1990’s perfume

Beyond CK One, what other scents have their origins in the 90’s? I’m off to a 90’s night and would love to complete the look with the right smell (cigarettes and alcohol aside!).

I picked up a bottle of Cool Water as a cheap perfume for work recently and a few women in the 30s range smelled me and came over all nostalgic.

😍 I’ve been tempted to get cool water again I just love it. So fresh smelling.

I was actually really impressed with it, a few squirts lasted all through a 12 hour shift and so many women recognised it even from across a room! I think I'll grab another bottle for work, and I'm gonna get some Tommy Girl too!

Chloe Narcisse. That would take me right back to my first marriage and me and my friend going to the Strawberry fair in Cambridge, dressed in our flares and big hats. Wanted to buy some recently but its stupid money now!

Bottom shelf of Boots probably. Near the Yardley. L'Aimant is fabulous- much much earlier than the 90s though! 1920s and very very similar to Chanel 5. (There were humphs and grumps between the two houses about who copied who- Coty back in the day was a powerhouse)

For me, if we are talking perfumes which were created in the 90s then the most iconic would be Safari, Beautiful or, much later on towards the end, Angel. The 90s started with a kind of backlash to Obsession and Opium with the CKOne, Escape, Gio, ozone fresh scents, and then Mugler came along and upset the scent cart with Angel.

Tresor and Narcisse too, but I wish neither had been created. The only two perfumes to make me feel physically sick with their headiness.
