I'm 54, haggard, and currently have quite long hair. I stopped colouring years ago so have white streaks, scattered grey but still brown/golden brown underneath.
I let it grow for the lockdown years just to see if it would (never had really long hair) but now it just hangs there!
The pic is right now.. so hair clean, blasted dry and left..it's quite healthy but naturally quite frizzy and a hint of rain..POOF!

I don't want to go short short (I just look like my Dad plus I have a horrid nose!), might like a fringe, but I wear glasses some of the time and my fringe separates no matter what I do.
Any suggestions welcomed! I don't mind being grey and don't want to colour it, but I'd like to look a bit less wild :D

Stop it, you’re not haggard! Anyway I think you would suit a chin length bob looking at this, graduated from the back. Was going to say a blunt and thick fringe too but maybe not if it won’t stay put.

Deux · 23/01/2022 23:42

This isn’t much help admittedly but I like it long. What about just getting a trim and some more
Layers round your face? And maybe get a Revlon one step styler to give you the smoothness.

Deux · 23/01/2022 23:43

You look great btw. Chanel your inner Stevie Nicks. Smile

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 23/01/2022 23:44

Chin length would look great or is that too short? Your hair drowns your face at the moment and you have enviable cheek bones.

WinterDeWinter · 23/01/2022 23:44

I think you look fab - very Rick glam.

Leonthelobster · 23/01/2022 23:46

You look great and have lovely hair. Would anything on the lines of these appeal?

You have lovely hair. I think the layers and length suit you. I would say your hair looks greasy..I think go for a treatment and i would say a colour. Dark brown

ANameChangeAgain · 23/01/2022 23:49

Agree with everyone else, you want some soft, easy layers around your face. A good cut will stop the frizziness. Have some colours put in your hair to soften it, I wouldn't do a whole head colour, just a few high and low lights that won't look amis after a few weeks grow out.

roxisolerenshaw · 23/01/2022 23:50

You look amazing! I'd keep your hair long, just take a few inches off.

Leonthelobster · 23/01/2022 23:50

I have something similar to this though my hair isn’t as thick. I’m in my 60s and it’s sort of lightened my face somehow.

PaddleBoardingMomma · 23/01/2022 23:51

Don't cut it!!!! You look like a beach babe, just grab a paddle board or a kayak and head off to live your best life with your cool hair.... (maybe wait til summer though...)

And you don't look haggard! I love the whole vibe, don't change anything at all.

PenguinLove1 · 23/01/2022 23:53

Its lovely just needs a bit more styling - what about getting a Keratin blow dry so its sits smooth for three months and see if it helps?

FeckingOvaries · 23/01/2022 23:53

You look so freaking cool pleaaaase don't cut your hair!

StillMedusa · 23/01/2022 23:56

LoulouLou..defo not greasy... it is very dry :/ But it's not straightened tonight so it sticks out in clumps! No colour... ever. I used to colour it religiously, then started to react to hair dye..the final time was nasty and I'm happy to have grey hair ..post menopause (but fun) granny that I am Grin
I'm long, skinny and think the long hair probably drags my face down (along with gravity, sadly) and spend my off work days tramping through woods with my dog and baby grandson on my back, and my long hair gets knotty under my hat! It's also getting finer and flyaway sadly!

I think your hair looks good & suits you!

You don't look haggard!! Dafty!

PinkButtercups · 24/01/2022 00:01

You don't need to have anything drastic. Because you're slim and have slim features your hair looks too heavy.

I'd say shoulder length opt just past your shoulder with some choppy lagers and a tidy up of the front. Maybe just a sweeping fringe that's very subtle and just naturally blends into your hair.

PinkButtercups · 24/01/2022 00:01

Or*

PinkButtercups · 24/01/2022 00:02

Layers* clearly too late for me Grin.

whatshouldIdoo · 24/01/2022 00:02

You look amazing. Love the hair, great colour and style.
Looks fun and gives off a rock chick / surfer vibe.
I think some of the suggestions above would be aging.

A long bob would work but I would pretty much keep it as it is and just lob a bit off the ends.

DaveGahansRealWife · 24/01/2022 00:02

My first thought when I saw you was Holly Hunter . Whatever you do don't cut it short . Get it cut below that second layer and just make a bit of an effort with something like the pic attached to smooth it out a bit .

I think you look amazing! (And I don't say that lightly)

ShowerOfShite · 24/01/2022 00:08

I think you look great.

Imabouttoexplode · 24/01/2022 00:12

it's great hair. it has texture and body and movement. just get it in great condition, cut a tiny bit off to get rid of the stragly bits and make the most of the wave in it.

3luckystars · 24/01/2022 00:14

I think you look lovely, don’t cut it, it’s cool!!

BobbieMeserole · 24/01/2022 00:16

I agree with the majority, you look great and have lovely hair! I would leave it. Maybe get a strong clip, so when you want to go out tramping in the woods you can throw it up in the clip. Pull it into almost like a ponytail in your hand then wrap it around the pony into a bun and then pop the clip onto the remaining ends at the top of your head. It comes off looking like the 'messy bun' look that is in style. Quick and easy and you don't have to do any styling as you would with a new hairstyle if that make sense.
