I wouldnt call them bulky as its needlecord but they are pleated at the shoulder, then pouffey tapering down to a non fitted cuff.
Ive got long arms and they come just above my wrist bone, however I almost always layer due to freezing.

I'm attracted to the golden syrup one. Love the name and colour but I don't like it on the model. I think its the sleeves. I'm sure it looks much better on you and in real life.

I didnt feel the sleeves were out of proportion .
It looks quite short in the picture and I can only assume the model is very tall indeed.
I did go down 2 sizes though to an 8 and its plenty roomy

How are you tying the bandanas @faustina ? I love the colour of mine but it’s smaller than what I’m used to so I’m struggling to get it right.

@Theteapotsbrokenspout - just round my neck with a double knot - nothing fancy. It's that little bit of glorious colour peeping out at the neck which seems to make all the difference. I think I've worn one every day since they arrived! I have the green and the red. Which do you have?

I was obviously overthinking it @faustina . I’ve got the green, I think it’s a really lovely colour.

it is beautiful isn't it? I have a few big cashmere scarves for when it's cold, but I generally don't do scarves as I find them quite fussy - these little ones are so wearable though!

I have a couple of the bandana type scarves too and I love them. I do find them a bit smaller than some others I have @Theteapotsbrokenspout, but they just about work with a double knot.

Have just had another big try on session of all the sale stuff I ordered. Have been swithering about some things so hadn’t sent any returns back yet. But I think I am going to send everything except a cushion cover back.
The poplin pj shirt is going to annoy me with the swishy noise of it.
The seed check shirt is lovely and comfy but I don’t think it does anything for me and is too wide to fit neatly under sweaters.
The seersucker shirt is just a bit meh and I think I could find a nicer summer weight (off) white shirt.
The washed sweater is going back because the other one pulled badly.
The Mul Mul shirt is too thin.
The tattersall top doesn’t work with a bigger bust.
The brushed cotton top is very uninspiring.
And that was it. A very disappointing sale haul. But echoing comments up thread, I need to be more mindful in my shopping habits, I don’t need any of these things, and none of them are wow enough to earn a spot in my wardrobe.

@ScottishMouse, I sincerely hope that you won’t be offended but every time you write the utterly magnificent and totally Scottish word ‘swithering’, I have to read it out loud in my best The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie voice. 🙈

It’s the best word, isn’t it @SmaugMum? I’m not even a real Scot, but it is one of the words I adopted early on when I moved here many moons ago.

That can be disappointing @ScottishMouse, after a long wait for a parcel, but I think it's admirable, to only keep the things that really work.

Oh I just worked it out, it's embarrassingly easy. I'm doing a practice go by sharing a grilled cheese I made recently.

I ordered the Brora cardi I wanted from JL sale this morning as one came back in stock, but only on a 12.. , I think that I may need the 14 though.... so fingers crossed..

Just snapped up a return on JL of the gingham cotton cashmere dress with the puffy sleeves. Not sure if the sleeves will work for me, and they only had a 12 so may be too big (I can be either 10 or 12 in Toast tops/dresses depending on style). Has anyone tried it and can report back?

My Toast parcel from JL is due today and my ‘final’ sale parcel from Toast is due tomorrow

Although I’m still eyeing up a few Toast sale items…..ugh

I’m almost certain that it was reduced further just a week later
So probably towards the end of this week, start of next week

@Beetlejuice1971, welcome! The homeware sales have been very poor in recent years and I don’t often see the bedding reduced, apart from one or two quilts or blankets. Fingers crossed for you that I’m proved wrong!

My Apple Green arran cardigan has arrived and it is LUSH. I love everything about it; the weight of the fabric, the pattern, the slightly full sleeves, the not-too-boxy fit, the buttons, the detail around the neck and especially the zingy-ness of the colour. I’m wearing it out on the school run with my last-year JL magenta cashmere wrap scarf - I hope everyone has their sunglasses at the ready!
