New thread for all lovers of Toast clothing, link to the last thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/4388083-Toastie-in-our-winter-woolies-Toast-10?watched=1&msgid=113550424#113550424

I succumbed to the Sadie shirt and am considering the seed dress - does anyone have that one?

TerrierofTerror sounds like a good haul. I would keep the dress that duplicates your Zara one - if you wear it a lot, the Zara one may not be as long lasting and you will be happy of a replacement?

Jealous of the sewing and knitting abilities.

TheChattyRat · 07/01/2022 12:17

Oh I meant to add the poplin yoke shirt arrived and was so unflattering I actually laughed at my reflection in the mirror!

ilovecherries · 07/01/2022 12:25

I tried the poplin yoke shirt as well, had a total WTAF moment and packed it back up before anyone witnessed how bad I looked in it.

I have the Sadie shirt, adore it. I don’t have the seed dress, but I have the shirt and have worn that a lot. It’s a lovely fabric.

My doctor told me today that I looked ‘unimaginably stylish’. She may just have been trying to cheer me up but it was still nice to be told I looked nice. Wearing the wool checked Alix with the orange loop back top and Brasher boots, why a CoS puffa thing I got from eBay.

@TempleofZoom

Another anti middle class clothes thread in S&B primarily aimed at bashing Toast. This is getting a bit wierd now. Its like the anti nurse/ anti cyclist threads that pop up every other week.
What thread is that? Can’t see it but yes, everyone seems to be anti everything atm. Not sure if it’s everyone is just so ground down with covid or what but it’s exhausting.
TempleofZoom · 07/01/2022 12:32

Its the Middle class clothes are ugly thread.
Links to lots of toast dresses.
Its quite nasty really.
Unless you wear revealing clothes you are an ugly frump and I quote " dont want to get laid"
Angry
Probably MRAs invading again

ilovecherries · 07/01/2022 12:34

Haha, found the thread. Poor art teachers (and librarians) always get such a bad rap too.

MmeD · 07/01/2022 12:34

Hurrah! I’ve found the Toast thread! Came searching after I saw it mentioned on the aforementioned Toast-bashing thread.

Which, I must say, is very funny and won’t stop me loving my clothes one bit🤣

I’m afraid I rose to the bait and posted on that thread. Don’t get why some women get so affronted by other people’s choices!
TabithaTittlemouse · 07/01/2022 12:37

The horrible thread has prompted me to say hello! I read this thread but haven’t posted on it before (I’ve been on mn for 15 years with various names so not new new).

I am not a frump and get laid quite often Wink I am also very stylish imo

faustina · 07/01/2022 12:57

@TempleofZoom, at the risk of sounding like an elderly judge, what is/are MRAs?

Stoic123 · 07/01/2022 12:58

@Theteapotsbrokenspout- tried on slubby dress again to check dip situation and luckily not seeing one - so could be diifferent body shape/variations in cut.

However, I now can't stop seeing a nurse's uniform.

Mens Rights Activists
They come over from Incel type forums to goad/ post nasty stuff.
I was tipped off by someone taps nose
An awful lot of the nasty stuff on forums like MN is trolls essentially.

TabithaTittlemouse · 07/01/2022 13:05

@faustina mens rights activists (or anti feminist). They hate mumsnet and regularly slate us all over Twitter etc. They occasionally stalk mumsnet to stir trouble. Mn appears to be enemy number 1.

(I think that’s right anyway!)

faustina · 07/01/2022 13:10

Tabitha and Temple, thank you! I didn't realise they did that. Used to be some car enthusiast forum (dragging this up from the depths of my memory) - petrolheads? - who invaded MN. Sign of the times - or something

Saurus72 · 07/01/2022 13:19

@TabithaTittlemouse hi - very glad to hear about your regular getting laid situation 🤗

I just recieved the slubby dress and I absolutely love everything about it. The only thing maybe is that it is a little thin. Its gorgeous. No dip. Not like a uniform or nurse. Just a gorgeous shirt dress in a beautiful blue that goes with my nes brora fairisle cardi.

neveradullmoment99 · 07/01/2022 13:31

new not nes.

neveradullmoment99 · 07/01/2022 13:32

I had a long sleeved tee under it and put a necklace on. It looked lovely. I leave a few buttons undone.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 07/01/2022 13:37

@Stoic123 I think it must be a combination of narrow shoulders and big bust, it was quite pronounced. I could wiggle the dress on my shoulders to get it nearly level then it would slide back again.
Yes, I got the nurse vibe as well, glad I didn’t keep it.

neveradullmoment99 · 07/01/2022 13:37

Chambray dress

TOAST 2022, what will it bring us?!
neveradullmoment99 · 07/01/2022 13:38

With my boots, I think it looks fine

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 07/01/2022 13:40

@neveradullmoment99 I’m glad it suits you Smile , it just had to find the right person. It is a lovely colour, and a good fabric, especially for summer.

neveradullmoment99 · 07/01/2022 13:42

I have quite narrow shoulders so the way it fits across with the collar suits me. I have quite a few dresses in this style.

neveradullmoment99 · 07/01/2022 13:43

Btw, I just happened to have the long sleeved tee under it. I just slung it over the top.

ScottishMouse · 07/01/2022 13:45

Looks lovely on you @neveradullmoment99. I have the similar one without a collar, I think it is the same fabric, and I love it. Wore it so much in the summer.
