White trainers and maxi dresses...

...is this look still a thing? Or will I look like a bit of a dinosaur?

Dd turns 18 in a few months and we have a weekend away planned some of which will involve a lot of walking but still want to look a bit glam from the ankles up!

I'm mid/late 40s and considerably overweight (but working on it!) and having given up work 18 months ago to care for my Olds my wardrobe currently consists of uber smart office wear and heels or jeans, tatty tops and cheap pumps, so any additional fashion tips would be gratefully received!

Some women have such bandy legs that they never meet 😂or they only have a size 14 waist and a size 10 bottom. My MIL was ver round around the middle but had stick legs.
I didn’t have a problem when I was a size 14, but one size up and its hell!!!

I've a variety of shorts bought to wear under dresses, the best have been a very cheap pair of shorts from Primark, work great. I have seen young teens wearing them as outerwear though

Not yet...we're not going until the end of September and I'm trying to lose a bit of weight before then.

I have started looking though and think I will probably get the Puma trainers...sadly I really can't justify the KGs!

Ooh...don't think the puff sleeves would work for me but I love that deep v neck and back.

I think your faves are the same as mine...2 is very 'me' but wasn't sure if it was bit mumsy...maybe need a faux leather biker jacket with it.

Also love the tropical and the red one as I like colour, but thing the blue and white is really classy and the sleeve would be good if the weather's a bit cooler...might look at getting a white denim jacket to go with though.

I've been looking on Pretty Kitty Vintage for a posh dress...going to do Sky Garden or Shard and nice restaurant on the Sunday.

No1 is my favourite, love 2 but might be a bit OTT, not sure about 3...that's a bit too tame!

I agree with you on the blues, sorry I wasn't clear. The blue longer sleeve one is stunning but the other one is just meh.

Really love that red leopard dress AND the pink. Very striking. Number 3 is not special for my eyes.
