Apart from royals, you don't really see daytime heels like that anymore!

True. But there must be alternatives? What shoes are there that aren't sky scraper heels or trainers? I don't know that we've ever seen Kate in ballet flats? Not that I'm suggesting they'd really work either...

These are pretty much the only photos I can find of Kate in flats, and apart from the Pakistan one, they are all quite old.

I think the shoes are a tricky area to get right tbh. There’s not so many that you could stylishly pair with some of the formal wear other than heels. Boots are great in the winter, but wedges are not always popular, kitten heels I personally don’t like, a sandal looks lovely if it’s the right shape for the outfit. Ditto ballet flats and trainers but with a posh frock? Probably not.
I like Leti’s red dress, very chic, nice little glimpse of ruby and diamond earrings too. Not so keen on the shade of Max’s dress, it’s more terracotta to me.

I like CPV's dress. It reminds me of one Meghan wore when she was pregnant too.

Just catching up. Not a fan of Kate's olive dress from earlier on the week... very dull and shape not great. LOVE Max's red dress - that shade of red is great on her!

I think the spike heel for daywear is looking a little dated, although Leti can pull it off.

They’re nice. I’ve got some a similar shape but without the strap. I think if you are tall that helps, whereas I’m not and sometimes feel frumpy without height but then I tend to dress casually mostly anyway. I can’t remember the last time I wore heels😳

I'm just under 5'2" and never wear heels, although I try to find interesting shoes. I like the diagonal strap, it adds interest.

Speaking of CPV, she's been out and about in this suit. I think this is a really good look on her and I like the edging on the blouse, but not sure about the shoes. I suppose the whole outfit could look a bit air stewardess, but the wrap style of the jacket helps to mitigate against this.

Is it my imagination or is her hair a bit less tightly scraped back than usual? Seems to be a tiny bit more volume on the top?
