Email from Toast
My last (and final) order is on the way
Vibrant check dress
Akiko pocket book
And the patchwork bundle pouch (which several of you convinced me I needed)
I always keep a pocket book in my handbag and find them very useful when I need to make note of something when out and about or need to remember something. They’re always lovely too

Laska2Meryls · 03/01/2022 09:59

Obviously not Toast ....but does anyone know when the Brora sale starts?

dudsville · 03/01/2022 10:06

I've got one package on it's way to the post office from Toast so I don't expect it any time soon. A second, my NYE merry splurge, hasn't yet been fulfilled/despatched and I wonder if they will have sold out.

I did a new tally of my Toast purchases for this year:
2 coats, 4 tops, 3 skirts, 2 dresses, 2 pairs of trousers, 2 cardigans and a scarf. The deliveries I'm waiting on (jumper, cardigan, skirt and 3 tops) add significantly to this if I keep them. Partly I don't mind, I haven't been on holiday in two years and I do wear these things daily. They were also all a part of my change of style that I started in 2019 when I was building a new look from scratch, but I really want to try to do a no spend year now (like your aim to shop more mindfully @ToastCosILoveIt). I have so many nice things now and love getting dressed, but this has been a significant wardrobe overhaul and I would benefit from sitting on my hands for a bit. Pratically everything I have now is new or in good condition, there are no wardrobe gaps. I've gone back and looked at the few remaining things "saved" awaiting them going on sale and I deleted them finally realising that they would not be sigificant additions to my wardrobe.

applecatchers36 · 03/01/2022 11:27

A wardrobe overhaul full of Toast sounds fabulous I hope you continue to enjoy your lovely new clothes Dudsville

My sale purchases have not been successful. I ordered the stripey horizontal jumper and akes my norks look huge. Also a fawn jumper my DH said was not a good look (Dowdy) is also going back!

faustina · 03/01/2022 11:37

@Laska2Meryls - January 6th, but usually with a preview if you've already bought from them

AmethystMoonShine · 03/01/2022 11:45

I’ve had despatch emails now for my two orders placed on 30th December. Not sure I’ll be keeping by it all but looking forward to trying on.

Laska2Meryls · 03/01/2022 11:45

Thanks , no I haven't ...oh well... I did sign up.to.emails the other day

ToastCosILoveIt · 04/01/2022 13:23

So, my order of the 16 December finally arrived this am. The Floral Print Silk Cotton PJ Shirt in a 12 is lovely and a keeper. It looks great buttoned up to the top: with jeans (Toast of course) at the weekend and with black trousers for work. However, because it took so long to arrive, it went into the sale and so I ordered it again and will keep that one when it eventually arrives.

The men's Houndstooth Check Cotton Shirt looks lovely. This is for my husband and was meant as part of his Christmas present. i like it but he is at work today so let's see what he thinks when he gets home.

I also ordered a couple of pairs of Falke socks - the active breeze socks and the trainer socks: both keepers.

Your shirt looks lovely @ToastCosILoveIt - I wonder if you contacted them they would refund you the difference? It must be less hassle for everyone - maybe their system won’t allow it tho?

I’m on tenterhooks here - 2 orders from before Christmas we’re supposedly delivered to my local delivery office Thursday/Friday last week but there’s been no update on the tracking site since then. The navy poplin dress that I ordered after Christmas is apparently being delivered tomorrow and the baubles I ordered at the weekend haven’t been dispatched. Think this is the longest ever wait for my sale buys, maybe I am learning how to be mindful and patient Hmm

ScottishMouse · 04/01/2022 15:27

I got my last sale parcel today, but I’m not sure if I’m keeping anything.
The navy washed wool sweater is lovely. I already have the yellow, so knew what it would be like, but having had a good look at the yellow one, it has pulled badly, so I am going to send the navy back.
The seersucker check shirt (from last summer I think) is nice. But maybe no more than nice. Does anyone have it?
I am still swithering about the poplin pj shirt from my other order. I can’t remember who was waiting for one. Wondering if it’s a keeper for you?

