My second Toast order has arrived. The marzipan yoke sweater is so pretty - more of an egg yolk colour as a previous poster described - but the material is very scratchy. I also ordered the full price ginger alpaca yoke sweater which isn't as flattering but the yarn is soo soft. Not decided yet as waiting on a Brora order from JL.

Stoic123 · 31/12/2021 15:54

Crinkled cotton dress in black has arrived - it's great. JL also price matched the gathered hem skirt in Terracota .

Just a fair isle scarf and a stripe tee in transit to arrive........then breathe Smile.

ilovecherries · 31/12/2021 16:55

I’m waiting for the crinkle cotton dress and the Arran cardigan. The long Oxford shirt was a bit meh on me so is going back to JL. I also bought a few tees as my tee shirts could do with a refresh this summer.

SmaugMum · 31/12/2021 17:30

My marzipan sweater arrived this morning and it’s a dead heat in my affections between it and the blue/green version; but I already have a blue Fair Isle yolk jumper so back off to JL the latter will go next week. I never wear sweaters next to my skin so the feel of the wool doesn’t bother me. I love the yellow shade and I think I can wear it over a few of my summer dresses in the spring to extend their season/s.

But I caved and ordered the arran cardigan in apple green last night (and I’m glad I did as it was swiftly out of stock) so then it will be a beauty parade between the marzipan yolk and the apple arran!

I’ve just done some customer research for JL and my reward is £150 of vouchers so that’s pleasure money for me to spend so it is a choice between the cardigan and the jumper.

Anyone tried the white cotton textured smock shirt?
Thinking of getting it while it’s still 2021 as cutting down big time in 2022

My first 2 parcels arrived today.
I waited until everything was done for tomorrow, shopping, cleaning, baking so that I could enjoy opening them.
Field and Fleur gown and Pyjamas -perfect, Im going to keep this for wafting around the house dramaticallyWink
My old grey check gown will be used on chicken duty when its my turn already torn on the cage
Ine Pyjamas and the Koyo gown came up larger but I like nightwear loose so keeping.
Fairisle scarf is gorgeous- would have paid full price for this.
Denim panelled skirt-almost talked myself out of this as I though it would be too heavy.
Its a really nice shape and will be very useful
Fairisle socks-nice but pretty average for £14.

Waiting on the cord dress and cardigan now.

NoCureForLove · 31/12/2021 19:19

Which cord dress Temple?
I bought the yoke shirt dress one in the sale and am wearing it right now! Really like it and a bit of a different shape from lots of my stuff.

Its the needlecord shirt dress in brown slate. I tried this in a 10 in the toast shop and it was huge so decided to risk ordering an 8 . Ive worn the denim swingy dress so much and I love it but it was like a tent in a 10 and so gambled on a 6 Confused but the gamble paid off! I think it will be terribly useful in a chuck on with tights/ boots and a thermal polo neck type of way.
Saurus72 · 31/12/2021 20:28

@TempleofZoom that sounds like a really good little haul. I’m a little bit frustrated that I’m still waiting for 3 parcels but I guess that means I’ll have something to look forward to next week. I keep getting ‘update’ emails from Royal Mail and things seem to have gone to the wrong sorting offices 🤷‍♀️

Countmeout · 31/12/2021 21:08

My Hal jacket arrived from JL. Think a keeper, just that bit different from my denim jacket, I can wear a jumper underneath so that’s a plus.
Having slept on the green jumper I think it’s going back, just a bit disappointed with the colour, not as vivid as I remembered and being shorter than the Mira from last year not as good for me I think, it does have lovely long sleeves though. The marzipan jumper is even better on trying again today. So that’s going to stay.

Did anyone notice the blue version of the yolk jumper on Christmas at Chatsworth? It was at the very end of it, I only watched it today.

dudsville · 31/12/2021 21:23

I just made another purchase. I blame feeling merry on a couple of glasses of wine and going to bed after a very plesant day. I've worn the orange coat out and felt wonderful in it. Today was warmer and I had on some wide leg trousers and striped tee with the charcoal cardigan and yellow mac. I think the toast love is at an all time high. I bought the arran, but in the mushroomy colour, the short sleeved tee and the vest.

