Has anyone started a sandals thread yet?

I can't see one, so apologies if they have.

A few years ago I had a lovely pair of Steve Madden sandals. The straps were elasticated and never rubbed. The soles were comfy and I could walk for miles in them too. Alas the nude colour has now seen better days.

Has anyone seen anything similar? Or are there equally comfy and stylish sandals out there?

Are Dr Martin sandals comfy? I’m seriously considering buying these although at £90 they are a lot more than I usually spend!

I have also seen these from the website AJ Voyage. They are more than half the price of the Doc Martins. Has anyone heard of the brand?

I've only just got mine so just wearing around the house so far but they do feel really comfy. I've never had a problem with dm boots though like some people do

I did look at the AJ voyager website but wasn't sure , don't know anyone that's bought from there

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 25/04/2022 22:15

And have you tried vinted? I've bought DMs that have never been worm from there for quite a bit cheaper before

Rollergirl11 · 25/04/2022 23:07

Well I’ve just caved and bought the DM Blaire sandals. Yesterday they were completely sold out on the Dr Marten website, almost sold out on Office and well stocked for all sizes on ASOS. Just looked back at ASOS and all sizes now sold out apart from UK 3, which hopefully will fit if I take the advice to size down 1 from my usual size. It’s almost like it was meant to be! 🥴😂

Ohh 🤣 let us know what you think!

My current Arizonas are falling apart and I'm considering these {they come in hot chocolate or fuchsia)

I haven't had the soft footbed ones before, but I love Birks - just about the only shoes that fit my hobbit-like feet apart from Crocs

Notarealmum · 26/04/2022 06:12

@annlee3817 thanks for that info.

I’ve been looking at the site and unfortunately it says the ones I like the best (mules - I’m not keen on the high straps against my ankles) are narrower than the other styles ☹️

I bought some last year. I love them, they look great. Mine rubbed a little on the first outing but are so comfy now.

Sorry that was aimed @Rollergirl11 - I didn’t quote properly! 😂

Rollergirl11 · 26/04/2022 08:19

Thanks @Roominmyhouse , how did you find the sizing?

titsintiers · 26/04/2022 08:35

Well I ordered a pair of Birkenstocks but they feel huge on my feet.....bugger.

What size? Did you use their size guide? I am uk 4 and either take 36 wide or 37 narrow.

titsintiers · 26/04/2022 08:51

Of course it'd help if I fastened the buckle...🙈

Thanks @Roominmyhouse , how did you find the sizing?

I wear a 6 or 7 usually depending on the shoe and got a 6. I’d say they come up on the bigger side and are fairly wide so the 7 would have been huge.

Roominmyhouse · 27/04/2022 19:37

My hotter sandals arrived today. They are nice and feel comfy so fingers crossed for no rubbing!

I love Birkenstocks but fancied a bit of a change. I can’t decide if I like these or not though…

So my DM Blaire sandals have arrived. I really really like them but they hurt like a bastard. Unfortunately the ankle strap and buckle sit right on my ankle bone either side and it’s really pressing the bone. I got a sore on my ankle purely just from trying them on for 10 mins! Today I am going to wear them with a pair of socks to try and loosen/soften them up a bit. If that doesn’t work then I’m going to have to send them back which is a real shame as I really love them. 😥

Rollergirl11 · 01/05/2022 13:38

wear them inside the house I should add

evilharpy · 02/05/2022 09:00

I fell in love with these Hush Woodstocks last year but they were out of stock in the gold (they're a rip off of Birks Woodstock I guess but I liked the jute bits). Managed to find a pair on Vinted that I don't think had ever been worn. Unfortunately I'm finding them impossible to walk in, they just keep sliding off my feet. I'm so annoyed as they're lovely! Does anyone have this problem with similar styles?
