@brogueish - if it's the fair isle shetland, from the reviews, you should be fine with a medium!

FiddleFigs · 30/12/2021 19:31

Delurking to join in the chalk aran cardi club - I couldn’t resist it, and hope it will work nicely over my Toast dresses. I love a cropped boxy cardigan. I’ve also got two dresses arriving tomorrow (Pihu and Tattersall), even though I already bought two dresses during the recent archive sale. I absolutely must not look at the sale any more!!!

AmethystMoonShine · 30/12/2021 19:39

Right, I've just finished a mammoth Toasty trying on and packaging up returns session...this is hard work Grin
The two pairs of cotton linen wide leg trousers have gone back - not flattering over my stomach - too much fabric. Also the brushed cotton top has been returned, I think it'll fade with washing and not in a good way, it was also a bit big and I couldn't be bothered to re-order in a smaller size.
I'm keeping the black Esme denim skirt as this will be worn a lot. The Tattersall Cotton check pintuck top is gorgeous and coming to live with me. The needlecord raglan shirt in slate is also staying as is the charcoal alpaca cardigan. My house is freezing and this will be very handy for winters, it's a good size for wearing over other things.
I've made two orders this afternoon...the apple aran cardigan after the love shown for it up thread and the Ditsy print easy dress...just to see as I liked this ages ago when it first arrived on the website.
Then I have also ordered the vibrant check cotton dress as I was gutted to miss out on the skirt in this fabric which sold out really fast plus the silver Emma Aitchison ripple earrings as I have the matching necklace and love that.
I have also returned the ginger alpaca yoke jumper which I bought full price earlier in December. There were some dodgy stitches on the shoulder - it looked like a stitch or two had been dropped. I used the chat facility and they were great - said not what we expect and so I'm getting a refund.
Loving reading everyone's verdicts and new orders being made Smile

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 30/12/2021 19:43

Loving all the jumpers and cardigans in the sale but I’m completely allergic to wool and wouldn’t be able to wear them. I need something just as pretty but not wool, if I start knitting now it might be done by next winter Grin .

ScottishMouse · 30/12/2021 19:50

Goodness, what a lot of chat to catch up on after a day out running errands!
The poplin chat is interesting, and thanks for the photo of the nightdress @Countmeout. I don’t think it looks bad at all, but I am only looking on my phone. I am still dithering about the pj shirt. I love the style and fit, but the dark poplin worries me.
I also made another order this afternoon on the new items. I reordered the washed wool sweater in navy that I had ordered from John Lewis, as it is cheaper on Toast. Hoping this one will be the same fit as the yellow one. Although, I wore the yellow one today and noticed that it has bobbled quite a bit despite it not having been worn all that much. So I may still change my mind and return the navy one.
I have become very fussy in my old age about quality of fabrics, and if it isn’t perfect and isn’t going to wear well, then back it goes.
I also ordered the seersucker check shirt. I looked at this in the summer, but never tried it so hope it is good. Anyone have it?
And I also ordered the scribble check cushion cover which I have been eyeing up for a while.
I guess it will be another long wait over new year to receive the parcel. I notice their website is saying up to 10 days delivery time at the moment. Still, something to look forward to when Christmas feels long past.

ScottishMouse · 30/12/2021 19:52

Was really hoping the bright yellow neat wool cardigan would be in this round of the sale, but alas no. A couple popped up early yesterday on John Lewis, but no mediums. I will keep my beady eyes peeled!

ScottishMouse · 30/12/2021 19:56

On a completely different note, has anyone ever purchased any Ecoalf products. I ordered a ubiquitous long black down (but not down) coat as I really need a wear with everything coat, and it looked a good length for wearing with dresses too, and had a decent reduction. It’s nice but a bit boring, and I’m not sure the details merit the price (full price or sale price) - a lack of details you might expect like a pull cord around the hood, and the zips on the pockets are a bit flimsy. But it fits well and will do what I need it to, so maybe I should just keep it. Just wondering if anyone has any experience of the brand?

Countmeout · 30/12/2021 20:08

Not washed with anything that sheds @TempleofZoom, in fact I washed it by itself a few times as it was so dark I was worried it might run, no doesn’t look as bad as I remember @ScottishMouse, and yes it is a summerish nightdress but it’s very solid if you know what I mean, not one for a hot night, but it’s lovely to wear round the house when you get up as you can’t see through it.

Loved the fairisle now reduced and it’s lovely in the flesh but I resisted as I got my green jumper from John Lewis late this afternoon, have yet to see it in daylight. It’s a smaller fit than the wool/cashmere I bought last year and short in the body. But I’ve worn the pumpkin one a lot , it doesn’t feel as heavy as the yolk jumpers. The weather’s been quite mild so far.
Did someone say they’d ordered the bud check dress, I liked the colour of this in store but would like it to come down a little bit more.

I’m so glad to hear you’ve 2 of an item @Nanasueathome. It’s like something I’d do, are they exactly the same.

faustina · 30/12/2021 20:09

@TempleofZoom - which did you buy? Brora must be really pissed off with JL as they haven't even started their sale yet, and from memory it isn't for a while yet.

@AmethystMoonShine - I was very tempted by those pretty earrings too!

AmethystMoonShine · 30/12/2021 20:12

I'll report back when they arrive @faustina....hoping they're okay as no returns on pierced earrings!

I was also wondering about the Brora sale, I keep checking but nothing yet....

Nanasueathome · 30/12/2021 20:26

Yep @Countmeout
Exactly the same

Countmeout · 30/12/2021 20:28

🤭 @Nanasueathome. I’ve 2 dresses the same but different patterns.

Nanasueathome · 30/12/2021 20:44

@AmethystMoonShine - I think it's something like January 5th, but you get an email to access it early if you're signed up

@Laska2Meryls - I ordered those today! Glad to hear they're nice!

Saurus72 · 30/12/2021 21:52

@Laska2Meryls I’ve ordered those and have high hopes for them! Just not sure about size - I ordered medium but my bum and thighs are not small so hope they fit ok🤞

AmethystMoonShine · 30/12/2021 22:23

That’s useful to know @faustina shall sign up!

dudsville · 30/12/2021 22:29

The fair isle sold out by 9ish!

dudsville · 30/12/2021 22:29

We had company but I snuck a look!

dudsville · 30/12/2021 23:16

I don't know the brand Ecoalf @ScottishMouse but I'm bumping for you as there has been a lot of chat this evening! If it's at all costly though I must say you don't sound enamoured and it might be worth continuing your search?

TempleofZoom · 31/12/2021 09:20

Hi @faustina
I got 2 fairisle cardigans.
One navy /orange and one silvery grey/ blue.
These are both sold out now.
Ivd already got 2 others, they are perfect with my toast stuff and warm without bulk.

Ive still got JL vouchers to spend but nothing else grabbing me.

TempleofZoom · 31/12/2021 09:26

Gosh I hope everyone likes their aran cardigans -feel a bit stressed now!😅

Im pretty long waisted but it sits very nicely and the proportions work.
Im so tempted to go for apple green as well but only if I dont like the cord dress and send it back.
Disclaimer- Ive never returned anything to toast either Blush
Im more of a planner/ stalker than an impulse buyer so I appreciate all the reviews on here!

SmaugMum · 31/12/2021 10:54

A few more Toast sale items on JL currently.

Laska2Meryls · 31/12/2021 11:16
