I don't think I really have favourites. I do love my denim pinafore dress and have the same in Ithe fudgy cord. Probably that would be my favourite. I also love the rairisle alpaca in navy and fluro but I do love other knitwear by Toast too.
Very hard to decide.

Greetings! Long-time lurker here, finally getting confidence to slide in to say thank you for all the useful chat. Having walked past Toast shop for years, I went in before Christmas and impulse bought the black flat front jeans/trousers. Well! Have been wearing them almost solidly since. Followed up with famous green arran cardie and pj shirt from the sale (love them both), and then ordered three pairs of indigo jeans to try - will be keeping the pleated front ones although they’re a tiny bit tight round the waist (I’m hoping post-Christmas abstentions will resolve this). I’m loving the quality, and the fit although I seem to be a bit stuck between 10/12 in the jeans (the 10 black jeans are much roomier than the indigo styles). It’s a shame that my local Toast shop only ever seems to have a limited range of sizes to try so have to go through online ordering palaver. Having had a landmark birthday recently, and a change in lifestyle (now working for myself, from home) I’ve been feeling the need to reassess my wardrobe, which is far too full of stuff I no longer love or wear. I have resolved to favour quality over quantity, purchase mindfully, spend money on pieces I will wear repeatedly, and which will make me feel good every day, rather than saving things for best. Sorry for the ramble, but very happy to be here!

Laska2Meryls · 09/01/2022 20:26

Saurus have a great DH birthday trip , looking fab, especially like the dark dress..

Difficult to say what my favourite Toast things are.. I love and wear and wear the Mira jumpers ( have 4!) Over and over .. I also have several fabulous long shirts ( especially love the Taro dogtooth one for winter)... Then theres trousers , Alix and wide legs of all types summer and winter.. so much stuff! All of my tees are Toast now.. love the nightwear...The bamboo nightdresses I wear constantly and the ide and checked pjs right now .. dhuggies, several scarves...bags.. more jumpers. Heck... most of my wardrobe is Toast!
Not so many dresses or skirts though .. Now that I am no longer working, I just don't tend to wear them so much

ilovecherries · 09/01/2022 20:33

Welcome Marmite, do stay! It’s sounds as if we are doing a lot of buying atm but that’s because it’s sales time. We also just talk a lot about what we are wearing/how we style them/what we lust for/ eBay purchases. Always nice to have new people join us so we can live vicariously through someone else’s wardrobe!

AmethystMoonShine · 09/01/2022 20:38

Goodness yes…. We don’t normally all shop at this rate Grin although we do get quite excited and impatient waiting for the sales! Sharing how we wear our lovely Toast items and so the best bit!

ScottishMouse · 09/01/2022 20:40

@MmeD, I’d be interested in hearing about the sizing in the dungarees. I have always assumed they wouldn’t work for me in the same way that jumpsuits don’t - I am busty with a rather round stomach but have very small hips, so am much larger on top than bottom which means that one pieces are either too small on top if the bottom half fits or too big on the bottom of the top half fits. But I’m wondering if the dungarees might work because there isn’t a “full” top half. What do the bottom half fit like compared to other Toast trousers?

applecatchers36 · 09/01/2022 20:42

Have a fabulous time away celebrating your DH's birthday Saurus, loving the dresses and styling with the bags 👌

Laska2Meryls · 09/01/2022 20:44

Gosh yes, I bought all fou of my Mira jumpers in the sale ( two of them in the summer and have only just started wearing them) .. I rarely buy anything full price ( but occasionally get FOMO and do...)

Marmite71 · 09/01/2022 20:44

Thanks for the welcome! Agree that I can’t keep this expenditure up , but it’s given me a boost, and I am enjoying reading about how you all wear your lovely things

MmeD · 09/01/2022 20:57

Hi @ScottishMouse, the sizing in the dungarees is quite generous and forgiving around the bottom half, with a nice long crotch length. I have a “bubble bottom”. and a narrow back, and often find trousers uncomfortable - so don’t have any other Toast trousers - but in these dungarees, my bottom disappears so you don’t get the toddler/La-La tellietubby effect from behind - they just skim everything if you see what I mean.

