Which engagement ring?

Tiffanysmum · 30/05/2022 14:39

Hey lovely MN ladies,

My lovely BIL has narrowed down 2 engagement ring choices for his gf.
She wants white gold/halo or pave or both. He's shown me the styles she likes and he's on the right tracks!
Which one in your opinion do you prefer? (there is a video of each ring under the pic if that helps).

ps ignore the cut/clarity as this will be changed it's just about the style.

thank you so much x

He should be taking her to try them on and then she can pick one out herself.

Tiffanysmum · 30/05/2022 14:58

if you don't like either really don't bother posting a snotty response.

The first one is beautiful

I'm not keen on the 2nd at all.

coconuthead · 30/05/2022 14:59

I love split shanks but I like the pear more!

abblie · 30/05/2022 14:59

2nd

Tiffanysmum · 30/05/2022 14:59

@Aquamarine1029 one last time ....they have....they have decided that he will choose out of the styles she tried on.

Please get a grip and stop fixating on something which isn't a thing!

Second one , its beautiful

Moodycow78 · 30/05/2022 15:00

Personally I'd go for the first but I love a split band, second not to Mt taste as I don't like the pear shape 👍

fallfallfall · 30/05/2022 15:01

I’m not a fan of pear shaped stones.
I know you say she knows her style but the pave sides are very impractical, get dirty, and it’s easy to loose stones.
i prefer the first, glad to see it has a matching band.

Honestly cant praise them enough. Once ordered they send you regular updates of where they are in the making process and estimated deliveries etc. Their customer service also get back to you almost instantly with any queries.

ah that is fantastic!

I would hate anyone else having input into my ring. Surely she should choose?

Movinghouseatlast · 30/05/2022 15:02

The second one is classier.

OP said that isn't the case here though: they have....they have decided that he will choose out of the styles she tried on.

I have a pave engagement ring and don't find it impractical at all, never had an issues. I also have a non pave ring and there is no difference.

Again not sure about this fixation with my BIL gf having to go and choose the ring when they've decided together what they want to do. Mind boggling that this seems to be an issue for some on here. I'm not posting on the relationship board.

Just read my post
plus why are you obsessed with someone else choosing a ring??? that wasn't my reason for posting 😬

I prefer the first one - I think the split shank sides look slightly more "blingy" personally which I obviously like (!) but if her style is a bit more classic then she might prefer the other...

LadyEloise1 · 30/05/2022 15:08

I agree with some posters who say go and choose the ring together.
He can propose with a "promise" ring.
It's such a lovely time choosing the ring. Make a special day of it - Champagne breakfast or lunch or dinner.
His fiancée might be surprised by what she actually decides is right for her when she tries them on.

I prefer the first one but I don't like a split shank.

sassyduck · 30/05/2022 15:09

First is lovely.

Pamlar · 30/05/2022 15:12

I prefer the second one bc the design is simpler and the shape of the stone is more unusual.

jackstini · 30/05/2022 15:12

Love the second

I think it's fabulous he knows her well enough to choose something she will love

I know it's sometimes practical but choosing together seems less romantic

ArtVandalay · 30/05/2022 15:12

Those rings are a bit blingy for my taste (as I'd rather have one diamond of a decent carat), but the one linked by Tryhard40 is the best of them.

OldTinHat · 30/05/2022 15:13

First one.
