Royal style continues!
Thanks to Deftly for the thread title. Let's hope there's more Gucci and Chanel.....fewer coat dresses..,.

I like Kate's coat, love a black/grey combination although not sure about the buttons. Also love the pearl jewellery on both DoC and CPM.

Kudos to Kate for getting down that slide without losing her shoes! Or getting stuck, as I likely would have myself. Now that would be awkward...royal visit held up because HRH is wedged halfway down a giant slide.

KillingMeDeftly · 23/02/2022 18:07

Back in her uniform for forest school!

I'm not keen on Kate's coatdress, but I have a natural aversion to grey. Mary's outfit I like - the simple white coat is a nice contrast with the black.
But the shoes! As pp have said - walking across cobbles in 4" stilettos is brave!

I think Kate looks really dated in the Catherine Walker. In fact that designer does nothing for her (bar one pencil dress).
Doing good casual though.

Grin She looks good though! Wish I looked like that - I'd look more like two sausages in those jeans!
paradyning · 23/02/2022 18:24

Really like CPM's outfit. The heels are crazy high for those cobbles though. Much prefer her maj's sensible shoes!

@KillingMeDeftly

Mary looks good! Kate's coat dress is a little staid. I wonder if Queen M has back or hip problems? I've seen her adopt that stance in a few photos recently.
Famously she’s about 6 foot 2 ( or rather, was) so the fact that she’s looking shorter than the other 2 women suggests she’s had skeletal issues, poor thing.
gluenotsoup · 23/02/2022 19:58

I love Kate’s Seeland jacket, I have coveted one for months. Only the price and the fact that I would feel a bit pretentious in it puts me off. But I want it.

She looks bloody great here.

Estelle of Sweden has turned 10 and suddenly looks very grown up! Is it just me or does she have a vague look of the Spanish princesses about her now? I suppose they are distantly related.

Estelle looks lovely! How sweet, yes she reminds me of Leonor (and also Sofia) of Spain.

To me the oddest thing about Kate's grey outfit is her bare legs! It's winter in Copenhagen fgs! Apart from having cold legs, it also just looks really strange to me - a warm winter coat, bare legs, and stilettos. Heightened by the fact that we can't see what - if anything! - she's wearing under the coat, it creates a look of someone only partially dressed imo.

I do actually like the coat though. We're opposites in our views on grey @Maireas - I love it and my children tease me about my ginormous modest collection of grey cardigans! Grin

MotherofPearl · 23/02/2022 23:22

Good job that Mathilde seems to have knocked the matching masks thing on the head.

I can see Kate sporting this fetching Natan tartan suit on her next Scottish sojourn... Smile

Well, they are all descended from Queen Victoria (but, then again, who isn't?) I think that the closest connection is from Princess Margaret of Connaught who married into the Swedish royal family, and Princess Victoria Eugenie of Battenberg, who married into the Spanish one.
LadyEloise1 · 23/02/2022 23:56

Kate looks lovely.
I'm sure she's not bare legged - probably very sheer nude tights ?
Mathilde's outfit is horrendous. It adds pounds to her slim figure.

StartupRepair · 24/02/2022 01:39

Margrethe gave Mary some nice heirloom jewellery for her birthday. www.thecourtjeweller.com/2022/02/crown-princess-marys-incredible-bejeweled-birthday-gift.html

paradyning · 24/02/2022 04:25

That's generous! I can't really imagine Mary in turquoise. Not sure it's a good match with her hair colour/ complexion (is she the same colour combo as Kate?)
Sure she will smash a debut though.

Eaumyword · 24/02/2022 07:02

Those turquoise earrings are beautiful.

Mathilde's outfit is dreadful and enlarging. It does look much better in the sitting down photo, so I wonder if the visual issue with it was with the belted top?

KillingMeDeftly · 24/02/2022 11:16

What was Mathilde thinking in donning that tartan monstrosity?? Kate's probably kicking herself for not thinking about it when she was last in Scotland!

KillingMeDeftly · 24/02/2022 11:17

Actually, Kate and William are off to Wales next week. What form might her literal dressing take there?

RomainingCalm · 24/02/2022 12:46

@KillingMeDeftly. My money is on long skirts and some red/white/grey/black. Maybe a shawl and a big hat?

chesterelly1 · 24/02/2022 12:53

It'll be St David's Day next week. Maybe Kate will bring a subtle nuance to her literal dressing with a colour pop of daffodil yellow or maybe dress as a giant daffodil.
The tartan ensemble reminded me of my mum who used to make 100s of pairs of tartan trews. I used to pinch the off cuts, DC's school had yards and yards of tartan bunting and tartan sashes galore for ceilidhs. I also had a fetching waistcoat with different tartan on each side (I used to work for a Scottish company where it didn't do any harm to conform to stereotype now and again)

justasking111 · 24/02/2022 12:56

Think the turquoise is awful, too dowager. Tartan off.

I guarantee Kate will have a Daffodil adornment