Laska2Meryls · 04/01/2022 16:23

I am only waiting the Emma tee in chalk from JL. but now waiting on tenterhooks for Brora sale .. sadly I missed out on Brora in JL - it didn't occur to me to look

Laska2Meryls · 04/01/2022 16:25

.... but there's a Raspberry checked dress on JL if anyone wants one !!! Grin

faustina · 04/01/2022 16:35

@Laska2Meryls - what are you after from Brora? They're restocking the JL things

ToastCosILoveIt · 04/01/2022 16:46

@ScottishMouse, are you thinking about whether or not to keep this one? - www.toa.st/products/poplin-pj-shirt-blue-grey - I ordered it in the celery colour but any of my sales orders have yet to arrive. I am a big fan of PJ shirts from Toast and love yellow so I am hoping it is one that I will want to wear with jeans in the spring/summer.

@Saurus72, the sale one is already ordered and on its way: just stuck in central London sorting office. So, I will return the full price one (which has just arrived).

ScottishMouse · 04/01/2022 16:52

That’s the one @ToastCosILoveIt. Style and fit are great, and the colour is good on me. My worry is the poplin - it arrived very creased and I can’t be arsed with ironing, but also the comment I made further up the thread about my experience with a dark poplin top from Toast which did not wash well. Otherwise it is perfect, so I am minded to risk it.

ScottishMouse · 04/01/2022 16:53

The yellow looks great, I was tempted, but not sure that shade of yellow would be good on me. I think it would wash better than the dark colour though.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 04/01/2022 16:56

My poplin pj shirt arrived today @ScottishMouse, after our discussion about washing I had decided I probably wouldn’t keep it. It looked a bit meh but when I tried it on I really liked it. It is a bit big on the shoulders even though I’ve sized down. I’m waiting for the Floral print pj shirt and I’ve already kept the Oxford shirt from jl, I don’t think I need that many new shirts Blush.

I also got the Lam check dress which is a lovely weight but too tight at the top of the arms and the rest of it swamps me.
The slubby shirt dress, which fits really well but is a bit plain (and arrived very crumpled). Can’t decide about that yet.
And a cotton bandana which I really wanted because of the colour but seems quite small, although I’ll probably keep it anyway.

ToastCosILoveIt · 04/01/2022 16:57

@ScottishMouse, ah interesting, yes I saw your comment about poplin. I am a lover of it, including the way it can rustle, so it won't be an issue for me. In fact i have also ordered the cotton poplin pinafore wrap dress from last summer that made its way briefly into this sale again. I have the poplin navy nightdress that was referred to up thread and it has washed well. What size did you order and was it a good fit. I ordered my usual (high street) size 12 and I am hoping it is a good fit? I don't tend to size down in Toast blouses. Did you order the navy or the yellow? It is interesting to see that the navy is all but sold out but lots left in the yellow!

OP posts:
ScottishMouse · 04/01/2022 17:08

Ah it was you @Theteapotsbrokenspout! Yes, it is really nice on, isn’t it? I think I am going to keep it too. Looks good open over a tshirt as a light jacket type layer for summer.
@ToastCosILoveIt, I ordered a 10. I am between 10 and 12 in Toast tops, 12 elsewhere. I think either would have fitted in this one though. Yes, it was the navy, although it is more dark blueish grey, the slate colour that Toast often so. I would really like it in white.

ScottishMouse · 04/01/2022 17:19

The pink dress has been snapped up again on JL. I wonder if it’s a keeper this time!

dudsville · 04/01/2022 18:02

That pink dress...it's been tried by so many now. Does anyone know if companies steam clothes between sales?

Anyhoo, I have a delivery tomorrow, THE fair isle jumper, the Sahara yellow pintuck skirt and the field check tie neck top. My last sale parcel is stuck in no man's land, it's being delivered by the post office and tracking has always just said Toast has alerted them that they are sending it to them.

Your collective poplin love has motivated me and I'm going to try wearing the loud dress when I return to work. It'll help me manage the return to work blues!

faustina · 04/01/2022 18:17

@dudsville - please post a pic of the fair isle tomorrow so I can admire from a distance while I wait for mine!

For something so small, the two cotton bandanas have brought me so much joy already - they're really stunning. I keep looking to see if anyone's returned the yellow one, or either of the silk ones

billydilly · 04/01/2022 18:59

@dudsville, you're going to love the Sahara skirt, voluminous and swishy; I adore.mine

TempleofZoom · 04/01/2022 19:30

My brown slate pintuck dress arrived.
Its soft black Grin
Lovely, I hesitated in case the size 8 was too small or looked tunicky ( sp?)but its really nice.
Just waiting for my aran cardigan now.
