[quote NoCureForLove]Lots of Harleys on this fab website - the fabulously named Dicks of Edinburgh

The Vetinary college in Edinburgh is The Royal Dick.

Lovely Harley knitwear in The Corner Gallery, Moffat. Small stock but they commission some of their exclusive colourways. Lovely Edibé cardies too.

@neveradullmoment99 - looks fab on you!

unlike my delivery of things which are all going straight back - pyjama bottoms too big (but I have the smaller size coming). Both jumpers - fair isle and the blue jacquard wool easy - I don't like either enough to keep

ilovecherries · 07/01/2022 14:22

It looks lovely on you never. For me, the issue is it DID make me look exactly as if I was wearing the same nurse’s uinform I had in 1978! It was somewhat disturbing to see!

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 07/01/2022 14:25

My pintuck skirt in slate arrived today, the waist fits well but I can’t imagine what I will wear it with. It seems to have so much fabric and is very long on me.
Does anyone else have it? How do you wear it?
I want to love it but I can’t face a marathon trying on session again today.

marmiteloversunite · 07/01/2022 15:40

Hi Toast lovers, this is a long shot but I ordered the jackard wool easy sweater in navy, size large. Today I was delivered the cjpak linen striped dress in xs small!

Toast are now out of stock of my jumper and have refunded me and told me to keep the dress.

So if any of you are expecting an extra small dress and receive a large jumper instead could you message me? Thanks.

Oh dear. This happened to Laska on here but a completely different order. Its really not good enough. Fingers crossed you get your jumper.
neveradullmoment99 · 07/01/2022 15:49

They aren't charging you for the dress?
What is the point in giving it to you if it doesn't fit?
You could sell it on ebay though!

neveradullmoment99 · 07/01/2022 15:50

Thanks to everyone regarding the linen/slubby cotton dress. I am quite pleased with it.

marmiteloversunite · 07/01/2022 15:59

I did say it was a bit pointless giving me the dress but I suppose I can sell it. Bit of a hassle though.

If anyone sees the navy jackard jumper in a large come back into stock please let me know. Really feeling annoyed about it!

billydilly · 07/01/2022 16:08

@theteapotsbrokenspout I have the pintuck skirt. It's long on me as I'm a short arse (5.3') and yes, it's voluminous. I wear mine with close fitting tops to provide balance, I actually really like the almost crinoline effect, swishy!

faustina · 07/01/2022 16:36

@marmiteloversunite - I have just sent back the jacquard jumper in a medium this afternoon. It's a very big medium. Maybe you can try that once it gets back to Toast? I also saw one on John Lewis this morning so perhaps you could keep an eye out for it there too?

marmiteloversunite · 07/01/2022 16:38

Thank you! Will keep an eye out for that. None at John Lewis when I looked earlier. Will keep trying.

ilovecherries · 07/01/2022 16:45

Am I the only one with an almost irresistible urge to buy that poor maligned denim swing dress now? I resisted it before because it’s not terribly unlike a Kin dress I already have (in cord, not denim) but now I’m lusting it again!

ilovecherries · 07/01/2022 16:47

That’s a shame, marmite. I bought that jumper earlier in the season and I love it. So comfortable and cosy. Hope you find one.

MmeD · 07/01/2022 16:48

I’ve been eyeing that denim swing dress for a long time, but really can’t justify it to myself

Blossomtoes · 07/01/2022 16:50

It’s bloody gorgeous but it didn’t work me me at all. You have to be tall 😢
Theteapotsbrokenspout · 07/01/2022 16:55

I’m 5' 4 @billydilly so not much taller. I was hoping to wear the skirt through the winter into spring so I would need some layers, but you’re right it does need a close fitting top to give it balance.
It also arrived a bit creased so didn’t fall particularly well when I tried it on.

Hopefully I will feel a bit more inspired tomorrow and can try it on with a few of my tops and see how it works Smile .

dudsville · 07/01/2022 17:01

I caught up on this thread and then went to look at this MC dowdy clothes thread referenced here. Ah well, so some folks don't like the clothes. I'm tempted to go back on to it and post pics of the clothes that I think are illustrated nicely on Toast but who would I be trying to convince, and of what?

I also saw the comemnt that JL had put more in their toast sale... damn it, I bought two cord skirts. They will be just the thing to pack in my steamer trunk as i make my way across the seas to the new world.

Stoic123 · 07/01/2022 17:05

@neveradullmoment99- ooh, the slubby dress does look good with something underneath. Off to try options.

It also works well with a bright bandana (like Toast photo).

Will def be keeping.

AmethystMoonShine · 07/01/2022 17:35

Gutted that after ironing and tweaking I cannot get the vibrant check dress to hang nicely at the back. It looks like I’m smuggling a cushion up the back of the dress. Not a look I’m after really Hmm
I’ve lusted after that dress and the skirt for ages. Missed out on the skirt and the dress just doesn’t suit me. Ah well my bank balance will be glad.

LoveaStatementNap · 07/01/2022 17:56

Hi all. After some siding advice. I recently bought one if he Toast gowns (medium, but it’s very big, and I’m not small!) and I’m in love. What’s the sizing like on the jumpers? I’m eyeing up the yoke alpaca jumper and the alpaca cable cardigan and the Aran jumper (gutted I missed the aran cardigan in the sale). I’m a 14 usually, in jumpers, so will medium work? But I am in the process of losing weight so I don’t want to buy too big e.g large and it be useless in a month.

Also, is it worth me hanging on in case one of these suddenly appears in the sale or will they not add any more now?

Final question: with out of stock sale items is it worth me refreshing? Just in case that aran cardigan comes back in medium!

Thanks!

ilovecherries · 07/01/2022 19:31

I have jumper sizing quite variable tbh. I have sizes from small to large (high street 12). I start with medium though, but I do like a loose-ish fit. It’s def worth stalking the site for returns, as they do seem to restock quite quickly.

dudsville · 07/01/2022 20:20

@loveastatementnap, I'm a 14 usually and when toast knitwear is s,m,l the mediums have been cozy, not fitted and the large have been far too big. I think I could wear a small, but it's not a look I'm into.

LoveaStatementNap · 07/01/2022 22:14

@ilovecherries and @dudsville Thank you both for the advice, much appreciated!

Memo7 · 07/01/2022 22:54

Hi @LoveaStatementNap, what colour of the Alpaca Yoke jumper are you thinking of getting? I’m still dawdling over the green/navy one.
Was waiting to see if it was going to be reduced but no luck yet.
I usually get a size M or a L in knitwear, size 12 but I like them loose and oversized.
