Which engagement ring?

Hey lovely MN ladies,

My lovely BIL has narrowed down 2 engagement ring choices for his gf.
She wants white gold/halo or pave or both. He's shown me the styles she likes and he's on the right tracks!
Which one in your opinion do you prefer? (there is a video of each ring under the pic if that helps).

ps ignore the cut/clarity as this will be changed it's just about the style.

thank you so much x

Jesus Christ....so much negativity!!! Choose between the two or don't comment 🙈🙈🙈

I love the second!! It's very romantic ♥️

Tiffanysmum · 30/05/2022 15:18

ok last time😫BIL and gf have decided he will choose the ring and it will be a surprise (after going to the jewellers together a few times). SHE wants it that way, it is NOT inconsiderate of him and he is not being abusive blah blah blah.

If you don't like the rings/style don't comment then. It's snooty.

This was meant to be a lovely thread about a lovely exciting time.

Well, I clicked, looked, didn't like either so didn't comment. BUT NOW all the adverts on my phone are sodding diamond engagement rings. Rows and rows of 'em. FML

Chewbecca · 30/05/2022 15:21

Can you give us some key words about the bride to be’s style?

Is she elegant and slender? (Pear)
Is she bubbly and glitzy (split shank)?

Eightieschildren · 30/05/2022 15:22

Neither option look like they’ll comfortably or aesthetically take a wedding ring sat next to them so personally I wouldn’t pick either. I think people forget about whether it fits next to a wedding ring.

DogsAndGin · 30/05/2022 15:22

I don’t love either, but the second is nicest

if you don't like either rings why comment?
I don't think a haribo ring would go down well. As stated he knows her style and these are the two to choose from. God some people are miserable!

Thank you everyone with positive/constructive feedback.

If he knows her style then why ask random strangers on the internet?!

LadyPoison · 30/05/2022 15:24

First one is more wearable.

It's also worth looking up the dimensions of the centre stone to give an idea of scale. In this case the 1st one will be about 5mm across so most of the halo stones will be very small.

Tiffanysmum · 30/05/2022 15:05

Just read my post
plus why are you obsessed with someone else choosing a ring??? that wasn't my reason for posting 😬

To be fair, you’re the one posting to ask completely random people for their opinions!

My sister had a similar shaped ring and you can actually get wedding bands cut so the engagement ring sits nicely against the band 👍🏻

Irishfarmer · 30/05/2022 15:27

I prefer the 2nd one. Will they be able to get a matching wedding band easily enough? I got my wedding band custom made to fit with my engagement ring. Actually worked out a decent amount cheaper than buying the matching one from the jewellers. I understood why DH picked from a shop though, I could return it if I didn't like it. He choose one without me, because he knows what I like and he knew I would like a surprise. Which sounds like what your BIL is doing for his gf!

I like the second one but so check it's compatibility with wedding and any future eternity ring.

Same!
My now husband and i did the same thing. I wanted it to be a surprise and it was lovely that he decided and it was something he really thought about.

First one

I feel like the point of the second ring would get caught on things

Chill out, I haven’t been “a complete cow”. You’re very aggressive about nothing.

Shufflebumnessie · 30/05/2022 15:33

Personally I think the first one is stunning. I'd be delighted with that one! (My DH propsed with a fake ring as he wasn't 100% on what I'd like).

HotWashCycle · 30/05/2022 15:33

I like the second one -really pretty and flattering.

Ladywiddio · 30/05/2022 15:34

Second by a long way.

Ihatethenewlook · 30/05/2022 15:34

First one for me

Justkeeppedaling · 30/05/2022 15:37

I don't know why I'm replying because I don't like either of them, just wanted to comment about the price ! Baby Cheeses!

FAQs · 30/05/2022 15:40

@Tiffanysmum I prefer the second one.
