body-shop-advent-calendar-2021/

I’m tempted but want to be sure which one I’m getting. Also, are you concerned about use by dates?

PomRuns · 24/08/2022 15:16

love the spreadsheets.

Theres enough that I’d use and like to get m and s. I’ll hopefully get JL if as good as last year too.
I loved Fortnums last year and still have the box - I’m tempted by the cult 51 and molecules but there’s quite a few misses for me this year.

Oh that's strange. I had the green one which was £140 at full price if I remember correctly. I bought it last year from my friend who was doing BSAH at the time. I'm not concerned about the use by dates, hadn't even considered it. I often have beauty products for ages before I use them anyway.

Zeeza · 24/08/2022 16:34

I think I'd want to use the products by the end of 2023 though.

I'm still off bodyshop after they told jk Rowling to shut up and have a bath after she wrote that heartbreaking story about domestic abuse.

I wasn’t much a BS products fan, but that really puts me off them.

BrokeAsABone · 24/08/2022 19:21

I quite like the Body Shop calendars but can't buy because of their horrific trolling of JKR after she wrote her essay outlining the abuse she had faced. That was unforgivable.

A ou ole of years ago I got the Sniph calendar and LOVED it....I hope they do another one this year.

They did what?! I'm off to Google this, what on earth did she do to deserve that.

PomRuns · 24/08/2022 19:27

She didn’t deserve it. I admire her so much being so vocal. She’s been treated terribly also by the Harry Potter actors. The irony of Emma Watson joining in the the bullying was awful.

Blossomtoes · 24/08/2022 19:33

She hasn’t deserved any f the shit she’s had thrown at her. She’s a strong, incredible woman. I stopped buying Body Shop products too. Anita Roddick must be turning in her grave.

Maisa45 · 24/08/2022 19:36

Oh dear I wasn't aware of that. I do like JKR purely for standing up for biological women but I won't derail a S&B thread with that!
