She could recycle that yellow Wimbledon dress?

gluenotsoup · 24/02/2022 13:08

The yellow Wimbledon dress was nice. I think green with a daffodil on it somewhere.
I don’t like the turquoise jewels- they’re too bulky, and remind me of the plastic costume jewels you get inside little girl princess magazines😬.
Meghan had some nice turquoise jewellery, possibly very dainty earrings.

Eaumyword · 24/02/2022 13:12

I'll have them them, @gluenotsoup Grin
I think you're right, she'll go with a green coat with a daffodil brooch!
I did like that yellow Wimbledon dress, a stunning silhouette, but a bit cold still to wear?

AdaColeman · 24/02/2022 13:15

I don’t think Mathilde’s suit is an actual tartan, it’s just a check fabric. She’s had that suit for a few years now, and it’s had a few outings, it must be comfortable and practical to wear when she’s moving about at old peoples’ homes, housing projects etc. I like the dark green colour with her colouring.

For her trip to Wales, I’m hoping that Kate will wear one of those red stuffed dragon hats popular at Welsh rugby matches! Grin Grin

paradyning · 24/02/2022 14:14

She would wear it under one of her many, many coats.

Do princesses "do" thermal underwear?
KillingMeDeftly · 24/02/2022 16:26

The yellow dress is definitely one for a sunny day at the tennis rather than a wet Wednesday in Wales!

MotherofPearl · 24/02/2022 16:35

Maybe dressing as a leek would work for the Wales trip...

Our favourite poppet Prince Charles has been on a National Scout Day outing. He remains adorable, and Stephanie looks besotted, understandably! Her hair looks pretty I think.

Oh, look at him! So adorable.
It's nice that they take him out to meet people.

Sophie's opened a mums' group in Woking. Not much fashion, but she's having a ball cuddling all the babies! She looks lovely, very happy and engaged.

Well, @Deftly, I'm going to suggest it was a group effort.

Ooh can I join please? I'm forever googling Royal style, didn't know there was a series of threads!

Eaumyword · 24/02/2022 19:15

This is the best thread @PeekabooAtTheZoo!
Whatever horribleness goes on in the world, we're still here giving calming fun (and interesting royal history/commentary.)
Also - you get a free tiara for joining Grin

Maireas · 24/02/2022 19:28

Willkommen, Bienvenu, Peekaboo!
Your first task is to select a tiara to wear. There are many available, although I do keep a spreadsheet (that's not even a joke).
Your second task is to identify the correct princess in a line up of Kate, Mary and Marie....

gluenotsoup · 24/02/2022 19:54

Aah- yes, the Spreadsheet of Splendour is just amazing 🥰

AdaColeman · 24/02/2022 20:12

Welcome Peekaboo, and if you haven’t already got a tiara in mind, may I suggest Queen Margrethe’s Naasut tiara, made in gold and diamonds, it was given to Margrethe by the people of Greenland to mark her Ruby Jubilee in 2012.

A beautiful, unusual and delicate flower design, it incorporates Margrethe’s personal flower, the daisy. It’s an absolutely lovely piece!

Maireas · 24/02/2022 20:20

@gluenotsoup Spreadsheet of Splendour. Love it!

Diana on her first visit to Wales. Red and green for the flag.

Just coming back to apologise for my ill judged comment hinting at eating disorders yesterday. I do think there is a place for a discussion of the very low body mass index which seems to be the thing amongst a lot of female European royalty, the sacrifices which must be involved in maintaining this look, and the links between emaciation and high status. However this obviously isn’t the place as it’s mostly a light hearted, feel good kind of thread. Apologies if I offended anyone.

Maireas · 24/02/2022 20:27

@alldressedupinblue - gosh I remember that! The press interest was really ramping up. I think she was already pregnant.
