Annoyingly the Harlequin dress is reduced, and I haven’t even worn it yet! They only had a 16 though and now it’s gone anyway

Stoic123 · 30/12/2021 16:44

@Nanasueathome- the vibrant check is gorgeous. Much better in real life.

Unfortunately, I did an inventory of my Toast dresses/pinafores yesterday ...and no justification for more dresses (or probably more Toast full stop).

I bought a couple of pairs socks, newly added to sales, as a consolation prize (misses point Grin).

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 30/12/2021 16:47

I couldn’t get anything from the reviews either @Snowyowl78 so I’ve ordered both sizes. It looks a beautiful shirt but I couldn’t justify it at full price.

Nanasueathome · 30/12/2021 16:48

Yes, agree, its lovely
My daughter did an inventory of my Toast clothing….there’s a lot…and we discovered I have 2 of the same dress.

Snowyowl78 · 30/12/2021 16:49

@Theteapotsbrokenspout me neither, I think that’s why there are so many left! Noticed it says ‘easy fit’ so is prob quite loose.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 That is a definite sign to stop buying and wear more!
Stoic123 · 30/12/2021 17:00

@Nanasueathome- brilliant! Even my shameful amount didn't have duplicates.

dudsville · 30/12/2021 17:34

Ooh! Thanks for the heads up! Three things I wanted have been discounted. The Fair Isle shetland. Someone here has it and I saw it in the shop and it was so soft. I don't think the colours would suit me but I love it so much I promised myself I would get it if it was discounted.

The pintuck textred skirt in yellow - this is the weird one with tiers. I love the look of it but we shall see if it suits me.

The field check neck tie shirt. I feel I need to try this on as I'd been looking at it online for so long, but when I saw it in the shop I wasn't impressed by it.

Saurus72 · 30/12/2021 17:47

The final thing on my wish list went into the sale, so the navy poplin dress is on its way to me. That HAS to be the final of my 4 Toast sale orders 😬

NoCureForLove · 30/12/2021 17:50

@Nanasueathome Dud you buy usual ToSt dress size? Or size down? Love the print but reviews mixed...

faustina · 30/12/2021 17:53

@dudsville - I felt exactly the same way about the Fairisle shetland jumper - also the jacquard one - so I ordered them too! I bought three jumpers yesterday which I love, so these are going to have to be spectacular for me to keep!

I wore one of the little cotton bandannas today and it's just so lovely! Haven't worn a scarf like that for decades - I see they've just added two really pretty silk ones to the sale today but I have to stop somewhere!

I buy a size 16
I could get away with a 14 but I like my clothes loose fitted

SmaugMum · 30/12/2021 18:07

@TempleofZoom, I absolutely love that cardigan, particularly in the apple green; I hadn’t spotted it before. Tempted!

Laska2Meryls · 30/12/2021 18:10

Ordered the emma striped tee.. nothing more I want ..and definitely dont need anything !

dudsville · 30/12/2021 18:11

Your Brora stuff is stiff competition @faustina!

dudsville · 30/12/2021 18:14

That's a beautiful cardigan @TempleofZoomemple, I saw it in the shop and it felt lovely but wouldn't suit me, thankfully!

dudsville · 30/12/2021 18:15

Apple green? Ffs, off to look again!

faustina · 30/12/2021 18:17

@dudsville - they're really amazing! I wore the poppy one yesterday and the navy ribbed merino today. I'll keep them all, even if the Toast jumpers end up being unreturnable - I'll just have to make a jumper wearing rota or something!

Laska2Meryls · 30/12/2021 18:17

That green arran cardigan is lovely but looks too short sadly ....

TempleofZoom · 30/12/2021 18:27

I really love both colours but opted for the chalk.
Its quite short and boxy but sits beautifully on the waistband of the denim crop culottes which I bought at the same time as I tried it on.

TempleofZoom · 30/12/2021 18:29

I also bought 2 Brora cardigans from JL.
They are perfect and Ive worn my others so much.

ToastCosILoveIt · 30/12/2021 18:37

Ah, the pintuck navy dress is in the sale and so I have ordered a 10 and a 12, hedging my bets because the sizing is so erratic. The PJ floral print shirt is also in the sale: the full priced one I ordered before Christmas hasn't arrived yet so I have ordered the sale version. I also ordered the seersucker tunic dress which I know I will either love or hate and the silk duplon blouse in navy. So, as with some others, I am now awaiting four Toast parcels.

I have the navy poplin nightdress mentioned upthread from two or three years ago and love it but I am a big fan of poplin. Being sleeveless, it really is just a summer nightdress.

I am enjoying hearing about all of your sales purchases and what feels and looks good and what doesn't.

I like the notion of "unreturnable" @faustina! We have to do something to rationalise our choices! I always do some sums, for instance I started cutting my own hair several years ago, that's worth two or three toast items per year. I think this means I would be good at cooking the books for a dodgy company.

I have decided not to get the apple green cardigan. It's beautiful but it did not catch my eye for some reason previously, and when I compared it to my few remaining wish list items I would so rather wait and hope for them, and I have two beautiful new cardigans from this sale already.

NoCureForLove · 30/12/2021 18:47

Thoroughly recommend this. Not v distinctive but v v wearable. Lovely fine cotton and nice details. Bargain! www.toa.st/collections/sale/products/sadie-stripe-cotton-shirt-blue

brogueish · 30/12/2021 18:49

Hello, I have been lurking but as I actually bought some things in the sale this afternoon I thought I’d join in! I used to love Toast years ago (sales only though) - the bamboo jersey harems and easy dresses were winners, and I have a swimsuit from 15(?) years ago that’s still going strong. I’ve had my eye on the green Aran cardi and the fair isle jumper, both of which suddenly reduced today so I pounced. So excited to get them both, although this does mean that the JL Brora jumper I was unsure about will definitely be going back.

I’ve read a few conflicting things about the current sizing though. As a 10-12 who prefers things on the slouching side, do you think medium will work?
