Second thread, carrying on from
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/style_and_beauty/4385538-M-S-beauty-advent-calendar on day 22!

Conditioner looks nice. Probably too heavy for my hair on a normal day but good deep conditioning for days no one else will see my hair!

Merry Christmas everyone - it’s been fun! See you next year Xmas Smile

Jammallama · 25/12/2021 14:30

I've loved the calendar and look forward to all the hair treats when I get some back post chemo! Might try todays as a scalp treatment - I've been impressed and think I'll get one again next year. Merry Christmas everyone Grin

petitebleu · 25/12/2021 14:35

This has been a great thread so thanks everyone. Hoping we reconvene next year. I'll definitely be buying again.

AnnieSnap · 25/12/2021 14:41

This is my first adult Advent Calendar. I have liked it very much and really enjoyed this thread. Merry Christmas everyone! 🤶🎄

Puffincino · 25/12/2021 14:57

I thought this ended up being great value: I've enjoyed opening day by day.

for me the star product was the alpha rose overnight thingy. Liked the eye liners , the mascara, and the face creams. Am wearing the nail varnish and perfume. Think they overdid the handcreams and hair stuff.

But, yeah, it 's worked for me. Merry Christmas!

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 25/12/2021 15:01

@RampantIvy

I also think this is the best calendar. Only a few fails from me. The shower oil, liquid eyeliner, brown mascara and the perfume can all go in room 101.

With the exception of the shower oil, which I really didn't like, these were real hits for me! My room 101 candidates would be the hand cream, stress roll on thingy, and the elasticiser, which was full of silicones.

Faves were the grey eyeliner, lip balm, hair primer, and today's leave in, which I had in the summer set and which my hair loves.

Can we please have a Nuxe hair and body oil next time M&S? Even a tiny one do. Pretty please?!

Nooooo Grin

Helpstopthepain · 25/12/2021 15:27

I’m still working my way through today’s treatment from the summer box so a little disappointed.

I have loved the box and will definitely be repurchasing some products.

Merry Christmas to you all!

LivingDeadGirlUK · 25/12/2021 18:08

Yes I'm still using mine from the summer beauty box as well, but I do find it really really good. I've very little hair although its not that fine as strands go and I do think its been improving the thickness.

Countmeout · 25/12/2021 18:56

Please no Nuxe. I could sell the body oil 😕

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 25/12/2021 19:16

I'll have it! Love the stuff!

Anjelika · 25/12/2021 19:33

Does anyone know what the Elasticiser is supposed to do? I put it on yesterday and noticed absolutely no difference afterwards. This was the version from a couple of years ago which I found in a drawer in the bathroom -obvs tried it then and thought the same 🤣🤣

woodhill · 25/12/2021 20:08

@RampantIvy

I have this hair product from the summer beauty bag. I only wash my hair twice a week so it takes ages to go through this kind of thing.
Yes, I would have rather had something else. Too many hair products
IloveJudgeJudy · 25/12/2021 21:24

Merry Christmas from me, too. I mostly lurked on the thread but very much enjoyed seeing everyone else's opinion on the products. I must admit I was a little disappointed to have hair treatment as the climax of the calendar but agree it was very good value and varied. I didn't have one for a couple of years.

If I didn't have this one I think I'd have the muesli one (can't remember where from).

Does anyone think Chanel will do another one after this year's fiasco?

marchduck · 25/12/2021 23:03

I've loved the calendar. I tended to open it in the evening, and it was so lovely to look forward to the treats as work has been full on this month.
I really loved sone of the products and will rebuy; EH cleansing balm, PR WonderBslm, Prai cream, Alpha H
I haven't used the perfume from yesterday or today's Aveda yet, so looking forward to trying those.
The only slight disappointment for me was the Autograph lip, I love tinted lip balms generally, but the tone was too blue on me, and I found it a little drying.
I've also so enjoyed reading the thread, Happy Christmas everyone Smile

Why? What happened?

It was £800 or £900 for a load of tat. See here
RampantIvy · 26/12/2021 07:59

Stickers, keyrings and bookmarks - no thank you.

helenabonhamfarter · 26/12/2021 09:35

Boo.
No calendar this morning.
I will miss it very much.

latedecember1963 · 26/12/2021 10:34

Just had a look at the Chanel details. It's beyond outrageous. There will be people who will have bought that in good faith and no doubt been very disappointed.

latedecember1963 · 26/12/2021 10:36

My lovely MiL has given me the Neom 12 days of wellbeing calendar as a joint Christmas and birthday present so I still have the delights of daily treats for a while.

StiffyByng · 26/12/2021 12:24

DH bought me a jigsaw calendar yesterday so I’ve got my 12 days of Christmas ahead of me too!

I’ve finally started using calendar products: love the eye pencil, lip stick and brown mascara. I put the Pure cream on this morning and my skin is nice and soft. We’ve just moved to a hard water area and I was despairing of my hair but yesterday’s Aveda leave in has done good things. Grin

I googled reviews for it, and it has been compared to the Zoella calendar fiasco from a few years ago.
Bottomofsmughill · 26/12/2021 15:14

Is anyone doing swaps? I remember doing it a few years back. Only asking as I love the brown mascara and eyeliner, plus EH, perfume and others but I won’t use all that hair stuff.

JustWhatIAlwaysWanted · 26/12/2021 15:43

I'd be up for a swap thread @Bottomofsmughill. You could start one? It could be for any advent calendar items.

I liked the Aveda as the last day's item and thought the whole calendar was good value. I will be jettisoning the wonder balm though.
