I went on Toast chat and they have sent me a label to return the order they sent with someone else's stuff. But ! They wont refund my money back until they have the return, even though they have made the error..They did offer to re sell me what I had originally ordered...( So that would mean that I paid twice,) I declined...
..

To clarify they sent someone else's order on my order number.. ( but of course charged me)..

It was for the long white poplin shirt , but I decided to buy the white Oxford shirt from JL instead

So where is the stuff you ordered @Laska2Meryls? Will they send it on to you once they get that back from whoever it went to ?

I have two pair of Cos. Wide leg culottes following recommendations here.. They are really great

I took my DD1, who is 14 today, shopping in our nearest big city and I was excited to visit JL (no Toast there for years) but the sale was rubbish and surprisingly stingily discounted (maybe that should be their new slogan, in place of Never Knowingly Undersold!)

Funnily enough, there is a Cos on the next corner and I was mightily impressed by the quality of this lovely sweater

If my lace yolk sale sweater/s are duff, I’m going to return them pronto and invest in this beauty instead. The real-life jumper I saw was in a vanilla shade but I’d be equally as happy with this brown (even though it’s ‘brown’).

Picked up my JL Toast order today. Disappointing. The Oxford white shirt is lovely, especially the weight of the fabric, but it’s way too long for me (the sleeves too). The yellowy green check shirt with the ruffle neck is much nicer in real life than it looked online, but although the bottom half of the sleeves is billowy, the top half is really neat and too tight on my upper arms. The washed wool sweater I thought was a no brainier, as I already have the yellow colour, but of course I forgot how inconsistent the sizing in Toast knitwear is, and even though I ordered the same size, it is easily 2 inches longer and wider, and the sleeves too are about 2 inches wider, so it is too big. So frustrating. Sadly it’s not in the Toast sale and is oos at JL now. Maybe another one will pop up again on JL, I’ll keep my eyes peeled.

I have a Toast order still to come, though it is still showing as being in the black hole of Swansea mail centre, despite being due for delivery last week.

I'm still waiting for my Toast sale things - I forgot about the extra bank holidays today and yesterday, so no post movement at all

I'm sort of hoping I won't want to keep much because I picked up my JL Brora order, and I really quite like two of the four jumpers. Got a lot of thinking to do...

@Laska2Meryls - do you mean they actually charged you for an order you didn't make as well as an order you made - but they only sent you the order for someone else? surely that's not legal?

No idea.. they offered to resell it to me at 15% off but I couldn't get the refund until they had the wrong stuff back.. so I just said not to bother.. I should get my £150 back though for my actual order when they get the other stuff back ...

If not ill be going ballistic..

I am waiting for two things now- field pyjamas which is out for delivery on Thursday ( I changed the day as we are away atm) and the Beri gown which they haven't sent yet( had one but it was too large so sent back) .. Also a white Oxford shirt and chalk BF tee from JL

I placed an order with COS in October, 3+ weeks later it hadn't arrived. During this time I would occasionally get an update saying my package was about to be delivered and it never materialised. I asked the company to refund me and they checked the tracking, confirmed it was lost and refunded. Why can't Toast do the same.

They can't refund because they have sold out their customer services. They would have in the past. Now the dept has been outsourced.

They dont talk to one another. That is the way I see it.

Everything goes smoothly with Toast, until it doesn't.

@Laska2Meryls That really is a shocking way to treat you (and I can’t possibly see how it can be legal). That’s one of the reasons I generally prefer to order Toast via JL, much easier ordering and returns because I can do click and collect. I apparently have 2 orders from Toast arriving tomorrow and one on Thursday- very much hoping I get an option to change delivery days because we’re away tomorrow-Friday. I completely forgot about the bank holidays so got a bit mixed up. The excitement has gone a bit too - I bought some beautiful PJs and a nightie from The White Company today so not sure I’ll need everything I ordered from Toast 🤷‍♀️. We’ll see.

Well it's kind of taken the shine off Toast for me, but I dont think that I have been wuite clear.. they didnt charge me for the actual stuff they sent ( which is good as it was about 350 worth.. just wouldn't resend my actual order ( but would resell it to me with 15% off , but then id be paying twice ).. And wouldn't refund me my original money until they got back the wrong stuff. I did query that as the received back goods package wouldn't correlate to the order number how could they actually refund me? But they assured me that their system would 'know'.. To be honest I am sceptical given their recent past but we shall see.. but I wasn't going to throw good money after bad..

My JL Toast order is on its way, so that's good.. I am away atm but home tomorrow and it'll be waiting for me. I am just hoping that Toast send my Beri gown was ordered last Friday but not dispatched yet, so despite Toast customer service and chatline people working from Boxing day , I think that the warehouse people won't have gone back until today

Hope all works out ok @Laska2Meryls. I do think chat is useless now whereas previously they had more flexibility.
My first JL order is due tomorrow, Toast due today Tuesday I think more likely tomorrow as not showing reached local office yet. Fingers crossed all alright.

I’ve had my first of 3 Toast parcels - the beri print gown and the sage nightie. The gown is a beaut and she’s definitely staying. The nightie is not good and will be going back.

Both lovely and I’m keeping them
I don’t think I’ve ever returned any Toast items.
Got the Oxford shirt still to come from JL

And I’m still waiting for the dress I want/need to be in the sale

Gosh @Nanasueathome, how have you managed that? I probably return 70%+ of Toast orders as the sizing and fit is so unpredictable.

I usually visit the Cheltenham shop and get a good idea of the sizing
Then order online…but only in the sale
Almost my entire wardrobe is Toast, I’ve been buying from them for a long time

My only other ‘guilty pleasure’ is Bamford
Got lots from there too over the last few years
Their main shop is Kingham in the Cotswolds but I order online from there too