Let me know if you need any more info - I’m not used to advising on clothes! Smile

ScottishMouse · 09/01/2022 21:22

Thanks @MmeD, that’s really useful. I think my suspicions may be right and they might not work for me, I need them to be neater around the bottom half and forgiving on the top half. But maybe I’ll give them a go next time I want to order something else.

Saurus72 · 09/01/2022 21:49

Thanks for all the nice replies 😊. @AmethystMoonShine - the Chloe bag (and the pink Mulberry) is 6 years old and was eye wateringly expensive but honestly one of my best buys. I’ve worn it at posh restaurants but also for walks on the beach and it’s completely brilliant and you don’t have to baby it. I saving up for a tan version…

RazorToast · 09/01/2022 22:17

Hi everyone. Found that other thread quite shocking, but it reinforced to me how lovely everybody on this thread is and how nice it is to be on it. Have just returned a cashmere jumper to JL in case anyones interested. It's the one with the rounded hem in blue size small and was reduced to 136 pounds but is still full price on Toast website. Saurus , you look fab in your lovely dresses.

mizu · 10/01/2022 07:29

The TOAST dungarees are amazing and very flattering. I am a 10-12 and have them in a 10. Definitely one of my favourite items in wardrobe (on my clothes rail Grin).

Other favourite items are the denim dresses / jumpers / bags from TOAST......

mizu · 10/01/2022 07:30

Will love these forever.

The orange dress is out of the wardrobe! I’m wearing it with a neat charcoal grey Harley sweater over, my Blundstone boots, and a very old big grey cashmere scarf from Cos. Feels good on a dreary Monday.

AmethystMoonShine · 10/01/2022 08:07

Love the sound of that @ScottishMouse, charcoal & orange sound fab.
I’m in a cream herringbone shirt, the apple green Aran cardigan and denim skirt… all Toast.

AFingerofFudge · 10/01/2022 08:44

My sale order is due to be delivered today so I'll report back on all hits or misses!

Laska2Meryls · 10/01/2022 09:02

Mizu I have both of those jumpers also ( and both bought in the sale in the days when they used to discount down to something like £55... Fab both of them

ilovecherries · 10/01/2022 09:57

I have a crinkle cotton dress arriving today in a small to replace the medium that came last week and the golden syrup dress.

dollywouldnt · 10/01/2022 10:35

hello everyone, I've been following the toast threads for a while but finally felt moved to post after the other thread. I was particularly enraged by all the talk of women dressing as toddlers - I'm not sure what's wrong with wearing warm, comfortable, practical clothes you can move freely in. I love Toast, Folk and YMC and am normally dressed in a boiler suit, dungarees, sturdy trousers, or a denim sack dress, and very happy about it I am too.

Snowyowl78 · 10/01/2022 10:57

If anyones waivering over the patchwork scarf, I’ve totally changed my mind on it and keeping it. Think as I was expecting something bigger and chunkier I wasn’t that keen but have realised how versatile it will be being more delicate and lightweight. It’s rather expensive for a scarf but it is beautiful! Packing up my sales returns, embarrassingly i have 4 parcels to take to the post office!

dudsville · 10/01/2022 11:13

Ha ha @snowyowl, I get embarrassed at the post office. I'm in a little village where this is really noticeable. When I was returning my toast stuff I said "and that's it for my sales shopping!", and then was back an hour later with the too-big arran cardi Blush!

Laska2Meryls · 10/01/2022 11:14

Good to see that more people have joined us .Welcome ! ( so glad that the OP of the other thread has brought us some great new friends rather than vindicating her narrow ideas of style and beauty) ..
I am still away in my van, we'll be walking up to Clifton today.. I will be wearing Toast .. Smile

Laska2Meryls · 10/01/2022 11:16
