Second thread, carrying on from

Hello all thanks for the new thread, I have today’s cream already and do like it although sometimes it can sting my very sensitive skin. I think it will go in the going away bag (which may get some use next spring/summer)

Helpstopthepain · 23/12/2021 12:57

I need today’s! I’m not sure it’s going to work the miracle that I need but excited to try!

wonderstuff · 23/12/2021 13:01

Joining in. Not a huge fan of today’s, but so far a great haul, used the anti frizz hair stuff today and it’s really good, have liked all the moisturisers

SomethingAboutNothing · 23/12/2021 14:12

I use it as a night cream.

Anjelika · 23/12/2021 16:31

I like today's. Always mean to rebuy it but then get drawn in by the Aldi Caviar night cream which I also like.

Plantsandpuddlesuits · 23/12/2021 16:34

I've totally fallen behind with the box and haven't opened it for over a week! Going to sit with a glass of wine tonight and open the lot in one go!

StiffyByng · 23/12/2021 17:03

I’ve been spoilt by the big luxury calendars I think but I’ve been disappointed by how many of this year’s items have been very small. It may also be the box sizes highlighting how tiny the contents are, but it’s felt very much like a collection of samples at times.

It’s only £40 and enough stuff in there makes up that cost I know.

RampantIvy · 23/12/2021 18:46

but it’s felt very much like a collection of samples at times.

I'm happy with that. I like to try sample sizes of products that I have never used before. About 3 or 4 years ago M & S had some Korres Wild Rose Night-Brightening Sleeping Facial and it was such a winner I bought loads. Sadly Korres have changed the recipe and it isn't as good, and M and S don't stock it any more anyway Sad.

woodhill · 23/12/2021 19:04

I like this and have used the full size one, this size is great for traveling

AlbertCampion · 23/12/2021 23:32

@Lowlifeinhighplaces seeing your post has just joined the dots for me. I've had a couple of patches of eczema crop up on my face - I wonder if it is the Pure cream?

TokyoSushi · 24/12/2021 06:32

The eczema on my eyes is really terrible now 😫 I can't figure out what it's from, and I can't seem to fix it!!

I've had to stop using all Advent calendar face products until I can figure out what it is...

I'm undeterred though and love the calendar, its my first one and I've really enjoyed opening it, I'll definitely be getting another next year.

Talisin · 24/12/2021 07:39

Todays gift was about the only thing I actually remembered was in it from reading the contents some weeks back. I like it but it’s the brand they always do - they stock various others so why not do a different one some years?

Pattygonia · 24/12/2021 07:46

@tokyosushi could it be blepharitis? Sorry to (slightly) go off topic from the advent loveliness. Only thing that sorted it for me was the blephawipes (not cheap but cut them in half). Hot compress also soothes. I get eczema too and thought it was that at first

DobbyTheHouseElk · 24/12/2021 07:54

My DM gets that too. She was told by her consultant eye man to use baby shampoo on her eyelashes (teeny amount) every morning. It cleared it up.

Love today’s product.

SomethingAboutNothing · 24/12/2021 08:00

Happy with today's product, I know we always get one but I like their fragrances, this one smells quite nice. Will probably use it for work.

The black tulip (or something like that) one from a few years ago was my favourite though.

Lowlifeinhighplaces · 24/12/2021 08:15

@AlbertCampion and @TokyoSushi , sorry to read you both are having problems with eczema really hope you both can ease it. Its odd for me as I dont get any allergies or have sensitive skin, so for sure will not be using the Pure again.

Todays is nice, I do like the smaller sizes so if your not that keen on the fragrance at least you have not bought a big bottle. Not getting the smell of gardenia though.

One more to go, but as I said up thread I know what it is!

Given most will all be busy with one thing or another tomorrow, can I just wish you all a very Merry Christmas enjoy the time whatever you are doing, I have enjoyed chatting about the products of my first M&S calendar, take care all!

RampantIvy · 24/12/2021 08:17

Really, really don't like today's perfume. I'll see if DD would like it.

SollaSollew · 24/12/2021 08:25

Happy Christmas Eve everyone, have been opening my calendar quite sporadically till now but managed to catch up last night then opened the perfume this morning.

I want to work out if somehow my box has been tampered with it there’s something wrong with it because the perfume this morning has a strong wee smell. Sorry if this is putting anyone off their breakfasts/calendars! Nothing else has smelt of wee and I’ve had a good sniff in the tin.

Does anyone else get that smell or should I be putting it all straight in the bin?

zucchinieggplant · 24/12/2021 08:36

Been following all month and only just posting now (this thread is part of the reason why I buy this calendar!).
Thoughts so far; really I
Pressed with the PK hair primer, will give it a few more tries but I think it could be a winner.
My tip for the elasticizer is to use after swimming - our pool was restricting use of the showers earlier in the year so I would slap some on after a swim then shower once home.
No other major standouts for me, though I haven't tried everything yet. Some classics though and always useful having sample sizes of some of my regular products (REN day cream, EH balm, and M&S night cream). Anyone else think todays is a dupe for Flowerbomb?

Countmeout · 24/12/2021 09:27

I like the smell of today’s but will probably keep it to take away as I’ve a couple of others on the go at the moment. I’ve not been disappointed with the calendar at all, it’s been a lovely wee perk each morning after a stressful enough year.

latedecember1963 · 24/12/2021 09:43

Sorry to hear about the eczema woes. I've just got a bit on the back of my hands this winter so far but itchy, flaky skin is miserable and at least I can keep my hands out of family photos.
According to the Shay and Blue website today's value is £25.00 bringing our running total to £265.83. The Blood Oranges one was always my favourite but I'm liking the way this one seemed quite understated when I 1st sprayed it but is beginning to have a bit more presence now.

Helpstopthepain · 24/12/2021 10:16

I really like the perfume! It’s very different to my usual but in a nice way!
One more day to go!

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 24/12/2021 10:42

Lovely scent! I'm a perfume addict, so very happy with this.

woodhill · 24/12/2021 11:04

Great that there is another one, usually they stop on the 24th.

woodhill · 24/12/2021 11:07

Sorry to hear that

Probably irrelevant and off topic but I read that eye lash serums could cause this problem and other side effects so I haven't used them for a while
