Royal style continues!
Thanks to Deftly for the thread title. Let's hope there's more Gucci and Chanel.....fewer coat dresses..,.

And yes the queen mum was v chatty and kind, asking about the flowers and were mum's hands not very cold?

HM herself didn't ever stop or chat. You weren't expected to stop your work or acknowledge her. Mum's seen her in a hair net which makes me smile. As a kid you picture her walking round the palace in her crown

It's also Stephanie of Monaco's birthday - I seem to remember she spent a great deal of the 1980s wearing swimsuits but when she wasn't, her devotion to shoulder pads was unsurpassed!

I'm not so keen on Stephanie's style, but it's certainly distinctive.

Thank you @KillingMeDeftly Max is my ideal royal. Experiments but even when I've tivn some of her outfits the side eye can carry it off just because she has such joy and air of assurance about her.

I'm also quite keen because she approaches her clothes the way ai would if I had access to the funds and designers. Lots of colour, styles that only I love and sod everyone else but also things that someone my shape (ok a better version of my shape ) maye wear.

She also doesn't play when it comes to bling. She reminds me of when I decided to stop saving clothes or jewellery for best and use in normal life as much as possible. I felt less gollum and more getting my money's worth. If my bling was original and as massive, I'd incorporate where I could. Only I'd hav a Queen Mary approach to accessories.

Kate in sports gear today to announce her new rugby patronages. I wish I looked that good in trackie bottoms and a hoodie!

Never had her pegged as a rugby fan!

She’s quite often gone to rugby matches with William and Harry int he past - i think she just likes sports full stop.

There’s some great footage out there of her visit to Twickenham today - being lifted high into the air in a lineout training drill like a pro!

That's great footage of her Serenster - I agree that she just enjoys sport and can turn her hand to most things. She looks as if she's having a ball at Twickenham and what a great advert for women's rugby and sport in general.

Jamie George and Ellis Genge look as if they can't quite believe they're in a scrum with the DOC.

She looks like she's having a great time! And it can't be too difficult to lift her high in the air as I doubt she weighs very much 😆

I agree with you, @Becles! I'm the same, I stopped saving stuff, I wear colourful clothes and nice jewellery every day. I really like that about Max, she enjoys clothes.

I don’t save stuff anymore either! But I have to dress practically ☹️ and be careful with jewellery with dd.
I love that Kate’s having fun! A good advocate for women’s sports too, and good on her getting stuck in! I bet they were extra careful not to drop her 😂
