Thanks to Deftly for the thread title. Let's hope there's more Gucci and Chanel.....fewer coat dresses..,.

As Charles got older and was still unmarried, it was always going to be difficult for him to find someone nearer his own age considering that the expectation was that his bride "could not have a past" as they so delicately put it. Not so easy to have found found a virgin bride in her late twenties or early thirties.

I have a slight resemblance to Eugenie so expect to wear it well, but not better than a later owner, Gloria Thurn und Taxis:

The tiara was seen again when the 11th Prince of Thurn and Taxis, Johannes, married German aristocrat Countess Gloria von Schönburg-Glauchau in 1980. Aged just 20, her new husband was 34 years her senior and she soon became known as the 'Punk Princess' for her extravagant appearance and lifestyle. For the Prince’s 60th birthday party she dressed as Marie Antoinette and was lowered down to join the other guests on a golden cloud attached to a zip wire.

I remember Princess Gloria well. She was quite the character!
She was regularly in magazines and there was a documentary about her life.
Takes me back!

I really like the jacket and roll neck sweater.
I don't really like the trousers - certainly not with spike heeled shoes, the proportions look wrong. Maybe with flat shoes?.

I think ankle boots would work better especially for this time of year. Like the sweater, jacket and bag but not that zip - I never understand designs which call attention to zips.

I don't either. I like a concealed zip.

I like the jacket! It would look fresh with a white top, turned up slim jeans and trainers.
I don’t like the trousers. I’m impartial to the zip. I have a couple of things with a zip like that, my mum usually pulls a face and asks if they were cheap. 😳

Kate's been working today in her "uniform". Basic black separates topped by a blazer. I like the cut of the trousers - they're a nice balance between her beloved skinnies and her favourite Jigsaw wide-legs.

Hmm on Leti's outfit. I like the overall look. The jacket is great and the trousers look modern and cool. Don't love the exposed zip but she does look good as ever.

I asked my friend about the Danish royals. Apparently Queen M is much admired and considered very down to earth. Fred thought to be a bit lazy and fond of a drink. Mary apparently very keen to build her profile up and cover herself in glory and has a very high opinion of herself!

But obviously that's all gossip!!

Kate looks good there. I like that, it works- not too fussy, good heel shape, and the trouser shape is really flattering, I need some like that.
Interesting Danish opinion there! We only ever see the photos rather than public mood or insight, so it’s a bit eye opening really.

There was a Gucci watch with interchangeable bezels. My mother gave me one for a milestone birthday. I still have it but the battery is dead and I haven't replaced it so never wear it. Like so many people, I no longer wear a watch, but maybe I should do it now and then in memory of my mom. Mine also has a gold tone bezel and a silver one.

It's this one.

I don't often post but wanted to say I remember the Gucci bangle watch with interchangeable bezels fondly and I (sadly) had a cheaper version which I think is still around somewhere, and I definitely think you should get a new battery for it and wear it in honour of your mum!
