I feel ugly and old and frumpy [sulk]

FrannyandZooey · 07/01/2008 14:21

and I look like shit

I am 14 weeks pg and just look fat not curvaceous

I have a cold and my nose is all red and my skin is all grey

my hair needs cutting and I can't afford to get it done - plus I was cautious in the first trimester and didn't get it coloured so I have crappy roots

none of my nice clothes fit and the ones that do are frumpy and unflattering

I don't know what anyone can do as I can't afford to buy new stuff or get hair done right now so will just have to put up with it, but I am hoping this will be cathartic at least

Nooooooo, you are the personification of fecundity. You are taking vegetables and turning them into humans! You are beautiful darling!

mylittleponey · 07/01/2008 14:25

the prize is your little one

FrannyandZooey · 07/01/2008 14:25

oh you sweetheart

i still look like a bag of spuds with a rudolf nose though

Bet you look lovely really.
Brisk walk and a hot bath followed by a lot of moisturiser do wonders I find.

FrannyandZooey · 07/01/2008 14:26

I want to be BLOOMING

why am I not blooming with enormous breasts and great big luscious hair?

a little trim might not cost much - have you got a birthday or anything coming up soon? or could you do a DIY type colour from boots?

wombling · 07/01/2008 14:26

Franny,

I know just what you mean, there is tht horrible lumpy feeling you get about now, but you can do something, relatively cheaply. What size are you? I know that I am half your height, and twice, at least, your width, but I have some lovely Gap maternity tops and sweaters that will be lovely on you. Re Colouring hair, can you get a friend to help you and do it at home? I can send you some colourant (work for toiletries company)Can you go to cheaper place for a trim?

DS woken up, must dash, back later.

FrannyandZooey · 07/01/2008 14:27

moondog I really don't, believe me here

I had the walk and got rained on

have smeared vaseline over my entire surface area

Well:

and I look like shit

I am NOT 14 weeks pg and just look fat not curvaceous

I have a cold and my nose is all red and my skin is all grey

my hair needs cutting and I can't afford to get it done

none of my nice clothes fit and the ones that do are frumpy and unflattering

I don't know what anyone can do as I can't afford to buy new stuff or get hair done right now so will just have to put up with it.

I'll join your club F&Z!! Don't worry, you'll soon be blooming, whereas I'll still be podgy.

unknownrebelbang · 07/01/2008 14:27

You have a lovely reason for feeling how you do.

Alas, I really am ugly, old and frumpy.

FrannyandZooey · 07/01/2008 14:29

Wombling you are so kind. I have got some maternity stuff but I just need to get it back off the person I lent it to. I never thought about doing hair at home - I think I would be nervous about it touching the scalp etc - I normally just have highlights. Yes I could have a trim somewhere cheaper and I think I should probably do that.

repeat 'just a phase, just a phase'

most of my matwear is summery but I could have a rummage - what colours are good for you?

(NB would you have any use for indulgent body cream etc? too much here as a result of unimaginative aunts)

LilRedWG · 07/01/2008 14:32

F&Z - moan away, it is a horrible stage of pregnancy. Luckily I spent so much time with my head down the toilet I didn't have a chance to look at my reflection.

FrannyandZooey · 07/01/2008 14:34

(with lettuce leaf of COURSE would I ever hurt her?)

oh the shoes

I forgot to add

I had to buy orthopaedic inserts for my dodgy foot and THERE WAS A PICTURE OF AN OLD LADY ON THE PACKET

I might as well just sit here and turn grey right now

OP posts:
LilRedWG · 07/01/2008 14:35

LOL - I need to get DH some orthopaedic inserts - I'm sure he'll be thrilled to be an old lady!

FrannyandZooey · 07/01/2008 14:35

Lilred the being sick bit was bad, but has been replaced by the 'wanting to eat pieces of cheese the size of my head' bit

which is so good for the figure

MrsB what if it is not a phase hmm? HMMMM?

FrannyandZooey · 07/01/2008 14:36

ooh MrsB another very kind lady indeed. I am a shocker and only really wear black or brown or dark green or something on my top half

I love the idea of body lotion thingy but I never actually use it if I have some

OP posts:
LilRedWG · 07/01/2008 14:36

I'm fairly sure that MrsB is right and it's a phase - I don't think you'll be 14 weeks pregnant forever!

Oooo - cheese! I ate so much of the stuff and still do - maybe that's my problem.

FrannyandZooey · 07/01/2008 14:38

that is BAD

I only have one bra and it is flesh coloured as I had to wear under nasty sports top at work

I had a fab bra at the end of my last pg, it was so pointy and structured, we called it The Helga