TerrierOrTerror · 02/01/2022 08:52

Ordered for the first time on Boxing Day but still waiting on my order. I am really hoping I don't love everything for the sake of my bank balance!

AmethystMoonShine · 02/01/2022 12:30

I ordered on 30th… two actually Blush and the wait is torture Grin So many weekend days and bank holiday days in the way of my despatch!

Stoic123 · 02/01/2022 14:31

Royal Mail delivered a Toast parcel today, which was an unexpected bonus. The Fairisle Scarf goes beautifully with the two coats I wear most (a beige and a navy) and is a beautiful pattern. Perhaps would have preferred it to be a tad longer, but a keeper nonetheless.

Stripe Easy Tee was thicker material than expected (as mentioned upthread by Faustina?) but I bought it to wear under a Toast denim pinafore and it works a treat for that purpose- so also staying.

No returns this time.

AmethystMoonShine · 02/01/2022 14:51

Sounds successful @Stoic123. I’m impressed that Royal Mail deliver on a Sunday where you are….. it IS Sunday isn’t it?

Stoic123 · 02/01/2022 15:15

@AmethystMoonShine- I hope it is or I've lost a day! Yorkshire's special but not that special Grin. Never known it happen before.

.

faustina · 02/01/2022 15:19

@Stoic123 - oh lucky you, having a delivery today!!! I ordered - can't remember when - when they added some things - and I haven't even had a despatch email yet. It is frustrating having so many no post days. It also means they don't restock the sale as they usually do with returns

AmethystMoonShine · 02/01/2022 15:27

Probably same as me @faustina on the 30th… that’s when they added the new sale items. In fact it was the same dates as last year, sale started 22/12 and new lines added 30/12. No despatch emails here either… so long to wait Grin

faustina · 02/01/2022 15:32

We will have to stamp our feet @AmethystMoonShine - that should fix it!
Grin

TheChattyRat · 02/01/2022 15:43

Hellloooo, happy new year Toastistas!

I've been following the sale chat from afar. It is great to hear the reviews.

I've been fairly restrained so far but have ordered
Poplin yoke shirt
Jude trousers
Poplin tuck dress
wool jumper

Ok that does actually seem like a lot Blush. None has arrived yet as I ordered late in the sale. Does anyone have any intel on when the prices may reduce again?

Thought I would link this for those who liked the jerkin:
waistcoat

@dudsville your new year's eve outfit sounds lovely.

mizu · 02/01/2022 16:35

So tempted by the fair isle scarf. Comments on here have been so positive.

ToastCosILoveIt · 02/01/2022 18:17

@TheChattyRat, your order looks fab. I have ordered the pintuck dress too (in two sizes) but it hasn't arrived.

I am waiting for four parcels now, three of which are stuck in Royal Mail's central London office. One of them was a full price order made on the 16 December and received into London on 19 December. It is shocking really. That central london office is also holding a hush order, my copy of Stanley Tucci's Taste and presents which my DH and DS ordered. I don't know what has gone wrong but something has to shift there soon.

I really think I am going to shop more mindfully this coming year. I had a bit of a clear out and a few Toast items (which were quite old) went to my Shelter Boutique shop.

ToastCosILoveIt · 02/01/2022 18:18

@TheChattyRat, also meant to say that the linked waistcoat looks really good too. I never knew i needed one until I have seen the modelling of them on here and heard all of the discussions about them.

faustina · 02/01/2022 18:48

@ToastCosILoveIt - I bet it's a covid thing with the post office. I sold something on Ebay at the end of November which took so long to get there (stuck in the post) that I made a claim with Royal Mail and received a cheque before she received it. I can't imagine it's going to be much better once the bank holidays are over, sadly

neveradullmoment99 · 02/01/2022 19:41

Ive had mostly all my stuff but It depends upon your postcode. Most stuff goes through Swansea sorting office, before it comes up to me in Scoland. I had one thing which took a week but it did arrive inbetween Christmas and New Year.
Very annoying Toastcosiloveit.
